I really love Bioshock Infinite. Have played 3 times and going 4th soon. Please keep making awesome FPS shooters like this Irrational.
P.S. thanks for not adding multiplayer.
I actually would have loved a good multiplayer like Bioshock 2.

OMGitsDSypl Yeah, and it seemed even more painfull because Clash in the clouds is obviously some multiplayer leftovers they worked on before they canceled it.

Should've won game of the year. It was a great shooter, but that isn't even where this game excelled.

I miss the multiplayer from BioShock 2. Hope they bring it back in the next installment
I personally think that Bioshock Infinite was the game with the best story (Not only of the year but the best story of ANY game Iv'e played!) and definitely game of the year.
Best shooter though? No. Battlefield, Metro, even Call of Duty are better at the "shooter" part.
Amazing game though, My all time favorite with Bioshock 1 and then 2 right afterwards!

Try "the last of us", metro Last light, and battlefield 3-4.
FongLin100 The Last of Us isn't an FPS, Last Light was a pretty decent shooter, but there were a few places where it undermined itself, Battlefield 3 and 4 both had miserable single player experiences, and the multiplayer, while fun, is "dumb fun". I would love Battlefield to death if it had more of a meta-game, but that's my opinion on it.

Best shooter? Really? Infinite is an amazing and superb game, but it wasn't any groun breaking shooter, really. Then again, it's VGA, shouldn't be surprised.

I think you answered your own question.
It was more groundbreaking than cod or Battlefield or any other shooter this year (with the exception of Metro) with the addition of the Skyhook. What did Battlefield and cod have that was different from last year besides fuck all in BF's case and a dog in cods case?
Skyhook was an interesting mechanic, but it brought little variation to the overall gunplay. It's exactly the same as it was in B2, you fire your weapon and use Salts. Crouching, aiming, firing, jumping, running. There was no variation, nothing really good about the shooting mechanics in Infinite. If anything, Metro should have won. An award for a 'Best Shooter' should mean that the shooting mechanics combined with gameplay within a game are amazing, not just "Oh, [insert any shooter game name here] was a cool game and wins 'Best Shooter' award, because it was a cool game.' Because when it comes to Infinite being a shooter, it was a pretty average shooter. As a storytelling game, it was absolutely fantastic.
So, What!? Cod?
