Howdy! Here's some key info for you :)
- The game is free on the app store (apple), but 99 cents on google play (android) (as of 6/20/21)
- The game occasionally goes free on google play (as of 6/20/21)
With these 2 things in mind, NO. This game is NOT considered free. the Base price is 99 cents. Don't be like a few bozos in the comments who refuses to believe the game has ever cost money.

This may have cost something in the past but over the last fee years it has been absolutely free. Ads are highly misleading but just like any game, personal experience will vary. The only reason im defending thia game is because of the outright lies this uploader is spreading. This man needs to be reported. Smfh
@@MrPr1nglz 1:13 *look*
@@GeneMachine69 I did you incel. I will admit i was wrong in saying it was ALWAYS free but the vast majority of the time it doesn't cost a thing to download and play.
Seriously though: who tf whines about having to pay a single buck for a game that was made by individuals who apparently spent a large amount of time on? Im not affiliated with this company at all but given how often they offer it for free, I would gladly be willing to pay that little just to show my appreciation for the effort they put in even if it wasn't exactly game of the year.
Petty ass people like you do a disservice to those that genuinely put in a lot of time and effort just for the enjoyment of others.
â@@MrPr1nglz Ok, so now you understand that it costs a dollar.
Deceptive marketing for a paid product is illegal.
@@MrPr1nglz Yeah dude. Fuck em. If they want a buck, why not advertise the game for what it truly fucking is? They're already profitting off of older players paying for microtransactions.
The saddest part is that the creepy ads look like a very interesting game đ
Ikr that's why I looked it up and found this
Fr. I bought the game thinking I was gonna play some horror game but it ended up being some trash pokemon ripoff game.. good thing I got my refund so I didn't waste anything :l
go play omori then
They based it on omori
Yeah
If this game was anything like the ads I would play this game in a heartbeat
Me too tbh. I love horror RPGs
thats literally the point of the ads ^-^
You should check out Omori
@@justaspectator9762 it is on Android or iOS?
@@ianwest1624 no, but it is on computers and soon the switch iirc. It seems to be the game the evertale ads blatantly ripped off
These ads are fascinating, though, and I wish the person/people making them could just make their own thing.
Someone needs to make an actual horror Pokemon thing
@@RuniRiot yeah
@@RuniRiot just play a shin megami game
this ^
I'd be more interested in what the ads seem to be, basically DDLC by way of Pokémon
Kept seeing these ads, and they're REALLY heavily aimed at the horror/classic game fans.
I didn't start seeing these until I got into the RPG maker game OMORI. That first ad especially plays into OMORI's whole aesthetic: _Colorful fantasy game world is actually not real and is hiding something sinister._
(For heavens sake, the first room they show is just a straight rip-off of WHITE SPACE.)
It felt too convenient, and that's why I went looking for reviews of the game. Disappointing that it's just another anime girl gacha game.
Ironically the opposite happened to me
I found out about omori Because of the ads
Like bro why didn't they just make the game like they advertised it
It looked so much better than what you would of got
Yeah the first room is the same. I just blinked at it for a bit.
Yeah, they both ripped off omori and pokemon
Hot take: the whole "cutesy but underneath its sinister" genre is getting old.
I want an actual horror game based on Evertale's fake ads.
It would be one of the _few_ horror games I actually played.
That seems like a legitimately crazy game....and why do they do these ads?
@@Kuronosa
Click bait.
They have to do SOMETHING different, and it certainly is getting them attention.
@@slimeinabox when it would be easier for them to make the game they advertise lol
@@slimeinabox yeah why canât they just make an actually game based off the ads? Theyâd probably actually make good money if they just put some microtransactions or something
Radio The Universe Is Probably The Closest Thing That I Know Of..
Why won't the company just make a horror game if they want to? Will Pokemon just sue the game? If not then they can just make a creepypasta based game. I was actually interested at the ads.
Yeah, I thought it was a creepy, horror ripoff of Pokekon, that I was genuinely interested in because of these constant ads. But. Sadly, it isn't all that hype...
@@zavexheart6935 pokekon xd
Because that would take time and effort, and not to mention money. These companies are only interested in Maximizing profits while doing as little work as possible.
I agree. I was interested in the ads but I got fuck over instead.
@@TheGhostbuster1989 Bethesda?
No mobile add has ever made me actually interested in the game itself but this one did. Should've know it was too good to be true
I know I looked it up on CZcams just to see if anyone else is talking about it. This was the first video I came across and 2 minutes in and Iâm disappointed
exactly! me too!
