Imagine if FNAF came out officially on the Wii U. The potential of using the gamepad to check cameras while having the office on the TV would be amazing. You would still have the feeling of being partially blind while looking at the cameras as you have to look down at the gamepad and interact with it physically keeping your attention away from the office doors and windows. The Wii U version would be extremely unique to other consoles and be a fresh feeling take on the series.
That would require Nintendo actually being smart with the Wii U; but they already failed that when they named the thing.
Coming from a die-hard Mario fan
@@MarioYoshi4723 Nintendo Land did a good job utilizing the gamepad.
It'd make it way too easy, since you could check the cameras while still having full view of the office. It would also make it impossible for Bonnie or Chica to kill you since they only enter the office if you have the camera up.

Fun fact: Foxy is not stopped by checking Pirate's Cove. It's just camera usage in general. This means keeping your cam on 4B is actually able to stop Freddy and Foxy at the same time.
Yea idk why people think pirates cove cam is the only cam that stops foxy, even phone guy says that you just have to be on cams in general

7:48 Sounds like Bonnie and Chica pacing back and forth in front of the door because they're worried about death by DMCA.
foxy actually works the same in the main game, he runs after a certain amount of time or when you check the hall if he's out of his cove
To be more precise, he runs after a certain amount of frames, which is 1500. So that means if your game runs at less than 2 fps, you can finish the night without doing anything since Foxy won't have the time to run.

Hello, I'm one of the developers who works on the console ports of the original FNaF games. The bad touch controls on Switch are my fault, we recently overhauled how the touch controls work but they still need some tweaking as you can see. Looks like I need to expand the touch zones for the cameras especially, I know a good way to do that and will implement it next time we patch it. Could you clarify what you mean about panning with touch controls at 5:35 though? As for the camera toggle button mapping, the L button was chosen on Switch for parity with the other consoles, since the ZL button on Switch is digital while it's analog on the other consoles, and so it would feel weird on other consoles. We're hoping to someday allow remapping the controls in-game though, and I'll make ZL a secondary by default in that case. Thanks for your feedback on where we can improve the console experience!
Hi, very surprised that this video even reached you!
In terms of the L button, after that explanation, I totally get it, there are definitely some hurdles that are hard to overcome when dealing with a multi-platform release, and the top L bumper makes a lot more sense for something like Playstation controllers. I think my issue is just that the L button on the switch controller is too small, which is out of your control haha. Would very much appreciate re-mapping buttons.
In terms of the touch controls, while yeah the dead-zones on the camera need to be fixed (I tried the newer update and it's *better* but still misses some inputs), I actually figured out the controls for the panning office after playing with them a bit after the fact, and I think it's just a communication issue. Unlike the mobile games, there are no guides for how to properly control looking to both sides, so like I assumed it worked like it does on ios and Android, where you like tap either side and then it moves you across the room, not like a swipe that you can manually control. For that part I don't think it necessarily needs to be "Fixed", but I never saw any in game guide on how to control the game both with touch controls and via the controller. You just kinda have to tinker with it, which you don't really have time to do when Bonnie is breathing down your neck lol.
Forgive me if I communicated the idea that the Switch port was bad or broken. That was not the intention at all. It is a very good port! The controls just needed to be tweaked a bit to be more optimal.
Bravo on the SB port tho, the control adaptation on that was phenomenal and that and it just worked.

7:17 I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Foxy in the original functions the same way to an extent. After he leaves pirates cove, he starts a timer that's around 20 seconds or so and will wait in the left hall to start his run at 0. However, at any time in that period you can look at the left hall camera and that will immediately initiate his run animation. This sounds like what you explained for the 3DS port, so they might be the same or the 3DS one just takes longer (or he doesn't have a timer till attack).
Scanned through the comments to find this. You're totally correct.
I remember back when I played this version a few months ago, Freddy was legit camping my door on night 4 from about 1 AM until my power ran dry. I haven't beaten this version because of that tbh. Happens waaay too often
This just sounds like regular Freddy in fnaf 1. He generally doesn’t move away from the office, only moving towards you if he is allowed to.
I cant believe this right now! A few weeks ago I got back into FNaF once again and since I recently modded my 3DS and got the N64 SM64 port I've been wondering, did the same ever happen for FNaF? But because of school going on and being busy all week I didn't get a chance to look it up, and I was also worried about being a little disappointed and finding nothing for it. All of a suddenly, as if CZcams knew what I was thinking the entire time, it completely surprises me with this video!!
Five Nights at Freddy's 1 has always been my favorite in the series and I've been thinking about showing it to my cousin, who sees me with my 3DS a lot since I take it with me, so I'm pretty happy! Especially since the 3DS is my favorite console!
if anyone wants to check this out: I believe this only works on New 3DS modes, not the original runs, so if you happen to only have an original model of the original 3DS/XL/2DS, you may be out of luck
EDIT: I'm getting replies saying it _does_ work on old models, so I guess I was wrong! must've been thinking of something else
No, it does work on the originals.
I have it on a old 2ds have since long before this video
Liar. It works on the OG 3ds.

