Don't forget that Red Dead Redemption II is not optimized for the new generation, so the results are practically the same as the Xbox One S and Xbox One X.

Never played the series x version but playing the xbox one version more than 6 times I've noticed that the game has problems with hair detail and rocks vibrating. Can't recall the mission but when arthur goes to stop the train with the oil wagon, the camera cuts too arthur feet to show the tracks are vibrating and every time it does that the point between the huge rock pile up and where the track comes out always has problems showing the textures in that specific spot and starts gliching out like crazy.
The s series version is the same as the one s and fat, the X series version is the same as the one x, when this game is optimized for both consoles it will be amazing

Hoping for a 1080p 60fps mode for the Series S but we just going to have to wait for rockstar to put out a rerelease version of the game on Series X|S just like what they did for GTA 5
They also will probably charge us for it. I would pay for it anyway. I just want them to release an update. Also that would be amazing if they would remake the original one.

The thing is that there isn't native Xbox Series versions of RDR2. So, Series S is running the Xbox One S codebase which renders at 864p, versus the Series X which runs the One X version that renders in native 4K. This comparison is also flawed since the time of day is drastically different between the two shots.

I think they can put a native Full HD with 60FPS on Series S. It'd be a great deal considering GPU limitations (for a heavy detailed game it'd reach 1080p), but not so much for CPU (and thats why I believe 60FPS is possible). With 1080p 60FPS you'd get a solid view instead of a lame 860p 30FPS from a limited Xbox One

@@arturrihstut949 when you want to turn it down go to settings/power options (or smt like that)/ shut down.
Or you can just press the xbox button on the controller and select "turn off console" but this leaves the console running on low mode so I dont really reccomend it for extended periods of time.
If you have the series x I would reccomend resetting your games (close it and open it again) for long game sesions, this also goes for the series S too, your ram will thank you.
Oh, the most important thing you should do is get one of those power adapter things (like, the multiple connection box) so that you dont directly connect your console to the power, its risky at least for me, in my country at least given the issues with electricity, it could zap your console to death.
Thats it btw, this is more of a personal opinion but if you get gamepass, play the games that trully interest you, or you'll start to get bored of so many options.

RDR2 is not optimized for the later consoles. The series x is running the xbox one x version and the series s is running the one s version. That's why it looks bad on the series s.
The crazy part is, my first playthrough was on a 720p monitor with a VGA to HDMI adapter and the og Xbox one. Now I'm playing it on PC with an oled ultrawide and my god this game is stunning.
I have played through on both consoles. Its amazing what the S is capable of, the soft visuals actually make it feel like an old movie- actually almost preferred the visuals from the S. The X is a beast, the imagery from this game in 4k is stunning ( just turn your sharpening off inside your TV/Monitor!!)
I bought Rdr2 on series s and now i regret it its so bad.
Sadly it's works with the one s version. :(

Yea prob shoulda got on x cause on x 8m actually blown away at how nice it looks, while it’s only 30fps (I don’t mind a lot of games are In res mode) it’s a stable 30, no drops and it even has par textures (3d textures, like dirt, durable on rails, 3d fur) very noice

I kinda like the colors of the series s a bit more just cause they feel more realistic, but Xbox series x has better details if they decrease the saturation a bit it will look extremely realistic, Either way it’s great

My Series S looks fine I changed the settings to 4k and what matters is what kind of smart t.v or monitor are you using. That counts as well.

I have a 4090 and would rather play on my Xbox. Nvidia is ass, the pc ports of most games are ass, have to wait for drivers to get a stable framerate it it's a new triple A. And I have literally everything top of the line.

I can’t believe that the series s runs at ~900p when the previous Xbox one x runs it at a native 4K… Rockstar’s support for this game (or lack there of) is absolutely shocking.
As IF we don’t even have a 60fps mode on next gen consoles, when gta v has had like 3 remasters already, (one for every major console generation since it came out). So sad. GTA 5 just seems so much more generic to me and is unexciting unless playing with friends (but even co-op has become pretty generic, compared to the old days of gta v when everything was exciting and new).
RDR2 just had *so much wasted potential.*
Sadly they didn't updated the game yet. They need to update this gem to next gen ASAP.

Hey for those wondering, to unlock any graphics past 1080p such as 4k, u need a 4k tv and u also need a 4k tv for past 60fps

I have over 4,000 hours on RDR2. I’m not kidding when I say this post made me buy a Series X, coming from a Series S. The difference is so massive it’s like playing a different game
The PC version with the settings on high looks even better than it does on the Series X. If you ever invest in a good PC I highly recommend getting it on PC.
They look the same when you're far away from the TV
The picture, colors and lighting in the S version are a hundred times better than the X version, and you basically will not focus while you are in the middle of the game and zooming in to see how the hair moves.

Wait... did Rockstar ever released a next-gen update to RDR2? Cuz I got a PS5, already played a few times this year (2023) and the only "upgrade" I noticed was the UI/HUD that's really crisp and defined, other than that I don't really feel any improvements on the game engine itself, no bumps in resolution nor performance. Is this only available to Series X? Or is it simply a backwards mode that somehow Microsoft improves the game all by itself?
The Xbox one X version of the game looked better than the ps4 pro version so the Series X version should look sharper than the game running on ps5.
Only real difference I believe is 16x anisotropic filtering which is applied to back compat titles on series X.
Either way, the series X is a pretty solid console. The auto HDR it applies to older games looks solid too

Lightning doesn't effect the graphics directly. The quality of the graphics are remain same. I have tons of gameplays and long comparisons with the same lightning. Look at my channel. U sure there not swapped around bc I got the series s and I run 4k and it don't look disgusting like it does in the vid plus there basically built the same exact way except one has a quality option and more affordable and the other has a performance option With a bit better storage and 1 or 2 other parts
