The Xbox series x is a much powerful console and it has nothing to do with the console themselves it has to do with the devs that made the game the PC version has the same issues with the series x. It seems they paid more attention to the PS5 version to the game and a bit lazy with series x and PC.

Not really in the 90s on cartridge everything was pre-loaded and there was no loading time, also later on with discs the loading wasn't as long as the Hdd PS4/Xbox One day's due to much much smaller files.

Not really. Series X has been lagging behind PS5 for most games now. They both are similar machines but PS5 has 1 native 8k while that same game runs at 4k on series X

I have an Xbox and I have not seen any of those bugs. It plays and looks great. Here is the situation, if you prefer ps5 then great, but don't act like Xbox is broken. That is not true. My game runs on Xbox at 60fps, and both consoles have minor stuttering. That is the truth, but people need to be careful what they listen to. Both consoles are good. Choose for yourself.

It’s actually insane and maybe I’ll do a recording but I can run around on PS5 and I’ll get stutters at the corners or doors but like you said on Xbox its like every few seconds there’s a stutter. Both systems should be MASSIVELY OVERQUALIFIED to 60fps this game and just look at GTA5. You know how many scripts are probably running at the same time in that game, plus one of the largest gaming maps that has to be rendered in online for 30 people. Not sure what the excuse is when with 5 delays it still came out like this.

Sony specifically targeted loading times when they designed the PS5, wanting to reduce them as much as possible. Hence most (all) multiplatform games have faster loading times on PS5. The Series X was more of a "just higher numbers in every category"-type upgrade, hence it has slightly more power than the PS5 overall, but it doesn't excel in any one particular area.
I played this game on series X and i can confirmed that there are some graphics glitches sometimes most times releated to light sources. Also i noticed that on second part of map there is more problems with fps drops when you just run and fly there. You can tell that ps5 got more dev time, even pc version got some nasty fps issues.

For example, I have found Cyberpunk has better resolution on the Series X, but frame rates, it's about even. With maybe the PS5 performing slightly better. But i dunno if I'm just imagining that. Dev focus does matter. Look at the 360 and PS3. On paper the PS3 was the better console, but almost all 3rd party games played better on the 360 as it was just easier for the devs.
The Xbox Series X is a great console, I bought one in December 2021, to compliment by then-old PC prior to upgrading it late last year. I also have a PS5 but in my experience third-party games tend to run better on Sony's console, not always but most do. Therein lies the problem: Microsoft's Xbox Series X might have the 2 TFLOPS performance advantage on paper but if developers are prioritising the PS5 over the Xbox Series X, because Sony's console is selling better and has a bigger user-base, then all the extra performance is wasted because the Microsoft version isn't getting the same level of polish and optimisation. This was true of The Callisto Protocol, which was a bit of a mess on Xbox Series X at launch but ran fine on PS5, and seems to be the case with Hogwarts Legacy too. We have this super powerful console that is 20% better than the PS5 but over 2 years after the Xbox Series X's release we are still waiting for the system selling triple A exclusive game...
Well on Callisto Protocol, Sony had their own team working along the developers in the final state to ensure they were getting a good experience at launch. Microsoft didn't get that opportunity. So the game ran poorly on both xbox and pc at launch unfortunately... If we look back to the ps3/360 days, the roles were the opposite: ps3 games always had lower fps and suffered from several issues, while the 360 had it pretty good.