"Nobody has a Wii U"
Me, having bought a Wii U 2 days prior to this video: :skull:
This was made by one person named FreDev who worked on different fnaf ports as well for the 3ds. He is a very talented homebrew dev, he does have other ports of fnaf games like 1-4, although I haven't seen gameplay of them. He also worked on a port of Baldis Basics for the 3ds and the Fnaf games on the PsVita.

I recently found this channel and I’m in love with it. Mike has a great sense of humour and the animation is really charming. Keep it up 👍
So did you know that there's a fnaf 2 and 4 port for 3ds, yes the fnaf 3 port was announced but not release yet
The 3DS version got ported to the PS vita and is just as enjoyable.
4:11 are those full joystick replacements or just nice little covers for them? If so, where’d you get them? The rubber cover wore off my circle pad and I can’t find a replacement, only full plastic circle pad replacements.
Holy crap, I've thought the same thing! And while I'm not a big fnaf player, I knew something was up with the animatronics. Also there's ports of fnaf 2, 3, and 4 as well for the 3ds! Unfortunately they aren't super polished, one glitch I remember from FNAF 2 3ds was being able to have your camera up and have your mask on at the same time, also FNAFs 4's moving animations were cut, but I guess that's to be expected on something like the 3ds. Anyways, awesome video, I love anything that still gives attention to the 3ds, definitely one of the best handhelds of all time!
There should be a Wii u version, the cameras could be on the gamepad and you use the touch screen to control them and use the analog sticks to turn in the office on the tv screen and the shoulder and bumper buttons for doors and lights.
5:37 I think what would be a good fix is that the switch has an option for this where you can choose the sensitivity of the touch screen. Maybe that'll help?
FNAF on my refrigerator monitor is the greatest gaming experience of my life
Ah yes. A classic game. Fnaf for 3ds. Very legal
i mean it is, i think. it is a Non-Profit remaster built using it's own code (hence making it technically seperate, atleast. legally)
@@handlebarevildimension but the textures?
@@mrfoxfam562 since it's free, it's equivalent to a fangame using those textures.
Foxy is definitely not the most dangerous animatronic. You don't even need to have the camera on Pirate's Cove, you only need to have the camera on. You can put your attention on the actual threat, Freddy, and keep the camera on his location to prevent him from advancing towards your office.
Yeah, I was about to say that as well.
What about this port? It was built from the ground up
7:17 You never have a reason to look at the hall cam in later nights, so Foxy is not a threat. He's even less dangerous in this version
Great video! This feels like old youtube with a bit of a modern twist
Lil did he knew that 1 year later we got the Fnaf Movie
I remeber playing this port a long time ago, is very surprising that they managed to make it work there. But also if I am not mistaking there is more fnaf ports on the 3ds, I saw ports for Fnaf 2 and 4 as an example
there is also a 3ds port for fnaf 3
Very interesting as I would like to see a home brew version on the Wii U next :)
First time watching this video on your channel, enjoying it already
1:37 I can’t believe it’s 2076 already 😂
I was today years old when I realised there was actually a 3DS port of FNAF
“So that begs the question-“
**gets Nespresso ad**
When u said “that begs a question…” and an Asana ad that starts with a question.
I had an idea for a 3ds port similar to this before watching the video, but I'd still like to mention it anyways since it has one cool addition to add.
There would be two modes, an original mode and an exclusive 3ds mode.
The original mode is the same as the pc version, with only the bottom screen being used.
The exclusive mode, though, takes advantage of the top screen by allowing you to send one of the cameras on the top screen to allow you to keep tabs even when you drop down the camera. The drawback would be that it would also use up power and the animatronics would be balanced to fit this new mechanic, making some like Freddie and Bonnie more dormant, while Chica and Foxy would be more aggressive.
Great video as always!
I feel like "better" is a bit of an overstatement. But it's certainly much more impressive than the official ports out there.
Golden Freddy is actually in the switch version of fnaf 1, it’s the first place I found him, I got fnaf on my switch about a year ago and saw the poster, and I even have a recording of it
BRO AS IM WAITING FOR IT TO DOWNLOD ON MY 3DS I FIND THIS VIDEO ONG🗣🗣🗣
Lmao, I downloaded this port like a few weeks ago, and now I'm getting a video about it. This is the biggest coincidence
finally someone talking about this! I remember showing this port to my friends and their minds were blown
As of today, October 28th 2976, I can confirm the Five Nights at Freddy's movie has been released
I liked the Wii U a lot more than the switch. The only issue that the Wii U had was marketing. Commoners didn't know the difference because Wii U has Wii in the name.
You hate the switch?
Him: the game movie will come out in 2075 . 2023: bruh
Mikeonut: "Is this legal?"
3DS: "Probably not"
Me: "Good, Play it!"
7:21 From what I could tell the mobile port does the same thing. When I saw Pirate’s Cove empty, I’d get off the camera, close the left door, go to where Foxy would be running, hear him slam, and open the door again
I never even knew it WAS on the 3DS, even if it is a fan port
Actually, if I recall correctly foxy doesn't start running until you look at the hallway he's supposed to come through in the original release either. I have the original copy and it's always been like that for me at least. I think him running through the halls whether or not you check the camera for the hallway is a feature that was added with the console ports and Help Wanted. Cause in the pc and mobile version, I can swear that that wasn't a thing. He would ALWAYS wait for you to check the hallway camera before he started running so I'd always have the luxury of checking pirate's cove, putting down the camera, closing down the door, picking the camera back up and then checking on foxy which would thereby trigger his running animation and wadduyu know, the danger is pretty much non-existent.
Dude, you know the Switch lets you customize your controls in the settings area, right?
Very cool, I always imagine what a fnaf ds port would look like
I have the Core Collection on my Switch, and FNAF 1 is the only one that lets me use touch screen.
Ayo, long time no see! This came up on my recommendeds, and I'm amazed how far you've come man! The video was great, but the 3DS is a handheld, not a console silly >:P