There's also a Pokemon style ad with a dead girl and the character walks into the lab and asked about the dead girl.
There are actually a Ton of these horror ads of evertale.
That's one of the ads evertale made, ngl I would love if the ads were true
@@peak4534 same
I literally got that ad when I pulled up this video
@@anthonysaylor8120 same
The weird part is that these ads make the game look way more interesting than they should. If there was a fully fleshed out app with this kind of approach in horror, Iâd probably be down for it.
Omori.
To me, the fake evertale ads looked like a dark spin on PokĂ©mon, facing a world that would be more like what would actually happen if people had access to super powerful easy to find creatures, which I find a super cool concept! If that was what the game actually was, I would actually want to play it⊠too bad itâs not at all close to the ads.
It costs a dollar right......so couldn't someone sue for false advertising?
the location of the developers could pose a problem, but otherwise yup! If you were deceived into downloading a product, that is 100% false advertising, especially on the scale of this where they straight up show you fake unrelated footage
69th like. Nice.
@@tornadophantom4027 NICE!
Apparently on the mobile phone store its now free
@@brendanelstad669 probably didnât want to get sued lmao
That game broke my heart. I was so excited when i saw the add, because i'm a HUGE creepypasta and horror fan, ddlc is one of my favorite games because of it's terrifying gameplay. And the evertale adds gave me hardcore ddlc vibes. However, when i saw the actual game, it heavily disapointed me. The ads had more story than the game probably.
But this traumatic experiance inspired me to make my own delicious horror PokĂ©mon rpg with creepypasta and ddlc vibes. You're welcomeđ
Please post when done. I bet itâs gonna be great!
Have you heard of Omori? I think the ads were based off of it because the starts seems a lot like it- Omori is a really good game and I feel like you should check it out if youâre interested!
Traumatic? God youâre a fucking cringe fest
@@AliTheAxolotl the white space was probably copied on the evertale ads >:â/
If you ever do finish it, I'd love to play it lol
I wish that this game was real instead of a false advertisement it seems like a pretty good Pokémon like horror game. It reminds me of Pokémon strangled red.
try looking up omori
@@nyxthevampire2826 yes omori is so fucking good

I keep seeing Evertale ads, but they're nothing like this!
They're ALSO lying in the ads I keep getting, but instead it just made the game look more like a Pokémon game visually. (Think Gen 3 for the artstyle)
EDIT: I have to admit that the creepy ads make the game more interesting than it actually is.
EDIT 2: On the App Store, the game's currently free, but that doesn't excuse false advertising at all.
It's not free on the playstore
@@Deathaxel1998 Damn. It's a scam no matter what.
I came to the realization that the more exciting the advertising appears the more catastrophic the game is. The most entertaining games I played so far (and also the longest time) didn't had any ads.
I really wish I could keep the Evertale ads from appearing I often watch videos when I'm about to sleep, and then these creepy, loud AF ads play and spook the hell outta me
They aren't only a scam, but I see this everywhere
I think some people can get disturbed by these ads, that they randomly get when they want to watch a video
It really is a shame that this isn't a real thing.
Dark Pokemon games do exist.
But none of them that I could think of are as visually impressive as what the ads here show.
The most hallarious irony happend when I clicked on this video, the very adds of which you covered LITERALLY PLAYED BEFORE THE VIDEO STARTED I COULDN'T STOP LAIGHING
Same bro
I keep getting Evertale ads, but not the creepy ones. Itâs usually the ads styled like a PokĂ©mon battle. It showed official art for their monsters in the ad and it looked like it was made by Game Freak.
I keep getting those too!
At least they are showing you whatâs advertised
The only thing worse than a freemium game is a gacha game you have to purchase.
This game screams "Incel Bait".
looks like EA's mobile cousin who just started working to become like EA
The only incels here are the individuals crying over having to spend a buck to play, which is highly inaccurate to begin with. Stop being pathetic and contribute to society instead of being a cheap ass
@@MrPr1nglz The game is trash anyways, just like any other gacha game.
@@MrPr1nglz You are literally the one crying over people not liking a shitty business practice like an idiot. No they're not cheap. They just don't like being misled to play something THEY DON'T LIKE.
@@NekoHazrd If they don't like then don't play but we can all admit that bitching about wanting everything to be free is petty. While I don't condone the practices they used to bring attention to their game, it doesn't detract from the effort they put in to making it in the first place.
Imagine being asked to pull an extra shift at work and not get compensated for it. It takes a lot of effort to make these games and while its definitely not original nor is it game of the year material, its still far better than other games that charge 5 or more to play that has the amount of effort a 5 year old would put into a coloring book.