It’s frustrating to see MS literally not care to make the moves needed to further their sales. Best they did was say “Buy Far Cry 6 on Xbox” with nothing special and the game ended up mediocre. They need serious internal change and to realize that not all exclusivity is bad.
I picked this up for the ps5, i've been noticing multiple frame drops in performance mode and there's a loading time when I pass through a door inside of hogwarts
Balanced mode with fps cap off gives me the best result for the Series X aswell for the Ps5! But on the Series X no loading times infront of the doors..
I found this video looking for a different fix. I implemented the "no frame cap" and it fixed a graphic issue I've had since March 2023! I had just accepted the issue as a glitch. Thank you for posting!! FYI. Hogwarts Legacy is my first console game.
I’m blown away by the performance on my PS5 and even with ray tracing turned off there are still elements of perfect reflections. It’s just not as saturated with shiny surfaces everywhere but I’ll definitely take the 60 frames per second over everything looking like it’s made out of glass, but the game runs flawlessly, especially on my 65 inch 4KUHD with 120 refresh rate.
60 fps? I have ps5 too and don’t see any difference to be honest between fidelity and fidelity with rt. So I play on rt. P.S. Yes, some of the surfaces have way too much reflection but the world outside hogwarts is amazing with rt
So no mention of VRR a massive feature that can clear up most studders in framerate. Why dont you mention that? Surely you have a display with VRR to test? Plus both consoles offer VRR. I have the Series X version and VRR is always turned on no matter what game im playing
@@ragingpheonix8429 bro xbox had vrr since xbox one days. Playstation doesnt have freesync it only has hdmi vrr which works between 48hz and 120hz and the force vrr isnt great. Xbox has amd freesync which works as low as 20hz and supports every game flawlessly. Vrr removes all stuttering and fps drop issue’s on xbox. It should be used at all time since you dont need an hdmi 2.1 monitor for xbox unlike ps5’s vrr which needs hdmi 2.1
I'm not into Harry Potter at all. I tried to watch all of the movies but just couldn't do it. However, this game looks pretty damn cool. Might have to pick it up one day.

Runs totally nice on current gen consoles. I'm using the 40fps mode and love it 😍 but i am also really interested to see how it will run on last gen consoles, should be like 800-1080p with targeted 30fps
The only thing that drives me crazy apart from the lighting being all over the place, I hate it when I’m running through a door and it loads on xbox .. just because of that I’m thinking of selling it and buying it again on PlayStation just for that reason
General rule of thumb, and why comparing multi plat games, which have an exclusive content contract with PlayStation, will end in a predefined outcome. "it slightly runs better on the PS5 and seems better polished". It isn't a big surprise as that content contract includes a "parity" clause, which makes sure the game has to run at least the same on the PlayStation console, which sets the bar how good it is allowed to look/run at max. It basically also allows you only one option on other consoles, to run the exact same or worse, but not better. That is why you have to wait on those games for a few patches to get a better experience. Keep that in mind when you watch the next comparison video for a game that has an exclusive content contract. And a note to every video creator who looks at those games. Please do not push the "fault" on the devs. It is decided by the publisher who signs those deals. The devs just have to follow the contract and make sure they do not break it.
Gaming at 30fps in 2024 is absolutely ridiculous. This is why i game on PC. However, gaming pc part prices in 2024 are also absolutely ridiculous. For me, money isn't an issue. But it once was a big one. And i think all gamers should be able to have the high end pc gaming experience.

I have both consoles but I prefer xbox overall. Better game selection IMO as I'm into the Halo series as well and Bluetooth headset use. The PS5 is definitely quicker though!

Depends on the pc. Mine and my brothers run better and look better than the consoles version without and upscaling unlike the console. I have both consoles and it’s true allot of the games are a touch better on PS5

Is this before the patch? Because there is an fps lock option. Also, raytracing mode adds raytraced reflections on select materials. Water, unfortunately does not have raytraced reflections. Only the shiny floors, wet floors, metallic floors, and the like. So pretty much everything that has reflections ASIDE FROM THE WATER has raytraced reflections. A lot of the time, they use both raytracing and the usual screen space reflections.
i have both consoles. Tbh both are great. This time i decided to get this game for my ps5. When it comes to airflow the xbox did a better job. 4k gaming creates a lot of heat which sony didnt solve really well. The ps5 makes crack noises very loud and constantly. I guess it comes from the side plates (plastic). Not only with hogwarts legacy but every ps5 game. Yes its normal that plastic reacts to heat but come on. Next time will buy games for the xbox even if the gaming studios are optimising them better for ps5. I can deal with some fps drops but not with constant cracking

I have both too and the Xbox is definitely the better built one. I haven’t had any expansion related cracking sounds from the PS5 but the cooling fan developed a tinnitus inducing high pitched whine after a month. I had to buy a different brand one from an older model (there’s 4 different types, all of varying noise levels I found out). That and the disc drive is so loud it sounds like it’s about to take off and has made me veer towards digital only games for it. The Series X on the other hand has been silent since I got it in ‘21 lol.

