You did not replace o ring that is in the ring ( spacer ) at the end of assembly. And secondly , easier way to put magneto back in place is to set bike in first gear and then start moving rear tyre back and front and whole piece just slides in like in a butter.

Anyone know what year Yamaha upgraded the part? I have a 2011, so it would be nice to not have to tear it apart to check.

Cardboard idea was fucking genius….I assume it was a lil thick and held gears in while removing the rotor….imma gonna be doing this job soon,I’ll remember to grab an old cereal box ((thinner cardboard)) because of your flash of genius 👍🏼

yeah it was a little too thick. You can also try cutting up a milk jug to shape as well.

It sucks cuz even though this is a not if but when situation,a lot of guys rotors seem fine.
But of course there are the guys that it took a crap.
Usually at this mileage and up(29k right?)
My Fz1 has a mere 4300 miles so that too many heat cycles.
But it is an 06 so who knows how good the epoxy is really. Guess ill be spending even more money .

hi, thanks for the vid, could you tell me, please, in which way goes the large ring that you take off at 5:16 ? mine fell (on the ground), and I didn't have time to see the right way to put it back (as it is not symetric)
    Thanks !
