- Mount Triglav in the Julian Alps is the icon of Slovenia. It is often done in 2 days and has a solid Via Ferrata section in the last mile. This cables on the hike reminded me of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Mount Triglav is an awesome hike which I would highly recommend!

Such an awesome video, thanks for sharing. Going to try and do this myself in September whilst Steph takes on an ultra
Nice! You will enjoy it. It is a great day!
Great video, planning to go there myself this summer, maybe not on top of the mountain though but more of a loop for multiple days around the lake
I hope you get to visit the area...it is really beautiful!
Great quality video
Thanks!
Congratulations on this achievement, allthough i am a bit dissapointed that you didn't get spanked with a climbing rope. It is a tradition for all 1st timers who achieve the top.
Beautiful Slovenia.
It really is!
Congrats on running up that mountain
Thanks...I appreciate it!
Hi, your video is great. You did not use any via ferrata kits or a helmet. How vital is this for a mid experienced hiker? Loose rocks, dangerous places without a cable? Was there many others like you? may be half?) I noticed some people moved very slowly, clipping themselves on every cable. May be only like them need this kit and helmet in particular? Thanks.
Hi Elena,
I would recommend a via ferrata kit and helmet. I think that unless you are very experienced it is better to take them than not. I felt like the rock was solid and would say that maybe 20% of people did not have this kit. Better to have it than wish you did.
Hey, Slovenian citizen here...i climbed Triglav for the first time in September, and it would be no stretch to say that I was/am an aaaaabsolute begginer, i had my gear on me, but plenty of people didnt, I could have easily climbed even the hardest of routes bare-handed
What shoes you had during the climb? Nice video by the way
Thasnks! I like using hoka speedgoats
So beautiful. Is this part of Dolomites
The Julian Alps is a little east in Slovenia
Hello, whats your opinion on doing the climb with a dog ? Are there a lot of wild animals, and is the trail straight or it includes some rock climbing etc ?
I would not climb this with a dog as the last couple miles are challenging and you need your hands for sure.
Hi! Very nice video! Is there somewhere a gpx trace of your hike to be consulted?
@@Anachkin_Adventures Hi there! I put it on Strava. strava.app.link/NHJ9MUpO7Kb
@@theworldhiker1 Thanks! I'm considering doing the same as you next week 😁
@@Anachkin_Adventures great! Hope you have fun 😁
@@theworldhiker1 I hope so too! Will try to make a little video about it 😊
@@Anachkin_Adventures sounds good!
Hi, what camera did you use here?
I use a go pro hero 10
Is mount triglav and triglav national park the same thing or is it two different routes? Oh and where can we spend the night during the hike as it takes 2 days? Thank you :)
Mount Triglav is in Tiglav National Park, so we can say that it is the same area.
There are mountain huts on the mountain that many people stay in.
Nice video, can you share the gpx route of this?
My watch broke last summer so I don't have the GPX for it...sorry about that!
This route starts at Rudno polje. via Studorski preval to the first hut called Vodnikov dom. then he went to Planika hut but for a better experience, I recommend Kredarica for going up and Planika going down.
Which route did you take? Coming from north, from Aljazev hut? Or from south?
I believe I came from the south
this route is from Rudno polje.
@The_Andvarius I did go from south, all the way from Bohinj lake. It was tough, first day was 2500 m elevation, 21 km, 2nd day was around 1000 m elevation and 15 km back to the parking lot. But the scenery was worth it.
@The_Andvarius there are shorter routes, too :)
What month is that? I'm going to Triglav in June, is it to cold, or fine?
This was in July. I would check trip reports online if possible before you go.
at 1:17 it is not "Dom Planika", but Vodnikov dom na Velem polju. + very stupid that you did not wear a helmet. Anyways, congratulations on summiting our highest peak :D
Do you need a guide or gear or something to get up there? I suppose if you just walk up like shown in the video nobody's gonna stop you, but what's the sensible thing to do there?
@@makelovenotwar2467 depends. U need gear if u're not experienced enough - but helmet, always. Ofc nobody can stop you
@@denistitovsek yeah I'll guess I'll just skip triglav then. Enough more relaxing mountains around there. Anyway, thanks for your assessment!
@@makelovenotwar2467 Nature will stop you and then you will get a free ride with a helicopter (hopefully not in a body bag).
Should you hold that steel cable in a thunderstorm🤔
dont be there during storm?
You wouldn't be climbing during a storm 💀
No matter how much experience you have should have had a helmet on , as you are putting others at risk if something had happened to you . Seen it so many times.