When it comes to developing a game time is gold, literally. You can't spend as much time polishing a system as the Series X as you would do with the PS5, why? Because Xbox sells worse than PS5 and to add insult to injury you need to optimize not only Series X but also Series S which in some cases with the limitation of RAM can be challenging. No developer is going to spend extra time on polishing the game for a system in this conditions. This is why the Series S is holding back the Series X, a clearly better machine than the PS5...
I’m sure a patch will come out on Xbox and fix it eventually. I swear Sony pays these devs to make the games run slightly worse on Xbox at launch but we will never know.

Anyone having an issue on Xbox Series X where ray tracing won’t turn off? In my settings it says I’m on fidelity and I’ve restarted the game and the console but my reflections on the floor look like ray tracing is on still
On both PS5 and Series X I honestly couldn't tell much of difference in the reflections and was also questioning if something is "changing" even in performance mode the reflection's seems to be there and similar to fidelity ray tracing.
I have both the PS5 and the XBOX SERIES X and am telling from experience the ps5 feels better and looks nicer, didn't play my XBOX series x for about 2 months now but I still love my Xbox but I just love how my ps5 running and the controller feels great ❤❤

I have a 120hz vrr TV and have tried every setting on the series x. Performance and HFR performance both give me a weird ghosting issue around my character. Balances seems best overall with the occasional fps dip when transitioning areas around hogwarts.
@teemunevalainen225 the tv don't matter its the input and output of your hdmi and how strong its is. Say you have a 120 hrtz tv with 4k. The hdmi may not be able to handle that it could be doing 1080p and 60 hrtz. It all depends on what your tv and game system supports and if the hdmi can handle that.because if the hdmi can't handle it your not gonna get the full experience. That's why I dropped 80 dollars on a hdmi

Even tho Xbox has gotten stronger over the years due to the PlayStation setting the bar high every generation. I feel like Xbox is always behind in terms of power. On paper the series x should be stronger but it’s the titles and optimizations for the PlayStation that gives it the better edge. Xbox don’t have jrpg like that and PlayStation has been releasing so many games it just has the power and optimization to play games better for some reason. Even Xbox ports are always a couple resolutions and frame rates lower
It's due to optimization. Since PlayStation is the more popular console, some developers tend to optimize better for it at launch and then patch the Xbox version later. Keep in mind that for this game, Sony actually has exclusive marketing rights as well as some exclusive content. In general however, the Series X runs games at slightly higher resolutions and ray tracing performance is comparatively better.

Don’t cry for the choice, both a good. The stuttering is a game engine problem instead of the console itself. This game runs marginally the same on both. It has barely any noticeable differences.
The only difference I've noticed between my two consoles is that the PS5 is the only one that will kick HDR on, so for me that's the only difference when playing especially on performance mode

I have the game on PS5, im getting… Smooth 60fps on fidelity and fidelity with ray tracing Smooth 120fps in performance mode Very jittery 42fps in balance mode Smooth 120fps in hfr performance mode. Im very surprised on fidelity modes fps, but I wished balanced was better, id like to have both good fps and graphics.
I go this on my series x playing it on fidelity as performance mode seemed more unstable despite higher frame rates, but now fidelity mode after 20+ hours in the game is going crazy fps drops every few steps and I get lighting glitches almost all the time but especially in the night time, I tested other games and this isn't going on

Honestly at this point I think it's fair to say that between these two consoles the data is in. I've watched about 10 or more of these ps vs Xbox comparison videos and ps is just slightly the better console. I wasntnt expecting this outcome because Xbox supposedly had more teraflops but every game that's out on both consoles run better on ps5 nor to mention the ps exclusives just blow xboxes out the water so to say. With this said they are both great systems and I would would be happy to own either one but I I had a choice I would take the ps.
I have both consoles. PS5 seems to be able to download games much faster for whatever reason. (I have the best fiber internet ATT has to offer as well) Xbox is better at quick resumes and is able to handle multiple things going on at once on screen. PS5 has some slight issues but nothing game breaking. I’m a fan of both and have always had one of each console growing up. The comparisons now are just splitting hairs.
Can you check the file sizes? I think PS5 games are smaller in size. I know for a fact the same game is smaller on PS5 than on PS4, for instance. (I know because I can choose between which version I download from the PSN when the game is available for both PS4 and PS5).

