Riven, Sky, and Brandon felt like the only RF guys to be potentially fleshed out--but most of the time they were reduced to love interests with Sky getting the most screentime. I hope the reboot does him justice! Great art.
I liked the potential of Riven's character but I never liked the execution of his character in the show. Your version explores that potential and therefore makes him one of my faves. Also RivenXNabu yay!
I think what people get wrong about reboots is that a reboot, or any other term similar to it, is essentially ground zero.
If the writers/artists know what they're doing, going above and beyond besides just understanding the source material and adding something new or fresh to it, then that reboot would be lauded for everything it had right.
Sadly we now live with creatives and other workers that are just not paid enough, not listened enough and are only rushing something, and end up with a wasted thing.
I know how hard is to redesign such an iconic world as it is Winx Club (as someone redesining the transformations), so it always inspires me see someone so invested and passionate on the details and lore! Hope to see more 😄
Honestly this whole video was my brain going "hhhhhhhhh crop top characterization" and yea i love that.
On a serious note though i absolutely adore how you redesigned and rewrote him while still keeping that kinda jerk personality. It's beautifully done

i was a kind of a Riven defender for the seasons 1-4, I remember being mad because the fact that he was under a spell never felt addressed? I could recognize he was an ass but Musa was an ass as well to me, I think season 4 didn't help my view of Musa or any of the winx, I remember being pissed at some episodes in season 4 being I remember them making the guys jealous and then Riven got jealous at the producer and Musa wasn't understanding him? They just needed to fix their communication and it would've been fine but noo.
anyways, sorry to ramble, I'm thinking abt rewatching the series (again) now lol

As a child Musa (and Tecna) were my favorite characters and I was really into the idea of MusaxRiven. I liked that they had a troubled relationship and that Riven wasn´t a perfect person. I just rewatched season 1 bc I didn´t really watch that season a lot growing up and wow, he´s such a dick and I wouldn´t wanna have anything to do with him haha. I think in the redesign you fixed all the problems I have with the character in the original show while still keeping him kinda a jerk so I love it. I especially like the first outfit and there audio is really good this video
Croptops allow for a full range of motion 😂 I never followed the series past 1.5 seasons, but I liked Riven. Looking back, I dunno why. Maybe coz I liked Musa? (Or maybe I just like jerks loool.) Seeing a Musa/Riven relationship compilation made me cringe, coz they were so bad for each other. But I've seen fans reinterpret him in palatable ways. I like how you gave him some backstory to explain his aholishness without making him less so. Sure, he can have character development down the line. But I think it would help the narrative to have him around Sky, so Sky has someone pressuring/guilting him to do better as a royal.
yeah i definitely would have riven putting that pressure onto sky! he's very sheltered and doesn't know much about what life is like for the common person in eraklyon, and riven would def not hold back when it comes to reality checks.

I would really love to see some Ocs not necessarily as a part of the story just as a little fun thing I’d love to see what kinda fairy you’d be and her outfit you witch and your specialist whether or not he’s like a friend or bc or related to idk I just hope we get to see that soon from you

As for the eras, I've done some outlining and I'm trying to plan out characters more in an order that connects to the overarching plot. There's quite a lot of videos in that list 😅

I still love how talented you are. I know nothing about Kpop but I just love Riven's new hair and how you translated it. And I love the idea of Musa and Aisha and Riven and Nabu being couples, since I saw that Riven had a good bond with Nabu in the series. I loved seeing Nabu teach Riven his fighting moves and help him with his problems between him and Musa in season four. So I think they'd work well as a couple in a AU.
Hey there Teddy. I am so sorry that this comment and like to this video is so late. However, I was very busy at work. Anyways, I have to admit that this video was absolutely fantastic. I am not a huge fan of Riven, but your redesign of him wonderful. I really enjoyed that you were inspired by K-POP, while drawing him.
As for the lore of this video, I really enjoyed it just because you did a great job on it and gave us some wonderful insight into Riven's past, as well as his personality and name.

P.S. I am sorry if I didn't give you any information about my O.C. for Winx. It is just that I haven't fleshed out a good version of the character and I don't know if my character would fit into your version of the Winx Club.

I was wondering if I could just say smth, about the race stuff, with your musa and riven being analogous to East Asian descent. Since I’m pretty sure Helia is Asian too I think for a bit of diversity it would be cool if, when/if you do a rewrite of him his earth ethnicity was south East Asian? to just express more than one section of Asia, not just the eastern most side. Idk take my word with a grain of salt.

I’m one of those people that hated Riven, in the show he always seemed like such a toxic a-hole which is also why I absolutely HATED the pairing between Musa and Riven. I’m glad he doesn’t stay that way in your redesign also he still gives off f-boy vibes despite not having his ridiculous 00s anime boy hair 😂😂😂
I'm sorry but it's always funny to me when people perceive canon Riven as an f-boy. I love the man, but he dressed like a bottom and had the personality of a cringefail loser 😂 Like, yeah, he had more than one love interest in canon. But one used him then threw him away once she was done, while the other villified him for breathing wrong and got her way every time. This man is _not_ pulling women 😂