Its not required to pay anything to play much like 99 percent of all games on google play so to listen to anyone bitch and moan because the developers ask for a single dollar to play in between the other 10 months when its otherwise free is absolutely pathetic and just as shameful as the misleading ads they had to make just to attempt to be compensated for the time that went into making the game.
You people are throwing a temper tantrum over a DOLLAR
I never understood why they have to mislead people into a game that is unlike what theyâre advertising.
If they got the time to make ads like these, I donât see why they canât just make the ads into an actual thing. It actually looks way more interesting than the game that the ads are leading you to.
The only excuse I seeing is a lawsuit from Pokémon. But if they just put some twist on it then they could be able to make it.
This is a good opportunity as any, for people to steal everytaleâs fake ads and turn into a real game
If I could I would even reference all quotes and story from there ads into a actual game(for entertainment and for lore itâs a win win lol)
If the ads were like the game, God. I would totally play it. The whole "dark world" seems so interesting.
I was so damn confused, I first thought they were making a Creepy pasta Pokémon ripoff, which, legal issues aside, I would've definitely played, even if it was like a Horror gatcha.
But no, its just a run-of-the-mill fantasy gatcha game, what a disappointment.
I remember when "Lord Kres" did a similar bait-and-switch on Steam with a little puzzle game that was called _Journey of the Light,_ I believe... But the "first level" (really the only level) was technically unbeatable.
Full refunds were issued to all.
I genuinely have nothing against gacha games, be it for collecting Pokemon-like monsters or waifus. I don't even mind paying a dollar or two for a good game. If a game is particularily great, maybe I'll consider shelling out a few bucks to remove ads.
But this is honestly a travesty. I remember seeing this when watching an ad in A Girl Adrift for a powerup, and I was almost excited. Good thing I made sure to read the reviews before spending a dollar. Like, even if it was shit, I wouldn't mind downloading a dollar just to see what it's like even though I'm not into creepypasta. Just... it's the principal of it, you know?
agreed! I'm actually a fan of gacha mechanics in games, so long as it's done right. If it's done right, it makes a game even more fun imo
They got heavily inspired by omori for the first ad.
Btw Gene Machine. If you run out of topics, i got a Suggestion right here.
There is this "forgive us" as about Guardians of Cloudia were apperently from the ad at least 400 people worked on the game to fix every bug. They also showed in the background mostly fake gameplay.
I saw that ad it fucking sucked
i just finished Omori, i was so fucking terrified when I just now saw that ad and lowkey panicked for a few seconds
@@theluigifan42 they even have the fucking door in the top left
The first ad ripped off a Pokémon creepypasta titled Lost Silver to crap on Pokémon and basically insinuate with dogwhistles "Pokémon is for babies, jump ship to our edgy game for big boys and girls!"...in a way that obviously panders to children.
This one was really starting to piss me off, thank you for covering it!
Ok, the company has been struggling for years to sell this game to people, they realized that it was not working. They decided to make these Omori-like ads since Omori was a huge horror-rpg hit. It's kinda dumb, but there's nothing you can do. This game is free 10 out of 12 months, they give it away every so often, so I am not sure if it is truly illegal if you can get the game for free on all platforms 10 put of 12 months.
The developers have to make a living somehow. While i disagree with the tactics involved, it's not like they are actively scamming people to play their game. People are losing their minds over having to pay a buck when regular games cost 60. This entire video is highly misleading and overkill for a company that's just trying to make their efforts worth it.
Im not defending the game nor am I affiliated with them in any way. Im just trying to use common sense here and what's actually disturbing is how the uploader is deleting comments that call him out on these simple facts.
@@MrPr1nglz I'm just gonna say this real quick, this is a mobile game. Most people who play mobile games can't afford game consoles along with those games or are children who don't have jobs so of course they aren't going to like that it's not free, especially when games just like this are free, and since evertale in ads are presenting themselves as something they are not when people DO buy it with an allowance or something, they're gonna feel ripped off.
@@MrPr1nglz it would be fine if the ads werent so misleading and that the game in the ads were the game you played. Misleading marketing tactics like this game is creating is in fact illegal. There are laws against marketing tactics like these people employed. They may be well made but theyre still breaking laws.
Omori is hardly horror
@@MrPr1nglz if a company intentionally misleads their customers with misleading ads, i have 0 sympathy for them. may the company behind this game crumble and rot
Saw that sacrifice ad last week and was shocked... Saw the comments on the video and of course it's all people saying the ads have literally nothing to do with the game. It's wild how people can even think of advertising this way.