It's applied you can see the students reflections in the water but with low quality of course.

I have an Xbox and I have not seen any of those bugs. It plays and looks great. Here is the situation, if you prefer ps5 then great, but don't act like Xbox is broken. That is not true. My game runs on Xbox at 60fps, and both consoles have minor stuttering. That is the truth, but people need to be careful what they listen to. Both consoles are good. Choose for yourself.

It’s actually insane and maybe I’ll do a recording but I can run around on PS5 and I’ll get stutters at the corners or doors but like you said on Xbox its like every few seconds there’s a stutter. You know how many scripts are probably running at the same time in that game, plus one of the largest gaming maps that has to be rendered in online for 30 people. Sony specifically targeted loading times when they designed the PS5, wanting to reduce them as much as possible. Hence most (all) multiplatform games have faster loading times on PS5. The Series X was more of a "just higher numbers in every category"-type upgrade, hence it has slightly more power than the PS5 overall, but it doesn't excel in any one particular area.
The ps5 download games in about 15 to 20 minutes whereas the Series X takes about 40 minutes.
I played this game on series X and i can confirmed that there are some graphics glitches sometimes most times releated to light sources. Also i noticed that on second part of map there is more problems with fps drops when you just run and fly there. You can tell that ps5 got more dev time, even pc version got some nasty fps issues.
Don’t forget the stutter issues on PC, it’s awful.

For example, I have found Cyberpunk has better resolution on the Series X, but frame rates, it's about even. With maybe the PS5 performing slightly better. But i dunno if I'm just imagining that. Dev focus does matter. Look at the 360 and PS3. On paper the PS3 was the better console, but almost all 3rd party games played better on the 360 as it was just easier for the devs.

The Xbox Series X is a great console, I bought one in December 2021, to compliment by then-old PC prior to upgrading it late last year. I also have a PS5 but in my experience third-party games tend to run better on Sony's console, not always but most do. Therein lies the problem: Microsoft's Xbox Series X might have the 2 TFLOPS performance advantage on paper but if developers are prioritising the PS5 over the Xbox Series X, because Sony's console is selling better and has a bigger user-base, then all the extra performance is wasted because the Microsoft version isn't getting the same level of polish and optimisation. This was true of The Callisto Protocol, which was a bit of a mess on Xbox Series X at launch but ran fine on PS5, and seems to be the case with Hogwarts Legacy too. We have this super powerful console that is 20% better than the PS5 but over 2 years after the Xbox Series X's release we are still waiting for the system selling triple A exclusive game...
Well on Callisto Protocol, Sony had their own team working along the developers in the final state to ensure they were getting a good experience at launch. Microsoft didn't get that opportunity. So the game ran poorly on both xbox and pc at launch unfortunately... If we look back to the ps3/360 days, the roles were the opposite: ps3 games always had lower fps and suffered from several issues, while the 360 had it pretty good.

Balanced mode with fps cap off gives me the best result for the Series X aswell for the Ps5! But on the Series X no loading times infront of the doors..
I have all 5 options with 120hz, vrr, 2.1 HDMI etc and performance with no frame cap ended up easily the best for fps and graphics
I found this video looking for a different fix. I implemented the "no frame cap" and it fixed a graphic issue I've had since March 2023! I had just accepted the issue as a glitch. Thank you for posting!! FYI. Hogwarts Legacy is my first console game.
I’m blown away by the performance on my PS5 and even with ray tracing turned off there are still elements of perfect reflections. It’s just not as saturated with shiny surfaces everywhere but I’ll definitely take the 60 frames per second over everything looking like it’s made out of glass, but the game runs flawlessly, especially on my 65 inch 4KUHD with 120 refresh rate.

