It’s hard to get around the fact that he had nude pictures his step daughter on his computer- hundreds of them. That is so creepy, and frightening.
They also forgot to mention that a good number of those photos were taken when she was a minor.
Yeah imo that was the most shocking and disturbing thing in this story. I couldn't care less if the pervert was murdered. I don't think the girl is innocent but God damn I can't believe people are sympathizing with a pedophile!! He was literally making the world a worse place by being in it.

@@blackdragoness21 There's zero proof of any of that. There's no proof either that he had more than one picture (the screensaver one), and even that picture apparently is put into question since it doesn't show her face.

You have to understand the way these dispatchers have to relay information to the police and the paramedics. Getting the gist of the story isnt the same thing. The man was relaying something the perpetrator allegedly said she did, but he had no verification, it was just heresay at that point. Its not the same as emphatically stating: 'I am reporting a homicide, this is when it happened, the deceased is at this address, the perpetrator is also at the address'. They have to get more information.

It's a bold move to have the nude photo of your step daughter as a screen saver when she lives next door, is in daily contact with you, visits your house daily to fix you dinner and even comes over to your house to clean it.

I doubt it ever happened. For all we know if there was any such nude photos of her maybe her Stepdad bought them from her 'Only Fans' website online? Maybe her Stepdad didn't approve of her slutty behavior and called her out, and she got mad? I think the nude photos were simply a 'Red Herring' because no one ever saw them. I doubt they ever existed. Also why did the prosecutors keep referring to his Computer Laptop, when all the photos showed a Desktop Computer? To me that's all a side show.

I wish they researched further into who owned those photos and how the stepdad acquired hundreds because I still don't understand how that happened and none of the news sites ever showed evidence of these photos.
Because there aren’t any photos … it’s just based on her word and she destroyed his hard drives too which assumed there wasn’t really any pics on there . She destroyed it so they wudnt see she made the story up. So it’s her word against a dead man.

@LadyChannDunDemSeason i hardly think "she didnt want to take care of him" would be her motive though. She didnt *have* to take care of him. Sure, its the morally "right" thing to do if he raised her and was a good father figure to her, but she still didnt have to. Especially since he was her stepfather and not her bio father. Besides, his health may not have been great, but it wasnt like she had to do everything for him at this point. She wasnt spoon feeding him, changing diapers, bathing him, dressing him, etc.

Let me say this: if I found naked photos of me in the shower on anyone's computer, I would go straight to the police and I will never ever pick that person up at the hospital. I would cut every tie with them and I would report them to the police.
Tom's actions were sick and outrageous. But this woman still is a murderer.

That's what I have trouble with in these cases. If you're innocent you don't hide or dismember the body.
well, some people make irrational decisions and panic in bad situations. If all that other evidence wasn't found, one could say she was in denial and just did what she did because she couldn't face it..."cover it up" so to speak until she could come to terms with it and call authorities. But in the driveway in plain sight is quite weird.
She called everyone for help except 911
When my husband fell and couldn't get up and I couldn't lift him up myself, you know what I did? I called 911! You know what happened next? Firemen came and they lifted him and took him to the hospital. I didn't call a bunch of friends who wouldn't help me. I didn't put a bunch of pillows on the ground and make him a bed. I called for help! Her story makes no sense!
Especially out in her car. What was he supposed to do? Pee in her car?
At night it can get very cold in CA, so leaving him out in the car was not an act of kindness.@@01denese
Don’t be to quick to judge. My neighbor in my apartment complex called me to come over and help pick up her mom who had fallen. She, herself, is physically not able to pick her up due to her health issues and even though we don’t know each other very well, she still called me. I struggled, even hurt my back, but I was able to help her up.
Im wondering if Tom really put the pics on his computer. OR if she did..when he was in hospital.....just for a reason of defense in case she got caught .....

31:46 They say you can strangle someone without leaving marks if the person is already unconscious. However, according to Jade's texts, he was already waking up, so there's no way, then, she could have strangled him (without leaving marks anyway).
I think she suffocated him with the bag but told her friend she strangled him because she didn't know the difference between the two.

