17 - Judges 9 - Who Will Be King

After Gideon led the children of Israel to victory over the Midianite coalition, the land of Israel had rest for forty years. Gideon, the man who was the least in his father’s house and clan became great. All Israel wanted to make him and his sons kings. Gideon who was also called Yeroob-ba-al, wisely, refused the honor for both himself, and his sons. He turned his attention to establishing his house.
Judges 8:29-31 NKJV 29 Then Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his own house. 30 Gideon had seventy sons who were his own offspring, for he had many wives. 31 And his concubine who was in Shechem also bore him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.