Nice, someone who can appreciate mobile game ads and discuss how bad they are
As a big fan of OMORI (as well as other RPG horror games lol) and old game creepypastas, I was so excited when I saw this ad! Bummer that itâs fake, I hope that they better represent the gameplay soon ://
Thank you so much for this video. I was really paying attention to those adds and wanted to get the game based on the ads. You saved me man! Thank you again. Great video by the way.
5:13 my experience with EVERY other gacha game besides AL.
They do it right...
AL you mean Azur Lane? If yes then i wish you a pleasant day fellow man of culture.
Damn these guys really tried to jump on the creepypasta fan games train.... Kind of late tho but still....
When you want to chill after a long day and you got creepy ads 2 times per video, that's horrible oh gosh
If someone knows how to mask those (not every ads only evertale) i would like to know
Best you can do is report the ads (if you feel they are worth being reported), or you can change your ad targeting settings.
Nice irelia profile picture btw!
@@GeneMachine69 lmao thanks, well see
I just got an evertale ad after clicking on this video, the irony đ
It sucks since I saw this ad just now and was genuinely interested in the game, but then when clicking on the images the art was completely different.

the thing is: the game is acctually really fun.
its a classic jrpg for the first few chapters, and then turns into chapter based stage combat.
ive come to like the characters, and over its acctually pretty good
edit: when i got it it was comepletely free
Thank you!!!
Edit: someone knows the game is actually fun.
I like how immediately after this video ended, I got an Evertale ad. The one with the monster tied down and dragged into the cabin and eaten.
The thing is...when I want to play a horror game or watch a Lets Play of it, I actively decide to. But these ads pop up in front of almost all of my videos and I really really hate horror stuff, when I didn't decide to watch it. It really can creep me out in the 5 seconds I *have to* watch and I really don't want nightmares because CZcams can't get their shit together and ban false advertisment...ugh...
I love your content! Mobile game ads are insanely interesting, and I'm so happy I finally found a channel that goes in depth about these things
I just got one of these ads and had a freaking breakdown. It was an obvious Pokemon knockoff with heavy horror elements, but then there were these random shots of waifus in, shall we sayâŠcompromising positions. I had seen some of the ads before, but they didn't have the waifus in them.
Saw one ad thought it was a cool game, then realized I saw another ad for it that was completely different and had to search it up
The ads make it seem like itâs a mic of Omori, Mad Father and Pokemon, which would be really cool
Got a creepy pasta ad from Evertale when I clicked
Wait, you have to pay a buck for this game? The only other paid game that I can think of that has a gacha system is Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and even then Xenoblade Chronicles 2 limits the amount of core crystals you can buy for money. I think that's bundled with the DLC pass. The only thing you can waste on the gacha in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is time to grind core crystals.
Brave Default also has a limited gacha in that you can buy potions that give you some time advantage in combat, but it's purely optional and you won't stall without any.
Wait you can buy Core Crystals in XC2 with real money? Or am I understanding you wrong? I've been playing XC2 for years and have never seen any irl money feature, so I think I'm understanding you wrong lol
@@Sylvias2448 If you buy the DLC pass I think it comes with a few core crystals for free. Other than that, there's no other way to buy them.
I have played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for about 30 hours and I have yet to see anything gacha about it. No, I see your point a bit, but it's a full-blown good rpg that you don't need to spend any money in besides the initial purchase imo.
I literally get an ad for this game the one with a little creature gets eaten by a monster inside of a log cabin right before this video started. So stupid.
Searched for "cringe edgy pokemon ads" and this is the first video which shows up.
Iâm sad that this game isnât actually a horror game. The ads looked really cool.
I've played this game because it was 100% off during one time and I was so bored. I enjoyed it for awhile with all the characters and stuff. Then got bored cuz a couple of those bosses are almost impossible to beat. I still play it for the characters but now I'm shifting my hours on Arknights. Now wish me a Mountain-
right? the bosses are so freaking hard, but if you use team strategies, then youll still manage to beat then somehow
@@clockmaker9273 Yeah! then it'll be a little easier until the next boss fight
The AD before this video was the evony:kings return game. With the dialog "do hate when game ads aren't the actual game, well I found the real deal" lol

Bro bro I lost my shit at 2:13 that was funny af đ
Saw the add, thought of buying it, searched it on youtube, saw this! Thank you for saving me a buck! :)
Evertales ads are just undertale but with mass amounts of gore and horror
decided to look into it after getting evertale ads nonstop recently, not to mention one on this very video đ
Itâs not even a 2d rpg game?! Iâve been getting these ads for the better part of two years now
Saw this before a meatcanyon video and thought it was part of the video lol
I saw this ad when watching a playthrough video of Pokémon White 2. And it was Pokémon style ad.
