Having lost a son, a husband, and both parents I can say that my recollection of those events is super clear in my mind. My child's death being the most traumatic I recall every single detail. My husband and parents - I know the dates but have to think about it a second. I'm only 66. Joe Biden has endured such traumatic loss and it is not suprising that he has some fuzzyness. He is a decent human and I admire his intellect and his tenacity. Conald is none of the good things that Biden is.
So sorry for your losses. The fact that you are showing compassion rather than hatred from those losses speaks volume of your kindness.... we need more people like you to go out and vote for Biden......
I'm 66 and I don't remember any dates of my parents' or my siblings' deaths which happened a long time ago. It doesn't say that I loved them any less, it's just that don't remember dates. However, I do remember the things we did together.

My beautiful niece died on February 10th right before covid. I was devastated, she was like a second daughter. Then in August, I don't remember the day but we were back in school, my sister died. The biggest reason I remember the year was because of covid.

Congress needs to fund Ukraine in a stand-alone bill. Bundling funding for this swath of areas, especially with this toxic Congress, guarantees conflict and is a disgrace.

I am losing my trust in this channel. It seems like they are not showing the complete picture and cherry picking!
I’m 48 & lost my grandma who I was raised very close to around 2007 ISH … I don’t remember the exact day … maybe the first couple years but her loss & memory of her meant more to me than the exact date she died. I have 6 children & don’t asked me to quick when their birthdays are , I remember but have to think it through. My grandkids , I have no idea what their birthday is, only the time of year .
I have difficulty remembering all my grandchildrens birthdays. I know when my children's birthdays are, but they don't seem to remember when mine is. They remember their mothers. They take her out to eat and celebrate, which is good. Same on Mother's Day, but they forget about Father's Day. I remember my mother's Birthday, but that's kind of easy, it's the day after Valentine's Day. She died this past Spring, but I can't remember the date exactly, because it was a real unpleasant, very traumatic, and I was trying to forget that part of it, the exact day kinda got lost in it all. Strangely enough, I remember the handful of girlfriends in my life, birthdays, from like the age of 17. That's after being married for about 20 years. Funny how some memories stay and others do not.

During Reagan's 2nd term, he was in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease and sometimes thought he was on a movie set while in the WH. He also had some dirty dealings with Iran even right before he was elected, playing a backhanded game to get Iran not to release the hostages until after the election. Iran was ready to release them and that would have saved Carter's campaign, but Reagan went behind the scene and made a deal with Iran not to so the hostages were released the moment it was announced Reagan won his 1st term. Then he had the Iran/Contra scandal. He wasn't all that great, as he also destroyed workers' unions and began the stagnation of wages for the middle class.
Regan wife and his cabinet ran the white house in his last days because Regan had memorie lapses.

Memory is selective - nothing you can do about that. You remember what you want to remember. I'm 77 and I forget stuff all the time but not important stuff - just, for example, a specific word during a conversation - no big deal! People and their memories are perhaps not optimal at times, especially as one gets older, is a biological fact. But what is most important is how they use the faculties they have. How they seek the appropriate guidance and support from the qualified people around them to address any situation. Joe Biden has access to that knowledge, the information library, and all the tools that are needed to do the best job in any possible circumstance. The man with the wisdom and insight supported by the best possible team will make the best choices. There is no contest here!

There is actual science and excellent writing on memory loss and warp, also time warping, shifting within memories around grief. We all know it is a thing, however, it is recognized by psychologists.
You are correct. I'm only 53 years old and I slip with my tongue often. Actually, I've done so since I was young. It isn't necessarily an age issue. It's a human aspect.

The grief aspect is real! People have memory loss almost immediately. Long term, details stay lost, even big ones like dates. As we cope, we survive. The brain decides for us what details might harm us. I don't remember the date of my own father's death, for instance, including literally, the year. Every time I have to recall, I give my best guess. Also, details can warp. I took a grad class that had readings on this subject (confirming a lot of my own experience). If Herr made the assessment of Biden's memory based on recalling details of his son't death, he is blatantly off-base, and people should realize this. @@diannahill5577

Such a traumatic event like the loss of a beloved son, trying to not lose the other beloved son the years blur. I lost my husband that year, I wrote to Biden because he was handing veterans affairs and I had received a letter from the VA wanting me to give back my husband's last check back. I sent him the letter and the receipts from the bills my husband himself paid. I offered my condolences and told him no widow should ever receive a letter like that, but his son's wife was about to get one. His office did not hesitate and fixed it plus. I would have been destitute and homeless widowed and disabled had it not been for Biden's compassion and his ability to appoint qualified staff. Love one another.

What I can't grasp is how Trump has turned even normal people into liars for him. My neighbor is a mostly decent, but struggling guy to whom I have repeatedly loaned money over the years. He is on disability, and his wife works at Walmart. A couple of weeks ago he was complaining that his 401K (which I doubt he has) did so well under Trump and now he is losing everything. I asked him to get hos statements and let's see where he has invested so badly, and he hemmed and hawed and said he throws them away after reading them. But when I offered to go get mine to show how much I have made, he didn't want to see them.
It is this simple -he is in a cult and cannot accept it. So he must come up with reasons (supplied by social media and right wing news) that Biden is terrible, and cannot face proof that he is wrong. He likely has no 401K, but has heard that people are losing everything, so he claimed he had one.He didn't expect a fact check.
