Revenge of the Sith 4 Hour Supercut - Unused Deleted Scenes
Vložit
- čas přidán 5. 09. 2021
- These are the deleted scenes taken from both a DVD and Blu Ray source that have been partially restored and upscaled. These are all the scenes that were NOT able to be used for the 4.5 hour Revenge of the Sith supercut, available to view in both 4K HDR and 1080P SDR. Most either have vastly incomplete FX (I.E. Shaak Ti's death by Anakin in the Temple), or contradict elements of the later completed film (I.E. Shaak Ti's death by Grievous). Several scenes here are extended Animatics with radically different takes on sequences as seen in the final film, such as the extended Grievous Chase Scene, Alternate Order 66 Sequences, and Alternate Early Anakin vs Obi-Wan and Yoda vs Palpatine Duels. Though the supercut doesn't use these, I was inspired to create this compilation by the success of the other video discussing the deleted scenes that were used in the extended cut.
The 4.5 Hour Supercut has been created by mixing Revenge of the Sith with the final 4 episodes of Clone Wars Season 7 (The Siege of Mandalore) in their entirety, 10 minutes of restored deleted scenes, and the entire Battle of Coruscant from the 2005 Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars Microseries, upscaled into 4K HDR to match the rest of the material. This makes it one of the longest possible edits of Revenge of the Sith you can find. At least one version of my edit has been out since May, but I have updated it again to refine some small details, including this improved opening crawl and reconstructed audio you see here.
The chosen deleted scenes were picked based on scenes that were kept and retained in the wonderful Matthew Stover Revenge of the Sith novelization, fully restoring Padme Amidala's attempts to counter Palpatine's political strength, her early alliances with rebellion founders Bail Organa and Mon Mothma, and more. With these scenes restored, the viewer has a much greater understanding of not how the Sith took control of the Republic from the Jedi with military might, but how he also under-minded them politically before a single shot of Order 66 was even fired.

Yeah, the utapau train scene is something else!
I usually wish these movies had deleted scenes included…..but I am perfectly happy that they did not bother to include that extended Utapau scene. tbh it doesn’t feel real lol, looks some something a fan with too much time on their hands would make and try to pass off as “A Deleted Scene!!” Seems too outlandish even for Star Wars.
@tiestofalljays well I mean maybe it feels outlandish because it never got in the film, I mean every movie has its small differences. Just cus it doesn't feel "star warsy" doesn't mean it's not star wars

So much Clone wars series energy is there in these deleted scenes between Anakin and Obi wan
For real, it doesn’t fit at all in the movie but makes so much sense in the context of the cw

@@Anti-HyperLink way too lighthearted and childish, especially the droid noises and banter

3:50 you know what I like about this.. When anakin was mockin the droid saying rodger.. A lot of these cuts made anakin seem more human.. Rather than super serious.. Which I love
Yeah made him feel more like the clone wars tv show version of him
@@neptune-op4dj I was thinking the same thing
They really should've made more movies about Anakin's turn to the dark side. It makes no sense that he just all of a sudden turns against all his friends and family just because Palpetine told him to lmao. It would've made more sense for his turn to be was more progressive and not just he turns bad just because he wants to save padme.
@@21darkster the clone wars definitely expanded but the movies definitely seemed way to abrupt on its own but it did have the ideas to make it good maybe a live action clone wars movie could work

The first scene after Shaak Ti gets slaughtered. When Obi-Wan, and anakin use hand signals for a solid 15 seconds right in front of grievous was very funny 😂
“This is not a good time to argue master”
These deleted scenes are a lot more comedic than the movies lol 😆
Obi wan was right about one thing: a healthy beard is about product & confidence
Is it just me or was she smiling when it happened
“That was a bad-“

anakin speaking droid is the funniest shit ever
Out of place in the film, but otherwise hilarious.
@@MechaSalesman They use it as a placeholder until they get the actors to say their lines. I believe. They were just like: let’s use a droid sound since that is the most obvious error, so we can’t miss it. That way they can change it in post-production.

Shaak Ti dies horribly
Obi Wan and Anakin: *silly gestures mode enabled*
Both: Welp, Shaak Ti gone; carry on.
the delete scenes are surprisingly accurate to the novelization
Even the anakin vs obi wan deleted scene?
Also, the reason it's accurate to those scenes is cuz the Novel is based off of the original script, and not the actual final film.
The novelization would have been based off an early cut, as is often the case.
thats because the novels for all 6 movies are all based on earlier versions of the script.
@@jamesm3235 >all 6 movies
here, you dropped this 👑
You mean the novelizations are accurate to the scenes lol
I'd pay good money to see VFX artist recreate these Pre-Viz animatics, and/or complete the effects in deleted scenes
A lot of people would, though many of the animatics are just alternate or early takes of stuff we've already seen. Very interesting to see how it flowed, however. There are still yet more scenes in the script we have either little or no footage of at all as well.
Maybe the Corrider crew
While I'm not a VFX artist, I will be working on including these scenes in my future videos as extensions to other scenes (like Yoda vs. Palpatine). While I have done it in the past, I was using a screen recorder back then, so these will be remastered.
@@MechaSalesman Can you download the full script somewhere?

