    By the way, Padme's birth is shown very believably. She does not scream at the top of her voice and constantly, but only during contractions and then not loudly. Also, the viewer was shown that there is a break between contractions, when the woman in labor can rest a bit and gain strength. And then, judging by most of the films and TV shows, the expectant mother only pushes and nothing more. No one yells at her, “Push, push!” ten minutes straight. There is no fuss and noise. Of course, this is due to the tragedy of the scene, but such a believable depiction of childbirth is no longer found in cinema. The directors make action out of it. It's a pity... It's a pity.

    It’s so sad she was dying because she gave up she loved Anakin but she couldn’t live in a world where he was evil and working with the dark side but deep down she still knew that there was still good deep within him it’s heartbreaking when you think about it because Anakin let his ambition and obsession with the dark side destroy him and in doing so he lost padme
    I’m sure that if Padme had lived to see Anakin do right then she would be proud and happy to know that at least until the very end of his life he was able to change and come back to the good side even if it’s only for a few minutes
    But Padme’s death alone is heartbreaking because yes she was healthy but she wasn’t strong enough and gave up hope because in her eyes it was “the man I love has fallen to evil and if he’s evil then what’s left for me to stay in this world for? I had a chance to save him and I failed to convince him that the dark side was evil and for that I must pay my baby’s will do fine without me but now my time is up and that is my choice” it’s just really sad 😞💔

      I’m sorry but you’re wrong. The other comment above is right.
      When the robot said “we don’t know why she’s dying” it was because Palpatine was draining her life and giving it to newly cindered Darth Vader, who had just grievously avoided death by the hands of Obi-Wan.
      The robots would never have a clue that the reason she was losing willpower was because it was being siphoned through the force to strengthen Vader. It’s really dark, and while your sentiment is heartfelt, it’s sadly much darker than Padme couldn’t live in a world where her lover was evil.

If she had lived, somehow Sidious or Vader would have eventually found out and tracked her down and discovered the children, so by dying she could sell the deception that her child/children died with her. Note that at 1:48 Padmé is screaming in contraction, but she is NOT pushing. We don't see her making an effort. Therefore, it can be assumed that due to her weakness and rapid loss of strength, the droids stimulated the muscles of the uterus, and they contracted without the participation of Padmé. What was the stimulation (drug or other) I do not know. Perhaps it is the second option. Otherwise, what is this arched structure above the stomach for?
    P.S. These are all fan suggestions. Nothing more.

    I came late to the star wars party so when I finally did watch them, I always assumed that Luke and Leia were twins. I am now realizing that for what, nearly thirty years, it was kind of implied that leia was older. The course of these three films is the only reason they are twins. The fact that they wanted neither child to have ever met their father, they wanted anakin to never know their children, or child as far as he ever new, lived. Keeping their relationship a secret became paramount in attack of the clones. It's what makes leia remembering padme sound silly and like a mistake. I think they could have pulled it off if they hadn't focused on secret romance. Anakin and padme were married for a while before this film takes place. They could have had a secret child, and padme could have been pregnant with Luke. Everyone was already wondering what padme was doing all those years in between and no one had a clue about her babies father. Then as anakin might have tried to kidnap leia to raise her to the darkseid side, since at such a young age, she would know nothing truly about the jedi. He could have tried to keep padme in his life like before felt betrayed. It would have gone done the same but little leia yelling at daddy caused him to lash out at her to. Then he gets beaten by obi wan turned into the machine and still believes his family is dead by his hand. Meanwhile leia forgets her short little life from being force beaten by her father and only has a passing memory of her mother saying goodbye. I think, that if I had seen the films as they came out, I might have believed leia was older, and been surprised that they were twins. Just food for thought.

    • @nathanhopkins7976
      @nathanhopkins7976 Před 11 měsíci +3

      Intrestingly, Luke and Leia being twins is actually established much earlier than the prequel trilogy. In the 1996 radio adaptation of RotJ, Vader remarks in his fight with Luke that "You have a *twin* sister" when he realizes who Leia is. So clearly, Lucas had begun establishing that significantly earlier.
      I think you run into too many problems with the plot of the OT if you have Leia be older. It would be difficult to rationalize how Vader wouldn't be able to recognize her in Episode IV for one, and it would be equally difficult to rationalize how Vader is surprised to discover Luke had a sister in Episode VI. That this is established as a surprise for Vader is the strongest evidence that Lucas wasn't BSing when he said he wrote much of the plot of all 6 films fairly early, as that line also implies that Vader was never present for the birth of either of his children. Also, although I don't remember if Vader is ever referred to as "Anakin" in the OT, the 1996 RotJ radio series has Vader remark to the Emperor as he kills him "You were Darth Vader's master, but not Anakin Skywalker's," which I think also evidences that Lucas had some good backstory material for his characters.

  • @nathanhopkins7976

    Some have remarked that scene establishes a plot hole, with Yoda's decision to send Luke to Tatooine, but the apparent plot hole established in RotS actually originates much earlier in Empire, and is pretty easily resolved! After all, as early is Episode V you have to ask yourself: Why does Vader never go to look for his son with his family and his stepbrother Owen? Well, Vader outright states to Luke in their duel on Bespin that he wants him to join Vader and kill the Emperor, rule the galaxy as father and son. Vader has obviously long wanted to kill the Emperor who deceived him, resulting in the death of his wife, and because this is the way of the Sith. So why doesn't Vader go to Tatooine? Because *he knows* his son is there and wants to keep him a secret from the Emperor until he is ready to join him and betray his master! This goes awry in Episode IV when Luke leaves the planet and joins the Rebellion, which Vader doesn't realize until after the destruction of the Death Star, because he has presumablt still never seem his son in-person. His decision to leave Luke in hiding also rather nicely complements Vader's betrayal of the Emperor is VI. The goodness that Vader kept hidden from the Emperor, deep down, was his love for his son, which is ultimately awakened in Vader as he watches his son tortured in the throne room. He allowed this furtive goodness to dwell on his backwater homeworld, the world where he met his wife and lost his mother, the two people he cared most about, until that goodness sprouted and found *him*, ultimately redeeming him.
    Of course, that can't possibly work with the events established by the Disney cannon, especially the Kenobi series, but that stuff sucks anyway and should probably he decanonized if Star Wars is supposed to remain remotely coherent. Nonetheless, this explanation is definitely my headcannon.

    She's dying because she lost the will to live? Wouldn't just be about to give birth to her children be enough to encourage her to live, even if their dad was now the second most evil dude in the galaxy? They could have killed her off due to complications with the birth!

      To be specific, she died of a broken heart (from Anakin going rogue and becoming Vader). I'm sure seeing her babies helped a smidge in that moment, but the stress from everything else regarding Anakin killed her.

      @@sissysovereign1294 Yeah, and there's a theory out there that Sidious killed her by using Sith sorcery to transfer her life force to Anakin because he was dying from his injuries (he took advantage of their strong connection to one another while they were both vulnerable.)