literally got an ad for evertale before the video even started and thought it was the actual video
I literally got the game now lol, thought it would something like kanye quest 3030 by one of the ads i saw gave me that vibe
There was literallly a ever tale ad before this vid
THIS EVEN GAVE ME THE NIGHTMARES WHEN THE AD FIRST CAME UP, HOW CAN THEY DO SUCH THING TO ME, IM STILL LIKE A 8 YEARS OLD BRO, THEY FREAKIN THINK ITS FUNNY TO SCARE ME D;
They basically made a pokemon ad with gore.
God I wish I stop seeing these ads it's scared me.
Itâs a shame because I remember first getting the game when it came out and liking it. It didnât need all those manipulative ads to catch my attention just the core game itself. So why do these people have to sellout loud and make such manipulative marketing? Also the game was free to play when it came out which makes it all the more saddening.
Has someone made a game like this? If not I really hope someone gets inspired to make a creepy pasta Pokémon like game that switches art styles like this.
Kinda want to play a poke-like game but the ads I saw that led me to this video made me think it was a game of horror and intrigue.
9 months later and still getting these ads, and the game is still up. Goddamn.
Damn I wouldn't mind a horror theme gotcha game. Oh well..
I was really wondering as I have played Evertale and really liked it. Atleast a year ago. It was fun for me and I saw these ads and was really confused. I thought: New DLC? New gamestyle? New Story? Nope still old shit and just a creepy ad.
I just saw the ad and it looked like a glitching PokĂ©mon game back it had pixel graphics and I was looking for the ad to send to my friend because I thought heâd find it interesting then I found your video
I got an ad for it when I clicked this video! Behind the demon gal on the Evertale logo tab it reads, repeatedly, "LIAR".
Man I thought this game was something like omori and I was pretty impressed, it looks pretty cool
its worse and worse the more and more i look at it. i was interested at first, but the ads made me kinda lose faith in the game cuz false advertising.
Not me IMMEDIATELY getting the Evertale horror ad RIGHT after the video đđ
Awww, that's too bad. I wanted a horror-based gacha. I still keep getting these ads when I play other monster collection-based games like Monster Super League.
You were the first videos that came up when I looked up Evertale ads, so thank you for your input on keeping people like me away from scams like this.
Someone should make a horror game based on the Evertale ads.
An Evony "loot puzzle" played at the beginning of this video.
Just perfect
I haven't played. Is ebony a game that actually has what the ads show?
@@TheCrazydude17 no, for a long time it was patient zero of games that had nothing to do with their ads. Eventually enough people got mad that they added a couple extremely rare opportunities to play levels like that so as not to technically be false advertising.
I searched for the game after seeing one ad, found this video, clicked on it, GOT an ad for evertale AGAIN and then became sadden as I realized it was all a façade
Thanks for this info I was like so confused. Thinking the creepy stuff came later in the game but never saw a inkling of any of the stuff I wanted to see.
Someoneâs gonna make a bootleg game of these ads to make the game separate.
At first i loved the adds, mainly because it seemed like two of my favorite games merged, omri and pokman, but as soon as i see this review, i mildly cried, as the game didnât actually exist
This stupid gameâs ads make 50% of my ads on youtube and they are ENDLESS.

Nice to see someone talking about this! Dosen't this count as false advertising? Sadly I gave this crap money (got it on sale for .99 but still...).
I almost got the game cause the ad looked cool then I realized its not similar at all
edit ; its ads also look inspired by omori and pokemon
God damnit I saw an ad for this, was genuinely curious, but wanted to look at it after the video. Then I immediately forgot the name and had to search it up and saw this video which makes me sad.
Started seeing a new round of ads for evertale. And it continues with the creepypasta game vibe which I didn't remember seeing the previous time. I didn't see this ad first
It's such a shame because I really would've liked to play a creepy twist on a classic RPG but then it turned out to be a mobile game like any other.
Sad since I'm an old player and I'm still playing it now spend money and time in the game for a year to turn out like this just hope they can turn the game around and start listen to their player.
Crazy enough upon looking this up I get an evertale ad
I seen some normal ads as if it was like a Pokémon game with its own twist but then I be seeing some of them with the same Pokémon aspect like before but with blood and murder xd
