    Hey Janek. First, great vlogs and I love watching them!! On your zip ties. If you take a lighter to the ends and melt them a bit, it will take the edge off and keep them from biting you. I'm an "IT guy" and I work with TONS of zip ties all around me all day. And that little trick has saved at least one layer of skin on my knuckles!! Hope that helps and looking forward to the next vlog!!

    Your vlogs are amazing! I come home after school, do homework and watch your vlog. Thank you for doing them! If you get a shot to, and view into your bass collection would be cool. Also, if you do so, would you talk about the new Fodera basses you are trying at NAMM? Cheers!

    Fun vlog today! When using my larger Pedaltrain board I usually mount the power supply (I have the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus) on the underside of the board since there's enough clearance for it under there. I then run the power from the wall to the input of the power supply through the holes you ran all the power cables to the pedals through. I hope that was explained clearly enough to not be confusing. Anyways, it's just another way of doing the same thing, but you won't have to worry about your board not fitting into the case that way and will have some extra slack in the lines going to your pedals as well.

    Great video and rundown of the new pedal-board. In wonder how do you keep two independent loopers in sync, I would expect them running out of sync after some time?!

    Great vlog today. I love sitting down and re-doing or making a new pedalboard. I couldn't help but laugh a little when you had the big stretch in the middle. I think that may be the hardest part sometimes, just sitting that long on the floor while you get everything squared away on the board. Looks like you are going to have some great sounds on hand for the NAMM show, and I am definitely looking forward to hearing your performance at the Bass Bash. QUESTION: When you use a ring modulator, where do you typically put it in the signal chain? I just picked up the DOD Gonkulator Ring Mod and am having fun experimenting, but would love some suggestions of combinations you like.

I'm a jazz drummer striving to learn bass and your a huge inspiration musically and in life in general. Keep on doing what your doing man! Oh, what is the name of name of Craig's Album by the way?

    Hi Janek,
    Great Vlogs!, question about Ditto looper stereo or mini. I am using this looper now but one thing I don't like is the stop function on it that you have to press twice to make it stop, and if you miss that double click by accident as you know it will go to the next function instead of stop. I was thinking to switch to Ditto x4 because it has dedicated stop. So I was wandering if you get to that problem and how do you handle it? thank you!

  • @anthonyhenry4313
    @anthonyhenry4313 Před 4 lety

    The old Japanese OC2 was built to be used with the Boss ACA adapter which puts out 12v. Are you running the Octaver at 9v?

  • @ansonstiles
    @ansonstiles Před 7 lety

    I'm on a pretty good track to match this setup. Just have to upgrade to the power brick from a power-all. Get a proper octave (Octabvre), bit crusher (Ottobit jr) and delay (Nemesis) 🤢 and I should be set up for the summer! Thanks for the walk through

    Just curious, do you think it's necessary to have an isolated buffer at the beginning and end of your signal chain to eliminate signal loss? I know of electric guitar players doing this on their boards, but haven't been aware of bass boards having it. Thoughts?

  • @kindnick58
    @kindnick58 Před 7 lety +2

    Janek, quick question... have you ever had a prized instrument damaged? And did you have it repaired or did you feel like it was not part of you anymore and just sell it and move on?

  • @LuisSethakorn
    @LuisSethakorn Před 7 lety

    Is that a "DC" version of OC-2? I got a Japanese one and have to use "AC" Adapter ...
    Great Vlog ... Love it so much man.
    Cheers!

    • @NTB_Retro
      @NTB_Retro Před 7 lety +1

      Luis Sethakorn none of the OC-2 pedals use AC voltage as such. The older pedals use a system that Boss call ACA. It outputs 12V DC (unregulated). There is a voltage divider within the pedal that drops the voltage to something closer to 9V DC. The newer system that Boss use is called PSA. PSA adapters put out 9V DC (regulated). Both ACA and PSA adapters deliver DC power, just at a different voltage.

    You may wanna stick a limiter on the 2buss when bouncing the audio... Levels are all over the place (music vs voice). Something like a simple Waves L1 should do the trick. Cheers!

    Hello Janek, I am a bass player. Who has been interested and follow on youtube since..... 2007 i do believe and i was so amazing the conception of how you approach bass. To be honest it was quite difficult for me. Because i just play bass(Root, church meat playing) I have alway wanted to play like i have heard other play chords, melody etc. So after listen and watching. About 2 years ago after having my 1 child(son). I wanted to challenge myself. So thank you for these video old & new. The question i want to ask is Iron Ether Oxide Fuzz a bit crusher? I have been trying to find one and it hard. But i did run across on but its in Israel IE Franta Bit. I dont know if i want to get that one.. Yet the Oxide Fuzz one is here in the states. If you help me with that answer that will be help and great. Thanks Janek for all that you share with us followers.

  • @MADMANMUSICINC

    Hey Janek listen man I don't want this to come off as me sounding like I don't appreciate these videos because I truly do. You are an AMAZING bassist and have accomplished so much in your career and having you share your knowledge and experience with those of us that are trying to climb that hill and get to where you are is....well its awesome man! It really is and thank you for it! I personally have learned so much from your vids not only on playing the bass but you offer so much more that all of us out here can learn from like gear and how to approach a session. Wow! I don't know what else to call it but AWSOME! So at the risk of sounding unappreciative could I suggest that you use some "better" Segway music in your videos like when you fast fwd the footage? To me its like here you have this great video and you cover great content then it kind of cheese's it up with the club music idk man I am sure that I probably sound like a numbnuts bitching about this but its just something that's kind of bugged me. But if I am honest you could sink up some porn music and I will still watch because the content is that good! Anyways man take care and thank you for the wonderful videos!!
