    How do you isolate specific areas? Like paths and areas not grass

    Awesome tutorial !
    I ve got two questions :
    How to change noise size and look for differents repartition colors for grass ?
    Can i ad vibrate tag on matrix for making fake wind on grass ?
    Cheers !

      Thanks!
      This technique randomizes the color of each of the clones. However if you swap the 'Random Effector' for a 'Shader Effector' you can the use a noise to drive the shading. Customize the noise any way you like. Hope this helps. It's a great question & if I get time later I'll make a quick tutorial on this.
      Regarding the vibrate - Adding it to the Matrix won't work. You'd have to use a regular Cloner, bake it & add the vibrate to the individual assets. I think unfortunately it won't give you the effect you're after though. For wind in grass take a look at the Forester plugin or using the C4D hair object to drive grass creation.

    how would I use a image texture to drive the pattern?

    it would have been useful to teach and show us what those nodes in between the Color User Data and the RS Ramp do. I've been using the Color User Data directly into the RS Ramp before with similar results, and I'd like to know why you added the Color to HSV and the Vector to Scalar. Maybe think about, for your next tutorial, to isolate and show the result of each node. Thanks

      Thanks for the suggestion! I do tend to sometimes brush over details so maybe I should look at doing a deeper dive on those nodes. Cheers!

    Hey, great tutorial man! I have an animation of a lot of flowers growing and with this method the color of every object changes every single frame. Do you know how to solve this?

    • @CautiousPossum
      @CautiousPossum  Před 2 lety

      That's strange. I've never had that happen in animated scenes. Happy to help, message me here and we can talk further cautiouspossum.com/contact/

      a bit late but you just need to cache the matrix

    Can RS matrix work with dynamics? Rigid body/collision?

    • @CautiousPossum
      @CautiousPossum  Před 2 lety

      Good question - In theory it should, give it a go. I'm away from my workstation at the moment so can't test it unfortunately.

      @@CautiousPossum I tried and it did not work. :(( Or I'm doing it wrong. Let me know if you managed to add dynamics to the scatter instances. TY!
