Taken a long time to return to the Moon. As a kid, I recall the Apollo missions with Moon Rover in the 1970s. Grew up, worked on Space Shuttle.

As someone who’s birthday is the anniversary of the inaugural moon landing, this is something that I’ve dreamed of for so long! I can’t believe we are finally going back to the moon for the first time in my lifetime. And I’m no spring chicken!

Important point is that this next Moon landing will take place at the south pole of the Moon where as all of the other landings occurred along the Moon's equator.

That is 2 years from the first launch. I can't get over how incredibly slow the Federal government moves.
Well, when it comes to sending ppl to space, caution does seem to be the order of the day.
@@marionrkerr In a time when America needs positive inspiration more than ever, 2 years between launching the same vehicle is just unbelievably glacial. That even has implications for national pride that'll affect the next election. It's really unfortunate.
@@MrGriff305 I would certainly love it to go faster too. But even when we were going to the moon regularly with the Apollo missions, it would still be 6 months in between. We haven't done this in a LONG time so I think they just want to make sure it's done right. Nothing sets NASA back like losing astronauts.

I'm not sure what their itinerary would be if they went for three weeks...maybe! 🤔
Nice video, but please, at minimum 🙏🏻 always use metric + customary units. It is weird to hear you talk about space and science in antiquated units, the least and worst units as you CANNOT do science with “it”. I love your amazing videos ❤

The spacesuits are still white, just the flight suits are blue.
The Black Knight sat ell ite is always in orbit watching over us and we will have had the nod to return to the moon so that's fine. 67 species of different aliens and counting bob lazar ageing what's that all about. Darned if I know. I'm just an ignorant Yorkshire lad
