Miss eating chaval. My Mum used to make this. Loved the yakni what was left over.
Do try the recipe, we have the same in our home, someone always wants the leftover yakhni
Wow! You are an amazing cook and I Thankyou for sharing your fantastic recipes with us and for Your step by step guide which makes it so much easier to follow. One question, could you do this with chicken instead of lamb? Thankyou 😀👍
Hi Lisa, thank you lovely! You could use chicken but I normally dont make a yakhni (stock) when making chicken pilau as it cooks too quickly and the whole point of the yakhni is that the meat flavours that stock! Hope that helps! 😊

Salaam Shamza, excellent vid as per usual ! The frozen ginger garlic, do you grind and freeze yourself, or do you use the shop bought one ? I have seen the frozen ones in shop but didn't know whether to buy or not.
Wsalaam Dilly Dolly Day! Thank you for your comment! No I buy it from the local supermarket- Morrisons! It's just easier to have in the freezer as I don't have much room to make and freeze with my freezer being full! Hope that helps! Ps the frozen ginger garlic is better than the jar stuff! 😊👍
Salam sister. I love this dish and the simplicity that you apply to all your recipes. Keep it up👌
Hi Nazma, thank you for your comment and kind words! 😊👍
Definitely going to try this out. Looks delicious? Just one question please can I use chicken instead of lamb or mutton?
You can but cooking times will of course differ, If you take a look at my other videos I do have a chicken version of this.
I've done it today . Beautiful. Thank you. Is your pot a casserole pot?
Hi Magda, thank you for your comment. Super pleased to hear you enjoyed it. Yes it's a cast iron casserole 😊👍
How long do you soak your rice for ???
30 mins
Is it 1 tsp for cumin seeds in rice preparation or 1 tblsp
Hi...could u show how to make lamb nihari? Thanks
In sha Allah soon Alesia! I've such a long list I'm working through 😩
Quantity for the dry spices before you put in the rice
Hiya, tasted amazing but my rice was soggy😭, any tips?
Did you add the correct amount of water? Also you needed to cook the water out before you steamed it, other than that not sure what could have gone wrong.
Just cooked it. Came out nice! Didn't put it in the oven, just on the hob. Getting the salt right is critical, too little and it comes out bland. Thanks!
Great to hear you enjoyed this 😊
Could I use boneless lamb meat
Yes, but cooking times will vary compared to Mutton.
Hiii
Just trying this recipe out.
What part of Mutton did you use plz? Xx
Dolly G, I used leg on this occasion.
Your rice is sticky
If it was sticky it wouldn't come off the spoon or out the pan.
@@GadgetsGear it can still come off the spoon and pan, it's mildly sticky, not how palou should be.
@@weppi91 looks fine to me, every proper home pilau I've had is like this, resturant pilau isn't pilau its boiled rice that's just flavourless crap. This looks great to me.
@@GadgetsGear not saying it doesn't look great, just stating it looks sticky. No need to be so offended 🤭
@@weppi91 not offended, just follow her and her recipes are so damn good, most people comment without even trying them. Give it a go, different rice cooks differently, add half a cup less water if you want it slightly undercooked.
