Attack of the Clones Extended Edition - Restored Deleted Scenes

  • This is a 15 minute 4K HDR segment pulled directly from my extended edit of Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones, simply titled "Attack of the Clones Extended Edition". A whopping total of 10 deleted scenes have been restored into this edit, all of which are shown in this 15 minute preview of the full Film cut. If you've seen the previous version, this is an updated v2.0 of the cut using newly AI-upscaled versions of the scenes, along with several other smaller tweaks to audio, color timing, and transitions.
The following Restored Deleted Scenes are included in this cut:
    Padme Addresses the Senate
    Jedi Temple Analysis Room
    The Lost Twenty
Obi-Wan and Mace - Jedi Landing Platform
    Extended Arrival on Naboo
    Padme's Parents' House
    Anakin and Ruwee
    Padme's Bedroom
    Dooku Interrogates Padme
    Anakin and Padme on Trial
Because of the incomplete nature of the library scene's FX, I improvised with stock/backstory footage from TCW and Galaxy of Adventures to fill in the visual description of Count Dooku's backstory. This scene's restoration gives viewers a much better picture of who Count Dooku was before the character even appears in the film itself, and I'm pretty happy with how the end result came out, all things considered.
Thanks to OTForums user for bryantmh creating a new script that upscaled these scenes nicely.
The cut is available in both 4K HDR and 1080p SDR, along with my other edits like the 4.5 hour Revenge of the Sith - The Siege of Mandaore Supercut, The Extended Phantom Menace Edition, Star Wars Episode IV - The Rogue Cut, and many more!

Agreed. But seeing as George Lucas went back and created that whole droid factory sequence, after living with a fully shot script for quite a while, suggests he was afraid the movie was short on action. And so the most important plot point - the romance - was sacrificed for a boring and way too dragged out action scene. I'm not suggesting a space romcom, but you have to make a romance believable or skip it altogether. Otherwise you end up with the involuntary comedy that is Ep 2.

Of course Palpatine had to find a way to get her out of the way in order to put his plans in motion. With Padme being there, the vote will most likely result in negotiation rather than violence. When both assassinations as a mean of discouragement failed, Palpatine resorted to getting her off world. Her being there is literally the biggest nail in the shoe for Palpatine. The scene also helped establish her character a lot and can be connected to her other speech in the Clone Wars series where she speaks against further expanding the Clone army.

@@officialmonarchmusic Absolutely agree. The prequels and their politics have expanded the Star Wars lore. Instead of what many thought was a circus with glow sticks, we got a vast and living universe, but some stupid morons found it boring and they said that "This is not Star Wars", or even "It does not feel like Star Wars" and other nonsense. It looks like they wanted Lucas to go the dumb Remake route and just copy the Original Trilogy.
Well, now they can be happy, we have "beautiful" sequels, where the whole plot is a poor remake of the Original Trilogies, and all Lore and politics are absent as a fact. And now we can enjoy this huge pile of....content and eat it with spoons until our stomachs get sick. I despise with all my heart this stupid Prequel Hate, George Lucas should have just waited for a new generation of fans to grow up and be able to perceive his creation without the rose-tinted nostalgia and stupid hate.

Dooku becomes a very tragic character, because he's basically this twisted version of Obi's master, objectively bad, but willing to compromise Palpatine's plan of taking over the Republic. But adding the parents scene was the most important but I actually feel they could have cut Obi Won talking to the younglings like Obi Won doesn’t need younglings to tell him the archives were erased

  • @arthurr.r.lucasspublicdoma5621

Like everybody else, I wished AOTC and ROTS got an extended cut back in the day, adding back a lot of the deleted scenes.
It's not like Lucas hasn't released extended versions of his movies before. Both of his director cuts of his first two films(THX-1138 and American Graffiti) add back five minutes of footage that was originally cut out by their respective studios.
The special editions of the original trilogy are longer than their theatrical versions(although only ANH had scenes cut from the original release added back in)
Finally, the 2001 DVD release of TPM is actually slightly extended from the the theatrical version. The podrace is longer, and there's an extra scene on Corsusant.
The point is I wish we got Extended Editions for the other two prequels. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

After a long time of shelving it in favor of the likes of Revenge of the Sith and The Empire Strikes Back(which are classics in their own right), I can honestly say today that after multiple rewatches, Attack of the Clones is actually my favorite Star wars movie. There's just something about the tone of intrigue in inevitability and the delaying of it. Of taking that first, fateful step into one's flaws. And of how everything just explodes as a result.
It's odd how these deleted scenes actually heighten the final scenes they were initially a part of or replaced by. A lot of the dialogue flows much more naturally without that utilitarian sense of moving things along Lucas typically displays. I know these were cut to save on runtime, but I honestly wouldn't have minded an extra fifteen minutes or two to let the world breathe as these scenes do. Revenge of the Sith has a lot of this too. It's altogether a very comfortable film even amidst its being very tense.

There’s a few that you didn’t include which I feel wouldn’t have made much sense so I definitely see why they were cut but everything shown here shouldn’t have been cut
It greatly expands the relationship with Anakin and padme that Lucas was trying to build and more thoroughly details who Dooku is as a person for the last few scenes and the library scene
