  • Menstrual cycle greatness awaits you! Let's dive in to some Q&A!
    Question 1:
Ines gives us some background history and then asks "My question is… I know I should work on my mindset and love my body at every size, BUT is it possible to just sit at this weight and wait for my period to come back? Or do I HAVE to gain more weight?"
    Question 2:
Melissa has a normal hormone panel BUT with progesterone reading low at 0.5 - so she asks "I wondered if you ever recommend for someone to take progesterone either topically or orally in order to get a bleed, even if it is just a withdrawal bleed. How important is it for my body to shed the uterine lining? "

This is unrelated to the subject of the video but it’s something I’ve been dealing with lately. Is a racing pulse normal in recovery? My resting pulse used to be on the lower side (50-60 BPM) but now since starting recovery it’s around 70-80. Sometimes even in the 90s when I’m super stressed/anxious. It’s just really freaking me out. I know it’s probably due to changes in metabolism/hormones. And I’m a very anxious person too so it’s probably that as well. Just wondering if it’s a common thing in HA recovery. Thanks so much!!

Hey Kaitlin, racing pulse can be experienced if you're coming up from a low pulse. I would get blood work panel to make sure everything is moving in the right direction and it's not something else, but I would stay calm about it. Also if you are coming from a lot bodyweight, this could be a thing.

@@DaniSheriff thank you so much for answering! what bloodwork would you recommend? I’ve had some hormones tested (and they’re all either normal or pretty low) and I’ve had a metabolic panel and complete blood count. All pretty normal besides my white blood cells are a little low. I am coming from a low body weight and a low pulse. So I’m guessing it’s probably just that. I also have high LDL cholesterol (probably due to low estrogen I’m guessing) so that’s why I’m worried

@@kaitlinrocks100 Hello Kaitlin, jumping on here, thank you for sharing your story as I relate a lot. My doctor sent me for a blood work for the hormones (the 1st test, my LH was below normal range, but the 2nd test was alright, but both FSH & LH were still in the lower within normal). Still haven't got my period yet, but saw more signs.
Anw, my resting HR was 50-60 as well, but nowadays in the higher range, like 70 something. But on the plus side: I have fewer "skipping a beat" sensations after eating, and feel less cold. I can wash my hair together in a shower, previously I didn't dare stand too long naked, so I used to wash my hair separately, still clothed.
My white blood cell counts on 1st and 2nd test were also still low.
I came from a low body weight (not underweight, BMI 20 something) low body fat (19%), now I'm on 20-21% just like last year when I was still regular.
High LDL cholesterol as well, Idk why... I did: intermittent fasting, calorie restrictions, even the last one ketogenic, but not sure whether the keto diet worked because my period went missing in the 3rd month in before even completing my target of 6 months keto. I'll have a lipid panel test sometime next month, let's see.
How are you doing tho? Have you got your period back? I wonder if I can connect with you as I feel alone in this journey :(

is my resting heart rate connected to my recovery? it used to be 46 when i was very ill but it slowly has come back up and was sitting at 56 for a long time but now it’s 62.
is this normal? and is it a good sign?

I had the same exact thing. My resting heart rate came back slowly (I also started at around 45) and last month it increased like every day slowly (till around 66) my heart rate also was higher during the day than I was used to. I didn't know what was going on but after a few weeks my period started! So I think my body pushed ovulation and I got my period! now my resting heart rate is coming down slowly (till around 62 again) I'm not a doctor so I don't know for sure but my experience is that it can be related. I definitely had a switch the last month before my period started in heart rate. Hopefully you'll get it soon 🙏🏻

Dani, can birth control pills stimulate the return of a natural cycle. I know its a fake period, but could it stimulate something that even after going off of it, your cycle could continue as a result of that initial stimulation

      @DaniSheriff  Před 6 měsíci

Hey hey - if you didn't have a cycle, went on the pill and then got one and kept it, I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly why that happened. It's unlikely - if you did, it would be a mixture of lifestyle changes probably... it's a big question for sure. Not a route I would recommend anyone take. Even if you did get a cycle, it's not likely to be a great one.

@@DaniSheriff if I gained 20 plus pounds and overshoot my healthy weight. No exercise anymore and still no period. Eating 3000-3500 day. How many more months of this? And why would it not be a good idea to just take that pill and get a period? Mayne that will flick that switch in my brain and the body would just take over. How can eating like a football player be the only way to recover once you are already fat?
