What The Rangers Tell You Before Climbing Mount Rainier

If you are prepared to climb Mount Rainier, here is how to get your walk-up permits:
1. Purchase your Annual Climbing Permit, $68
NO NEED to purchase a vehicle timed-entry pass because you must arrive at the Paradise WIC by 7 a.m. to be competitive for walk-up permits. Timed entry permits are needed for entry starting at 7 a.m.
2. Drive to Paradise, plan to arrive before 7 a.m.
3. Lineup at the WIC ~7 a.m. WIC opens at 7:30
4. Fill out paperwork and get walk-up permits for DC Route and campsite, $6
5. Start your climb.
