Dear Paul, a few hours ago I, 56, had the chance to witness you the first time live, here in Erding, Bavaria in a small venue. You were one of my idols of my youth. I grew up with your wonderful music and voice. My all time favourite is and was always the song "No Parlez", followed by "Behind Your Smile", both you performed tonight.❤❤ It was a great great concert and I am deeply grateful for having been there. I was living in Surinam Guyana that time trying to finish my study. I had to leave for Holland, cus the soldiers took over the country and made a mess. Living in Holland for a while, I got kicked out, because of my passport. Finally I winded up on a beautiful island in the Caribbean where I met a very nice girl, today my wife for over 40yrs. This all during a decade when the music was top.!!! It was a nice adventure, and I would do it all over again.!

I was 20 years old when this song came out. The girl I'd been dating for the past two years had broken off the relationship. I was crushed. I must have listened to this song in my dorm room and in my car 1000 times. Oh how I wanted her back; I truly loved her. Fast forward 10 years later and I'm a pharmacist with a fiancé when I get a call from the past; It's her! I agreed to meet for drinks one night in Atlantic City. It was amazing to me, when suddenly in the course of that rendezvous, after all those years, it occurred to me that I'd actually dodged a bullet. Afterward, in the lobby, I did as she had done ten years earlier and kissed her on the cheek.said goodbye, and walked away, back to a woman who has been my wife and the mother of our five children for the past 29 years. Thank God for unanswered prayers.

@@christianmarre7517 Honestly Christian, to explore; In terms of possible love lost then renewed. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have, but I was still relatively young. In short, yes I was happy with my relationship,, but I remembered a happier time when my mom was alive, I felt more vibrant, I was younger, less cynical and she was angelic in my eyes. But my eyes were opened.
You held a candle which was extinguished upon talking to her again .
You realized you had grown UP since that time and could move on .

Lost both my parents when this track came out,i was sent to a kids home ,music like this saved my sanity,but on a more positve note the staff and other kids in the home made me realise that life was what we make it.

Legends 80syeh Legend Not if you grew up in Eastern Germany, though, like my parents. 1989 was the only good year from the 80’s for them, they never had a chance to live the 80’s like they did in the US and western Europe. On the other hand, this makes them much more grateful for living nowadays than most people.
I never had the luck to experience the 80s but I'm glad the internet gives me the opportunity to experience 80s culture. I would take 80s music over almost everything from my era. Weird bc my parents never adored the 80s like I do even though they experienced them.

The brown haired pretty girl in this video is model Stacey Smith who went on to marry Paul Young to become Stacey Young and they had three children together and Paul Young also became step-father to their fourth child after they separated and she got pregnant by another man,but got back together again. Stacey Young died on the 26th of January 2018 of brain cancer. R.I.P.

I love the bass guitar and keyboard sounds in this song. This was number 1 in germany for many weeks in very late 1983 and early 1984. I like the cold atmosphere and the bass in the verses. December 1983 was very cold I read and this song fits perfectly in that time.

I heard this on the radio last week on the Awsome 80's radio station from the UK .its a great station because stations here in the states do not play music like this any more .God bless the 80's
Personally i think this song has a more lasting place in my life then "Everytime you go", which some consider your crowning achievement. This song still resonates for me, as well its very catchy, find myself humming it frequently. I also Love that your soul mate Stacey, is in the video... May she RIP!