P.S. Yes, some of the surfaces have way too much reflection but the world outside hogwarts is amazing with rt

@@ragingpheonix8429 bro xbox had vrr since xbox one days. Playstation doesnt have freesync it only has hdmi vrr which works between 48hz and 120hz and the force vrr isnt great. Xbox has amd freesync which works as low as 20hz and supports every game flawlessly. Vrr removes all stuttering and fps drop issue’s on xbox. It should be used at all time since you dont need an hdmi 2.1 monitor for xbox unlike ps5’s vrr which needs hdmi 2.1

General rule of thumb, and why comparing multi plat games, which have an exclusive content contract with PlayStation, will end in a predefined outcome. "it slightly runs better on the PS5 and seems better polished". It isn't a big surprise as that content contract includes a "parity" clause, which makes sure the game has to run at least the same on the PlayStation console, which sets the bar how good it is allowed to look/run at max. It basically also allows you only one option on other consoles, to run the exact same or worse, but not better. That is why you have to wait on those games for a few patches to get a better experience.
Keep that in mind when you watch the next comparison video for a game that has an exclusive content contract.
And a note to every video creator who looks at those games.
Please do not push the "fault" on the devs. It is decided by the publisher who signs those deals.
The devs just have to follow the contract and make sure they do not break it.
Gaming at 30fps in 2024 is absolutely ridiculous. This is why i game on PC. However, gaming pc part prices in 2024 are also absolutely ridiculous. For me, money isn't an issue. But it once was a big one. And i think all gamers should be able to have the high end pc gaming experience.

Is this before the patch? Because there is an fps lock option. Also, raytracing mode adds raytraced reflections on select materials. Water, unfortunately does not have raytraced reflections. Only the shiny floors, wet floors, metallic floors, and the like. So pretty much everything that has reflections ASIDE FROM THE WATER has raytraced reflections. A lot of the time, they use both raytracing and the usual screen space reflections.

4k gaming creates a lot of heat which sony didnt solve really well. The ps5 makes crack noises very loud and constantly. I guess it comes from the side plates (plastic). Not only with hogwarts legacy but every ps5 game. Yes its normal that plastic reacts to heat but come on.
Next time will buy games for the xbox even if the gaming studios are optimising them better for ps5. I can deal with some fps drops but not with constant cracking

I have both too and the Xbox is definitely the better built one. I haven’t had any expansion related cracking sounds from the PS5 but the cooling fan developed a tinnitus inducing high pitched whine after a month. I had to buy a different brand one from an older model (there’s 4 different types, all of varying noise levels I found out). That and the disc drive is so loud it sounds like it’s about to take off and has made me veer towards digital only games for it. The Series X on the other hand has been silent since I got it in ‘21 lol.

When it comes to developing a game time is gold, literally. You can't spend as much time polishing a system as the Series X as you would do with the PS5, why? Because Xbox sells worse than PS5 and to add insult to injury you need to optimize not only Series X but also Series S which in some cases with the limitation of RAM can be challenging.
No developer is going to spend extra time on polishing the game for a system in this conditions.
This is why the Series S is holding back the Series X, a clearly better machine than the PS5...
The Series X FR seems to spike higher than drop lower than the PS5, with the latter having an overall more stable frame rate.
I’m sure a patch will come out on Xbox and fix it eventually. I swear Sony pays these devs to make the games run slightly worse on Xbox at launch but we will never know.

Anyone having an issue on Xbox Series X where ray tracing won’t turn off? In my settings it says I’m on fidelity and I’ve restarted the game and the console but my reflections on the floor look like ray tracing is on still
On both PS5 and Series X I honestly couldn't tell much of difference in the reflections and was also questioning if something is "changing" even in performance mode the reflection's seems to be there and similar to fidelity ray tracing.

I have a 120hz vrr TV and have tried every setting on the series x. Performance and HFR performance both give me a weird ghosting issue around my character. Balances seems best overall with the occasional fps dip when transitioning areas around hogwarts.