Not condoning what she did to Tom but those photos, her not knowing how he came to obtain them, surely would have instilled both fear and anger in her and most any woman. Slightly similar situation when I was 19 years old, two neighbor men whom had watched me grow up since age 7 . After the shock and fear wore off, anger took over. Walk a mile in her shoes.

I mean I'm a pretty carefree man, not embarrassed by sexuality, but I wouldn't have a naked woman on my screen saver for all to see. I totally understand this. I had a pervert for a step "father" and tried to care for him after my mom died. But after numerous advances aimed at me I totally left him alone. I think the fact that his friend/business partner couldn't emphatically deny Tom could have been capable of having those photos speaks volumes as well. It seems he was probably going to die soon from poor health anyway.

This woman killed her stepfather. The most mysterious point is: where are all the photos? Why were they never found on his hard drive? Oh, the hundreds of photos on Tom's computer never existed and she destroyed the hard drive to make her own story credible. All the evidence points to her drugging and killing her stepfather. There is no other conclusion to draw from this. Guilty !!

Very strange that the stepdad has these photos he’s not supposed to have as a screen saver on his desktop when Jade is over all the time fixing his dinner for him and taking care of him. Also strange that these photos weren’t recovered for evidence. For all of those saying she should have reported him to police, simply having pictures of a woman over the age of 18 is not a crime. She could have distanced herself, cut contact, possibly gotten a restraining order. But I think there was more to their relationship than she wanted to admit to. I am sure if there was more of an investigation they would have found a motive for murdering Jade’s stepdad than some photos on a computer.
The pictures started at age 16 while she was still a minor so he could have been charged with child pics.

Well if he was to say hypothetically had cameras placed in the bathroom and in the room taking photos and video of her without her knowledge or consent then that would be illegal. But also if she was under aged in most pics then thats also possession of cp aswell . But this whole case is fishy let me finish watching 😭.

He took pictures of her while in the shower, bedroom, undressing, etc. Also, I think he may have stolen nude pictures of her off of her cell phone and/or computer.

I think it's pretty straightforward that regardless of the photos, it doesn't justify killing a man especially with premeditation. Report a creep or even go to the media or what not. Her hands were not tied. He was in fact so unwell still. And I am curious, if the photos were truly the centre of her story, why not make them part of evidence?

Firstly, what happened to her mom? Her mom was never mentioned. I mean, even her biological father made an appearance. Secondly, Jade shouldn't have even picked him up from the rehabilitation place. His best friend would've done it. It was stupid to drive to a hospital to pick up a wheelchair and not leave him at the damn hospital. But the dumbest thing by far, was leaving him at the edge of the driveway. That was beyond stupid!
I found it very frustrating and distracting that 48 Hours failed to mention where the mom was.
And I also thought that she drove him back to the hospital so that the doctors could run out and find him dead in the car. This would've been a believable death due to illness/overmedication scenario. But no, she steals a wheelchair and takes off. Guilty AND stupid.

In my opinion, this case highlights one of the major problems with our judicial system. So many members of a jury use their opinion and feels to draw their conclusion of innocents or guilt in circumstantial cases. It's such a shame that a citizen is required to be educated and tested to drive a car, earn a degree, and be certified to work but not to be part of a jury, when lives and the safety of the population is on the line.

It is important to realize that Jade and Tom were in a husband/wife relationship since she was 14. This is common.
They never addressed whether or not his computer ever really had the pictures. And that he uploaded them
His laptop did have the pictures… they addressed it at the end they just couldn’t find the hard drive with all of the hundreds of pics but that found the screensaver that was saved back in 2019 so they believe jade

Unlikely that the old guy could/would steal/hack into getting those photos. That computer was probably suspects old computer. She never removed the "sync" option on her photo app which enabled auto sending cellphone photos to old computer. Sad consequences.