Ngl I don't even care if it's filler for half of the added time I wish we got the full thing
Wow, these animatics were brutal. Grievous going through the train, Plo Koon ejecting only to be shot out anyway, Barriss getting stepped on by the AT-TE, etc.
Yeah, the original versions definitely would've needed that PG-13 rating. Maybe even higher.
@@MechaSalesman Just as well that they neutered it. Don't want to risk getting it to R. In fact, some critics felt like Revenge of the Sith should have gotten a PG.
@@sambridgers9543 Yeah besides Order 66, RoTS isn't much more violent than the other movies

I am a bit more tolerant of graphic violence than the average viewer might be, so a higher rating never bothered me.
Oh I love the fact that anakin makes beeping noises, and the two of them said roger roger together XD
Hilarious, but it's not hard to see why they were cut. The elevator sequences in the film just flow better as they are now.
@@MechaSalesman definitely
I don’t think they were in character when they started laughing though 😂.
I love how you could see Anakin’s anger fuming in his face when he sees General GrIevous kill Shaak Ti I wish they kept this scene. It just shows how quick Anakin can switch to Vader persona in a matter of seconds
Same. I kinda wish it was in a different setting though. Being in the middle of the hallway is a bit weird.
The dialogue was terrible though, with they could have replaced that
@@hazmatt3250I think that's a majority of the reasoning for it being cut. It's just clunky the whole way through, and though people often say they wish we saw the extended ROTS opening, I think it would have been awfully paced.
Na it’s definitely not right with grevious saying ‘ah general Kenobi’ after a minute of him already being in the room lol
her death was a real shock Ti for him
the levitating lizard creature, obi wan plowing through his troops, the only dialogue being “Jedi scum” with the intense music in the background…the fact that darth maul is some how grievous. Obi wan ripping out his organs and shooting them with a pistol. This is art
Imagine, with these scenes, your 4.5 hour cut would have been a whopping 5 hour cut.
Though as much as I enjoy the extended space cruiser rescue, I'm glad they didn't include the Anakin beeping silliness.
Yes, it came down to partially a matter of what scenes were usable, what fit mostly within canon, and what was ultimately the most tasteful. I think the droid talk bit is hilarious, but it doesn't fit the rest of the film at all.
@@MechaSalesman I wish they kept Anakin and Obi-Wan saying "Roger Rogerrr" after slicing up the droids though
I think them rubbing their face to communicate was much worse, and it seemed to be serious where as the droid noises were comedic
Yeah how tf he do that anyway?
@Cameron I completely disagree. The face communication thing is more believable and gives you a sense of friendship and understanding between Obi-Wan and Anakin, whereas the beeping is... How do vocal cords even make those noises? Regardless, the final film is nearly perfect as it is imo. (The only thing I would add is Anakin killing more Jedi and maybe Grievous killing Shaak Ti)
Jesus felt like the obi wan and grevious fight was never ending 😂
"Anakin, you still have much to learn"
"Alright, I still have much to learn"
Obi Wan is man enough and humble enough to admit he is wrong. He is not as prideful and arrogant as most other people on the Jedi Council.
That entire sequence should have been kept. It shows how much they have grow together during the clone wars and how much they love and trust each other.
And it makes the scene where they fight all the more tragic
.
6:43-7:36 I think this scene is better than the one we got in the film, because it establishes the Jedi's plans to deal with Sidious earlier in the film, as opposed to just before Sidious reveals himself. It also establishes just how desperate the Jedi are to win the war and gain control of the Republic earlier on, as well.
This part was in the book and the whole plot of making palpatine step down was a very key point in the book
That moustache communication though
I love this sequence, but Shaak Ti's canon death is known and this one wasn't it, plus too many of the FX are still incomplete to really use.
“Far too many for that” anakin sounds British there
@Frogger 🤦🏻♀️
@@MechaSalesman so Shaak Ti did die in order 66?
@Frogger you are saying this cause why?
Damnnn this makes me realise that this film was never finished. It would have better better as 2 parts instead of squeezing so much into one film. I feel like we need the finished version
Absolutely
Too much happened for only one movie
Honestly, it feels like a lot even when split between movie, novel, The Clone wars, Bad Batch, old Legacy comics, and Labyrinth Of Evil.
I mean, granted, most of that doesn't focus much on Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padmè and Palpatine. But the themes are still fleshed out.
Yes we need part 2 of this.
Did it though? I thought it worked really well as is. A lot of these scenes, while cool to see, are almost entirely unnecessary and definitely would have ruined the flow of the movie.
This explains why there is so much content in the novelization for the film.
9:22 WHAT?! Darth Maul was General Grievous all along?! WOAH
Yeah but they decided to make general grievous an completely different and separate character from maul
they should've kept that in to give this trilogy an overarching villain who's more hands-on than Sidious, instead of making each of the three movies have a one-off bad guy muscle who either doesn't get a proper setup or a proper payoff
The scene with grievous driving through the train probably would’ve been terrifying, especially for a kid. Honestly, I would’ve loved to see it fully fledged out.
0:17 The way Grievous drags his hand up Shaak Ti’s head is actually menacing af
I would too
Thats crazy
He gave her that robo pipe before that scene for sure