@teemunevalainen225 the tv don't matter its the input and output of your hdmi and how strong its is. Say you have a 120 hrtz tv with 4k. The hdmi may not be able to handle that it could be doing 1080p and 60 hrtz. It all depends on what your tv and game system supports and if the hdmi can handle that.because if the hdmi can't handle it your not gonna get the full experience. That's why I dropped 80 dollars on a hdmi

It's so sad that the XSX has too much potential in paper, yet in real life test it lakes the prefprmance.
Even tho Xbox has gotten stronger over the years due to the PlayStation setting the bar high every generation. I feel like Xbox is always behind in terms of power. On paper the series x should be stronger but it’s the titles and optimizations for the PlayStation that gives it the better edge. Xbox don’t have jrpg like that and PlayStation has been releasing so many games it just has the power and optimization to play games better for some reason. Even Xbox ports are always a couple resolutions and frame rates lower
It's due to optimization. Since PlayStation is the more popular console, some developers tend to optimize better for it at launch and then patch the Xbox version later. Keep in mind that for this game, Sony actually has exclusive marketing rights as well as some exclusive content. In general however, the Series X runs games at slightly higher resolutions and ray tracing performance is comparatively better.

@@strawberrysherbet96 It isn't. Most games run better on the Series X as I've pointed out. Exclusives are subjective. Personally, I'd take Halo and Forza over God of War and Spiderman any day. 90% of the games I play are Bethesda games anyway and practically no new Bethesda will be on the PS5.

Dont worry, it runs just fine most of the time on my Series X. The stuttering is present on every console and even on PC.
Don’t cry for the choice, both a good. The stuttering is a game engine problem instead of the console itself. This game runs marginally the same on both. It has barely any noticeable differences.
The game's optimization is just trash I got a pretty good pc and even that apparently is not enough for this game lol

So what if they did. MS has bottomless coffers of money, but instead of using said money to help out with development, or heck, maybe get their shit together when it comes to the grab bag of studios they already own, they'd rather spend a country's worth of gdp to buy publishers that have traditionally served everyone, including the Xbox. I am a series X owner (it's the only current gen system I own), and I don't get why people are exited for something like an Activision acquisition. As a gamer who really isn't concerned with MS shareholders, I have literally nothing to gain from this.

An entire library of games will be added to Gamepass along with all future releases day 1 🤷🏻♂️ Xbox will gain a tonne of Studios and IP to make games for the Xbox platform many being exclusive 🤯 I couldn’t care less about COD and think selling off the IP and keeping all the Studios would be the great(probably won’t happen). COD would die without the Studios that have been making it, it would take years for a new studio to make COD from scratch and it wouldn’t really be the same, Warzone would fizzle be out without the amount of studios stuck supporting it. I want games like True Crime and Prototype being made for Xbox not more COD

I go this on my series x playing it on fidelity as performance mode seemed more unstable despite higher frame rates, but now fidelity mode after 20+ hours in the game is going crazy fps drops every few steps and I get lighting glitches almost all the time but especially in the night time, I tested other games and this isn't going on

I've always thought when it comes to making something look realistic, PS always wins. But it doesn't matter what the system is capable of, it's what the creators wanna spend on graphics. I wanna see comparison two really good graphic games like Forza

Honestly at this point I think it's fair to say that between these two consoles the data is in. I've watched about 10 or more of these ps vs Xbox comparison videos and ps is just slightly the better console. I wasntnt expecting this outcome because Xbox supposedly had more teraflops but every game that's out on both consoles run better on ps5 nor to mention the ps exclusives just blow xboxes out the water so to say. With this said they are both great systems and I would would be happy to own either one but I I had a choice I would take the ps.

I have both consoles. PS5 seems to be able to download games much faster for whatever reason. (I have the best fiber internet ATT has to offer as well)
Xbox is better at quick resumes and is able to handle multiple things going on at once on screen.
PS5 has some slight issues but nothing game breaking. I’m a fan of both and have always had one of each console growing up. The comparisons now are just splitting hairs.
Can you check the file sizes? I think PS5 games are smaller in size. I know for a fact the same game is smaller on PS5 than on PS4, for instance. (I know because I can choose between which version I download from the PSN when the game is available for both PS4 and PS5).