The stickiness of the switch screen might have something to do with how the touchscreen is set in the settings of the console.
I had problems for it for months because it annoyed me so much that I had to furiously poke it just to get a 4 letter word out of it.
sadly they wont make an official FNaF 1 3DS port because they stopped making games for the 3DS :( so this port is all we've got
Mike: I wouldn’t be surprised if this was taken down when this video comes out
Me: thank god I happened to download this exact port to my 3ds last week
assuming the mechancis are the same as on PC, you don't need to check pirate's cove, you just need to use the cameras in general to make foxy stay in place(it's why the foxy trick in night 1 only works when you don't use the cameras at all)
Just pointing this out. The touch controls on Switch aren't touch controls, they're mouse controls being translated as touch controls in handheld play because they use the same input method. When you plug in a USB mouse in docked mode, you can play it like the original PC release essentially. This is why the office scrolling is weird.
it wouldnt be possible to put the cams on the bottom considering the fact that when animatronics enter your room when you are in the cams they pull down the cams to jump scare you, so you wouldnt be able to both see the office AND the cams
1:27 That one didn't age quite so well...
I didn't really have a hard time adapting to the Switch's control scheme, I beat the 4 20 mode within the first 2 - 3 hours of playing, the only problem I had was accidently switching cams when I was trying to cam stall Freddy but that was it
I got an ad for a restaurant called Freddy's💀
That was interesting. Thank you!

little does he know, the movie comes out in October!
With the Touch Issue you should check your switch's Touch Screen Sensitivity as you might have it on the lower setting which is why it is so bad with reactivity compared to a phone
5:50 This is a switch problem, all switch games have this problem, there is a slight fix, and it lies in the calibration settings.
