Lyrics:
Tongue-tied or short of breath
Don't even try
Try a little harder
Something's wrong
You're not naive, you must be strong
Ooh, baby try
Hey girl, move a little closer
You're too shy shy, hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy, hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush
Modern medicine falls short of your complaint
Ooh, try a little harder
Moving in circles won't you dilate
Ooh, baby try
Hey girl, move a little closer
'Cause you're too shy shy, hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush
You're too shy shy, hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy, hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush
Too, shy shy, hush hush, eye to eye
Too shy shy, hush hush eye to eye
Too, shy shy, hush hush

Welcome to the party pal...🥰
This song perfectly represents the '80s, to me. I lived through it and have really good memories. So much great music. But this one played constantly on the radio. Hearing it takes me right back there.

Most people don’t realize how complex those bass lines are. He put notes in there that are not supposed to go together & he made them work. Nick Beggs is a genius & an underrated bass player. Long live the 80s.

In the summer of 1983 I was on the way home from Bavaria with my grandmother on the Interzonal train to West Berlin. In the next compartment sat a bunch of punks and heard the song very loud. That was in the GDR just before the border to Berlin. I'll never forget it. 80s FOREVER!!! MM (D/1970)

Nobody really mentions the bass player. An outstanding bass line and "slappin da bass!" Amazing bass player!
What do you mean nobody mentions? He mentioned himself by kicking Limahl out and taking over the singing duties. Little did they know what a mistake that turned out to be.
Exactly!
Nick Beggs! A master of his craft. Saw him with Steven Wilson a few months back, spectacular player!
Well I'm here to mention him. I have a long version of this and you get to hear and play even more. This song was a jam!
”slapping the bass” I came as soon as I read that line.
Nick Beggs bass playing is incredible and here he was only like 21 years old. Mind blowing talent.
He was also the one who fired Limahl from the band not long after their success with this song.
@@ClassicTVMan1981X Why?
he felt like limahl was ruining the band’s sound.
@@peasantgasser ...yes, he had quite distinctive vocals but still a bit mean of him to boot him out.
If I’m being honest, I enjoy more Kajagoogoo’s sound after Limahl was kicked out. But, yes a bit mean from Beggs.

Nick Beggs, outstanding bassist
You're right that is a good Baseline
Not taking anything away from him, but there was for some reason a flood of them back then...Mark King of Level 42, George Anderson of Shakatak, John Taylor of Duran Duran

I saw the thumbnail and I was like "Isn't that the Neverending Story dude??" I thought he was a one-hit wonder but I guess not!
Is this a British band? Or a mix of European nationalities?
@@57highland Yes, they're British... formed in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England in 1978, initially calling themselves Art Nouveau ("new art") until 1981. They then brought in Christopher Hamill (b.k.a. Limahl) and renamed the band Kajagoogoo, a slight alteration of "ga ga, goo goo" from the typical onomatopoeia that most infants make. After Limahl's untimely termination from the band shortly after "Too Shy" earned them their one big U.S. hit, which led him to pursue a solo career, the rest of the band shortened the name to just Kaja.

Does anyone know what happened too Limahl and why was he fired from the band ??
This is one of those rare songs that has somehow been instilled with magic. It's absolutely spiritual and absolutely human. Makes me dance and cry tears of laughter and absolute joy. Makes me so happy!
You are not wrong. It has all to do with Limahl's singing.
I love this song so much!!! Makes me feel really Happy!!! 😍🙌🏻🎼
You may have an underlying medical issue.
Ho un français !
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING
I used to laugh at this song as a kid. Now as a 40yo adult I consider it a work of genius. The mood captivates you immediately, like the beginning of "Self Control" (either version). The structure, harmonies, key changes, instrumentation are all innovative and perfectly placed. What this group packs into 3 and 1/2 minutes many, many others attempt to express in full albums or an entire career. The experimentation and freedom of the 80s remains unrivaled in pop music.
Best of the best 👍👍👍
To all those here...
Good luck getting this chorus out of your head during the next 6-12 hours.
oh God...so true
How do you think I feel
Exactly! I woke up, hearing this song in my head!
Am I the only one that plays random songs, from impulse?!
😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Hahaha!! Ya!
2020 - a year so bad we could only save it with 80s music...
Yes!!!!
Indeed
I can save you all!
Nice one.

Wish I could go back to the 80's
Me
What a bass line!
I remember I was 13 when this song came out. Everytime I went to the out door swimming pool they had this in the jukebox. Every 10 minutes someone would put a quarter in and always picked this song. I heard it at least 20 times a day but I ain't complaining 🖤
Yell yeah with sum hardass taqutios and waters quac
That’s why I still listen to 80s & 90s
"Too Shy" is one of the greatest songs of all time and the bass line is so godlike. Just an amazing tune.
TOTALMENTE DE ACUERDO SKIP , SALUDOS PARA TI Y TU FAMILIA DESDE ECUADOR.
You can like a generic pop song from the 80s without claiming it being "one of the greatest songs of all time".
-_-
i loved Big Apple too
You put that beautifully. ♥️
too Shy, one of the best songs of all time? hahahaha, hahahahahahahaha, great joke, thanks, it was getting a boring day.
This song is amazing. So many moving parts. Listen in headphones. The keys, the bass, the drums, vocals & background vocals. As a musician you just have to appreciate all that's going on in this song. It's too bad the band couldn't get along with the lead singer because I truly believe they had a lot more than one huge hit in them. This song never gets old.
The hook on this song is so strong and the synthesizers were such fun, I didn't realize how masterful the bass was. For years, I thought it was just another pop confection, but I was very, very wrong
That bass riff is amazing
You can't beat the eighties
Ruth Feeney facts👍
No, no you can't. You really can't. Hahaha.
The Nineties tried so hard 😂
No you cannot. They were so awesome. I turned 14 in 1980. I remember each year like it was yesterday.
U got that right
If the whole song was as FIRE as the intro it would have been on top 10 of the 80's for me
From psychedelic furs new order my children I love this music my daughter is 33. My son is 23 and they love it from Austin Texas.❤❤❤
