Thanks for the video. I checked the amperage on the incandescent bulbs. The Map lights were .33 amps each for a total of .66A. The T10 LEDs I put in were .03A each - less than a tenth of the original bulbs. I drained my battery by accidentally leaving the map lights on. Never again, I hope.
The dome light was a Festoon 31mm drawing .61A. The trunk light was a Festoon 28mm drawing .36A. The LEDs I put in only drew .04 amps. I used a fuse puller to pull out the dome light.

Nutz, where can you find the 28mm light bulbs? Lasfit doesn't indicate a 28 mm bulb, they only Identify the 31mm. Any other companies or options to purchase the bulbs I need? Thanks...CR

You can buy them from any Toyota dealer that sells online. Search for part numbers 81265-47070 and 81265-47070
The only place to see how to swap the light on a moonroof model. Thanks for this - was considering pulling the entire panel down. Now if only there was a better way to do sunglasses since the drop-down is removed.

What about the overhead lamp that is supposed to shine down on the gearshift knob/area? What bulb type and how to replace it?
I think it’s an Incased LED light. Just like the glove box light. It’s one piece and it’s not a bulb type but more of a wire connection.

Did you lose the fade out effect with the led bulbs? I want to upgrade my car to led interior bulbs, but I don't know if I will lose the fade out effect
Nope, it works on the MAP and Dome lights
I lost that effect in my 07 Civic
‼️‼️ i was replacing my lights today and everything was going great until i got to my drivers side door and now none of my interior lights will turn on. i may have been too rough with the wiring is all i can think of, does anyone know how i can fix this? ‼️‼️
Check the fuse in the engine compartment or the driver side kick panel
How did you just pop out those map lights. I’m sitting here with pliers and I can’t get it to budge
Update: I got it. I broke the driver side one but it’s ok. Got the passenger side one out no problem though.
Sorry to hear you broke one off, you can get a replacement at the dealership for cheap hopefully. I just pried on the outer side since that’s where the prong was at.

Nah screw that my was the small oval one I placed the new but it was bigger and I burned 2 fuses trying to fix that.
Weird, never happened to me, and I had a big oval one and didn’t fit so I replaced with the small one and it fit. Didn’t blow any fuse
@@NutzAboutBolts hey do you think I’m gonna burn my car down I placed a 30 because I ran out of 10amp fuses? Or maybe it will help it and I should try to change the trunk lights again and hope a 30 can hold it. I got a 2011 Prius
@@danielmorais8754 30 is fine, it’ll withstand more current and won’t pop your fuse
Unfortunately, most of LED in the market are not reliable. they died faster than regular Edison bulb. Even worse in the headlamp, they are not brighter in most cases, only whiter and died pretty fast too. Halogen lamp like 9012 or HIR2 is about 50% brighter than other halogen type because of more efficient IR reflection and bright enough. Some of LED also produce more heat at the back and may melt the plastic housing. There is a clear reason why Toyota and Lexus do not use LED on their interior light.
Your average amazon or Ebay LED is going to be garbage. You need name brand, reputable LED manufactures, they are the best. Hikari LEDs for instance, are fantastic. They will last a decade. I put some Hikari's in my 2011 Prius five years ago, still going strong and have them in my 2018 Prius as well (they still don't use LEDs in interior lights! DUMB!)
@@davik9003 In some countries, you can get fine putting LED on headlight since most of the time it causes glaring to other drivers. In case of accident, insurance will not cover you if non-OEM type headlight is installed. I agree with putting LED on reverse light that sometimes it is too dim in the dark parking lot. Hikari LED was not that bad but not excellent either, GT-R LED is the gold standard with lifetime warranty. For me, $4 Halogen does the job best for Prius 2011.

Yes, quality is variable. I took a Clio mk2 centre console apart, it’s a pfaff. Cuts’n’grazes galore, but replaced the duff filament 4W or whatever, and the other identical bulb with two random LEDs from fleabay or somewhere…one died the very next day, the other still going strong 5 years later. So, fat lot of use. All it would have taken, is some kind of quick test at the factory I think, so LED quality is definitely a thing, hard to avoid going for branded recommendation for this. Same as low energy domestic residence bulbs really.
@@sleekitwan typical interior bulbs last really long, 10y/100k miles or more. I prefer to keep a flashlight in the car which is much brighter and useful in most of the time.
