You guys are adorable! This video had me rolling on the floor because I can totally relate to Victoria trying to pronounce the words. I am studying Russian and this is me when I am trying to read and sound out the words. I studied Spanish and Japanese and I had an easier time with those two languages. Russian is not exactly a language that is easy to pick up. For me, Russian is like linguistic acrobatics. The struggle is real. Fedor, you seem to be a very loving and patient instructor to Victoria. That is worth its weight in gold. Victoria, I think you did great!
Для таких пыток есть ещё слово "труднопроизносимый"! Интересно потом смотреть на выражение лица страдальца, когда он узнаёт значение этого слова! :) А у Вики прям-таки талант!!!Ты ей только ударения в длинных словах указывай!
Actually, Victoria has good pronunciation. At first, consonant clusters seem difficult, but as she practices more and more, she keeps improving her pronunciation. If you compare this video with previous ones, it’s quite apparent that repetition is key for her. Anyway, I’m a learner also.
7:09 Actually the word "БЕСПЕРСПЕКТИВНЫЙ" contains the english word "perspective". If you had told that her, she would pronounce it immediately, like: "bes-perspective-niy". Ez pz
We see you trying Victoria! 9/10!! 👍🏼 I can't be ruthless I was trying right along with you but I'm only 4 months into Russian, so 4/10 for me. Eta: more videos like this, пожалуйста. It feels validating to see the struggle and in motivates me to power through. Спасибо тебе за видео ❤
Always smile so much watching you guys. I was trying to sound it out too and gave up by the third word. I love how Victoria has kept up her Russian studies all this time and give her an A for effort ♥️ She is really good at reading
I don't know anything about the Russian alphabet or any Russian words. She did a pretty good and I love how hard she's trying. This video made me want to go look at videos on how to pronounce the Russian alphabet.
@@robertoibarrabenitez6750, you're wrong. This is Russian alphabet. Cyrillic alphabet is one of the Old Slavonic alphabet, which formed the basis of the Russian and some other Slavic alphabets.

You guys are just amazing, and you are truly the beautiful future of our planet. I wish all the people were so intelligent, open-minded, kind and caring. And I hope they will be at some point :) Also, your babies will definitely be adorable and caring just like you, if you choose to have them!
she did a great job. i will have to watch more of your interactions. i have studied russian for many years off and on. i speak russian well but when people speak quickly it is difficult. thank you again and i subscribed misha
I took Russian in college some 45 years or so and haven't had much chance to use it since. I was kind of surprised that I was able to sound some of these out.
Coming from someone who does not have any skills in this area, I think you did quite good! I give you a10 for the effort and a 5-6 for the actual elucidation. Just because, I think you did great and I applaud you 👏🏾 for your zeal and courage to try and learn something outside of English! Especially this language, as it looks so difficult and different from our normal. Carry on, you surely will nail it! 👍🏾
That's because Russian is a slavic tongue, an entirely different family of languages. No relation to English or Latin at all. No common root words or root derivatives. The english alphabet is written in Latin script, Russian in Cyrilic script. So many consonants in the language. I love to listen and try the pronounciations too.
Being both a preposition and a prefix, без (bez/bec) can appear as 1) a word by itself (без меня=without me: bez, expressing a negative notion, is followed by the genitive menja); 2) as an element at the beginning of a verb, a noun, or an adjective, expressing a negative notion (lack of, absence of, as « without » , «a » etc.. in English. As such, it can be found in many Russian words exactly as its English equivalent itself derived from the Greek privative alpha/a. Ex. 1) Gratuitous=without having to pay=without money= free = becplatny=бесплатный ; 2) Restless =deprived of rest/calm/peace= becpakoiny=беспакойный. Remember the root cпакой in Good night!? Спакойной ночи! Of course from these adjectives, the derived adverbial form will only have a different suffix:-о instead of -ый Good luck. Russian is such a beautiful, beautifully structured language. .
Lol. I loved seeing this. You made me feel so much better. This is me every Russian lesson. I feel so bad for my tutor. Now I feel not alone in my struggle. 😅💚
Victoria give me hope. She's having the same trouble I'm having, only she is much better. You know Fedor is in love. Nobody else could look at Victoria the way he does and make those impossible words sound sexy.
My father was in the military and very mysterious. One early morning about 3 am I heard him on the phone speaking Russian. I had heard Russian on the new so I recognized the sound. I was shocked. I later asked him if he spoke Russian and he said why do you think I speak Russian? About 30 plus years later I told him I knew he spoke Russian, one additional language which he admitted to knowing. He said how did you find out? Hahaha, got him.
My thoughts exactly! "All that for average!" Like they throw the whole alphabet into a word and you ask for the translation and they're like, "It means two." 🙄
My new fav crazy russian word: самосовершенствование (self improvement) how many letters can you put into a word? BTW recently downloaded a LingQ lesson, went through it and thought: I know this voice from somewhere! Thanks for sharing on LingQ!
Also, I think мгла means such a blizzard when you can't see a thing. And it's dark because of the amount of snow swirling in the air. I guess we sometimes apply it to fog but only if it's darker because of it. Соответствовать = to meet standarts or to meet someone's expectations. Среднестатистический = statistically average. So you use this one when you quote some statistics.
Excellent pronunciation. I guess you can think of mg as a kind of a diphtong consonant. Mgla reminds of Zulu, Swahili... ... соотвевовасть you know you will have to pronounce the vowel coming before consonant containing the o in Ovat'. достопримечAтельность 🙂
HAHA "if you have a stutter, it's over for you"
That was my childhood while attempting to learn Spanish.

We have been waiting you for a long time. We luv ya both. God bless

I like seeing Victoria wearing red lipstick. Brings out her beauty.

it would be best to break them down for us, in syllables, but this was very much fun. You two are adorable.
Great job Victoria !
I would separate the various components.
Bec =without
Perspektiv= perspective
Nyi =adjectival suffix
Does Bec mean without in other Russian words?

PS: in some regional dialects O's are still pronounced as O's but this is considered village speak now.
Not a влечение - притягательность