Is no one going to talk about the fact that Lego Star Wars base their game off of this? At least for the first mission of episode three it follows this almost exactly. Down to the camera angles and the set designs
I thought I was the only one who noticed
Because they had stroke early script
because the original lego star wars came out before revenge of the sith. so they had to base the levels off the earlier drafts and what not
Thats how I found this
And when Obi-Wan And Yoda go back to the temple
We need George to release ROTS extended edition 😅
Eh, I'm pretty happy with the 4.5 hour supercut as it is. But I wanted a way to show people the footage that exists that wasn't used in my own edit, since the other clip with deleted scenes that I DID use was so popular.
Oh for sure. I'm not taking anything away from your masterpieces. That's the closest we'll ever get to his lol. I just mean I wish George would go back through all the archive footage he has and redo the effects for extra scenes. Cause apparently theres so much extra stuff that was shot that never came out as deleted scenes :(

@@subeedeibaatar7113 no way. Dude. Sidious may have got his lightsaber knocked out of his hands but Sidious was way more powerful. Funniest shit ever
Yea but it was also lame. Those guys just completely knocked out from a hit to the wall that wasnt even loud? I feel like the animatic fight was a great concept
I love how it gets more and more unfinished the more the scene goes on 😂
As if the political commentary of Palpatine literally using Democracy itself as a weapon in his fight against Yoda, and Democracy itself being destroyed as the two fight, we could have had an extra bit of subtext with Palpatine zooming the camera in on Yoda's face to make sure to show Yoda as the attacker - how footage can be spun to portray a wanted narrative. Damn.
In the Matthew Stover novel, Palpatine is actively recording the Office attack and cuts it off right as he reveals his true self to leave the evidence altered against the Jedi.

That Griveous vs Obi One scene is superb!
I love those deleted scenes between Obi-Wan and Anakin (in the Invisible Hand, before they find Palpatine) so much because seeing their mid-fight banter in the movies (and them acting more like TCW versions of them) is so much better I think than the seriousness in the actual cut. It solidifies their friendship a lot more too which only makes the ending of this movie a lot more emotional than it already is.

Oh man. Yoda using the imperial guards as a meat shield against Palpatine’s force lighting was dope asf. They really shouldn’t of deleted some of these scenes
I Have waited a long time for this moment
I figured it was worth collecting the footage that was available. There is also more content from the early script that made it into the novel and a few concepts in the PS2 game, but this (almost) is everything public that was filmed so far.
What I find most interesting about this is that with this the Lego game makes a lot more sense. Revenge of the Sith hadn’t been released by the time the first Lego Star Wars game was in production so they probably went of the previs and deleted scenes, the ones in this video probably. First of all Grievous’ ship turning on its side and the characters having to walk on the walls is in the lego game but not in the final film. There’s also a deleted level in the game files in which Obi-Wan chases Grievous up and around the cliff wall which might represent the extended chase in this video. The clone troopers disguised as Jedis were also in the game and the setting at the beginning of the Anakin vs Obi-Wan fight where they see each other is also very similar to the Lego cutscene. The way Obi-Wan defeats Anakin is also much more similar to the pre-visualisation in this video than the Final Cut of the film. I think that’s pretty cool
That yoda vs palpatine fight is way better than what they put in the movie
That Utapau fight was BRUTAL, and those graphics are about on par with the ps2 game that came out.

i think the one thing i can say about being a newer star wars fan that must hit diff than older star wars fans was plo koons death. I didn't know about plo koon while watching the movies. so his death was sad but just as sad as all the other random jedi, just to show the severity of order 66. But after watching clone wars and then revenge of the sith a second time, I completely forgot that plo koon died as I didn't recognize him the first time. safe to say his death the second time round fucked me.
