    great video. i really like your idea about the witness marks to make a fast check of how the screw tightness is holding up!

      Its a great little trick I learned from some more experienced shooters, and I do it to all of my pistol optics now. It's helped more than once lol. Thanks for watching!

    If you need to remove the rear pins there are two small holes in the underside of the slide that line up with the pins. You can simply push them out with a very small jeweler's screwdriver or a straightened out paperclip. Very easy and no scratching up the slide.

    Are you able to do cowitness with the Truglo pro sights you have on there? Looks like they are shorter and can't see the front sight through the optics? Is this the case?

      Yes, they do cowitness! They give a very low cowitness, just above the body of the optic in the very bottom of the window. I picked these sights because I knew they'd cowitness but not take up a bunch of room like a taller set would. I have a video on them as well, check that out!

    Why do you have to remove the slide to mount the optic? Wouldn't it make more sense to keep it on the frame while removing the plate screws?

    • @realpracticaltactical

      Mostly because it's easier to work on a bare slide, but also for safety. Taking the cover plate off can be done with the slide still on, but mounting the optic should be done with the slide sitting on a stable surface to avoid it getting screwed down tilted or having the bit slip off the screw heads and possibly damage them

      Do you not have to use an optic plate on the Gx4?

    • @JaguarDieCast
      @JaguarDieCast Před rokem +1

      @@shooter3288 not as long as you have a optic that has a RMSc footprint. Taurus has a list of compatible optics.

    Is Taurus cover plate steal or plastic?

    Yeah ..always degreaser the screw holes cause lkcktite won't hold well if not .. And 13-15 inch pound on them no more ....theres almost always locktite on every screws now ..
