Their love was so intense because they were only free and themselves with each other. Their whole lives were so dedicated to people they didn’t know how to live for themselves. Anakin was also put on the highest pedestal and pressure so no wonder he was constantly breaking down. He only felt safe to break down with Padme and she fell for him because she was able to be herself for once and open up. The pressures they put on themselves with the emotional stakes made them blow up. Anakin wanted to leave at the beginning of episode 3 with her and she said they need to keep their careers as a duty driven person. By the time anakin went to deep and she realized the careers were pointless and didn’t matter anymore he was gone 😢
Sad
Tragic and sad
We need Hayden back to play anakin somehow again
It also seemed to me that Anakin didn't care if people found out they were married at the beginning of Episode 3. Padme though had a vested interest in keeping it a secret. Her political career would be threatened if people knew she was married to a former slave and a Jedi. They would think she wasn't objective and was just siding with the Jedi because her husband was one.
I think the Jedi should have allowed love. They were so afraid of it causing jealously and anger, and yes it can, but it its also the most positive and beneficial emotion that people are capable of. In protecting those they love, people may do great evil, but they will also do great good.
Also, honestly most people feel more love for their spouse, children, family or friends than they ever will for any government or religious organization. I can understand that the Jedi expected their members to give up their personal attachments for 'the greater good', but the trouble is that they forced them to do that.
Also, 'the greater good' is such a vague idea, which often involves slavish adherence to political organizations that are corrupt and don't represent the people they're meant to serve. Which was basically the case for the Republic.
In the end Luke established a new Jedi order that did allow its members to fall in love an marry, and it was probably the better for it.

Yes someone should make a series where Padme lived and Anakin didn't turn and they raised Luke and Lei.
Edit: OMG thank you guys so much for liking such a simple comment :D
@@emercyn9149 The problem is that I don't think the Jedi would have allowed them to just keep the children. They would have taken either Luke or Leia or both as infants because they were force sensitive. Even if Anakin was still in the Jedi at that time its possible he would not have been allowed to have anything to do with his children because of the no attachments thing.
@@englishlady9797 Yes i was thinking about that as i was typing it out.. its just so sad and torn because if they lived together Anakin would have to give up his destiny as The Chosen One. And like you said the Jedi Council would probably take Luke and Lei sence they would be force sensitive

Define irony. He wanted to keep her from dying, yet the thing that ultimately killed her was himself
That is what makes it much more tragic
Yes, the dialogue in the movies was a tad bit cheesy, but remember, the clone wars series had years to develop Anakin and hundreds of episodes, the movies only had a couple hours per film and only could show big events.
I really like how Clone Wars show that Anakin and Padme are a bit toxic (I demand you, as your husband, Anakin being so jealous) and that both were deeply in love, but also tired of not being able to be together in the open. Makes RotS much better, and I love RotS as it is. I think having a tv show between movies helps a lot to the franchise.
Now I just want a show that shows us Anakin and Obi-Wan between episode 1 and 2.
@@ThePunisherSpider I'm gonna be that person who defends their ship-
I don't think Anakin (in that part, cause yes it was toxic near the end of Padme's life) was exactly toxic, because he still wanted what was best for her, but he was overprotective and very controlling because his fear was overwhelming him and causing him to overreact and doubt Padme's ability to protect herself. It also caused jealousy, because another way he could lose Padme was if she stopped loving him and chose to be with someone else. He held on too tight and let his fear control him.
P.s I totally agree I would love a show that has scenes of young Anakin's training as a Padawan up until the Clone Wars, I feel like we missed a huge time period(what, 10 years total?) and the gap needs to be filled!
@@ThePunisherSpider Anakin didn't have anyone to teach him how relationships work, or to even show him, he had to figure it out all by himself, while being told that relationships are bad by the jedi order
Such a tragedy
Big events like “I don’t like sand” 😂 I love them though
In the movies Anakin seems whiny like Padme's death is the only reason he tries to join the dark side, but with the clone wars we seem him as a general losing faith slowly in the order which has betrayed his trust numerous times, especially with the departure of Ahsoka and their failure to own up to it. Also, it's extremely unfair to trash on Hayden for the cringey dialogue because either Anakin was MEANT to be like this at the time.
yoda was right, fear is the path to the dark side. fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. wise words there
those are all human and valid emotions tho. the jedi order went too far, they feared the dark side so much that they were the reason it became so powerful in the end. anakin needed help, the jedi only cared about their rules.
The prequels really make you question Yoda’s people skills though. What kind of wise master tells a child that missing his mother will lead him to the dark side? Or brushes aside the concerns of a young man who he knows has had deep emotional issues in the past? Maybe if Yoda had spent more time trying to understand where Anakin was coming from rather than simply repeating the same canned lines over and over, he wouldn’t have turned. Who knows...
I dont understand why yoda didnt help him, with his problems. If yoda helped anakin then anakin would still be on the good side. Replay what you think?
Yep wise words.

Anakin was just a boy when he met the love of his life. She gave brith to twins who grew up to became heroes.
Her baby boy and girl first met on the Death Star. Luke was the older twin and Princess Leia was younger one.
Padme lost Anakin to the Dark Side of the force after she died with broken heart.
But it was their son that saved him
You know if you play the castlsvania Lord of shadow games then you know the characters are similar Gabriel Belmont/Anakin Skywalker,Dracula/Darth Vader,Marie/Padme,Trevor Belmont/Luke Skywalker, Zobeck/Palpatine and Satan/Darth Sidious.
Actually she didn’t die from a broken heart it was actually Palpatine draining her life force to sustain Anakin long enough before the whole machinery was able to do that job. Then he said that to him because in a way it was true and Palpatine smiles at Anakin‘s Devastation
I heard Filoni and Lucas have suggested it was in forbidding love that was where the Jedi really went wrong . Love was not inherently evil or of the dark side. Its actually one of the most positive and beneficial emotions humans are capable of.
Yes, Anakin's story shows the terrible things people will do to protect the ones they love, but love also causes people perform great acts of good and heroism.
People are more willing to fight for the the ones they love than for a government or political entity, like the Jedi wanted. Especially when that government or political entity becomes corrupt, or the organization that forbids you from loving and yet still demands your total devotion has become hypocritical and lost its way. Both are ultimately a poor replacement for the natural bond of love between a husband and a wife, or parents and children.
Nor was Anakin the first person in the SW universe to have been redeemed by love. I think the Jedi failed to understand that there were more powers in the universe than the Force, or themselves and the Sith. Love was powerful too.
That actually works
I thought that what they forbid was not love, but attachment. Feeling attached to someone usually causes fear of losing them, and therefore pain, and those are the feelings they wanted to avoid. I assumed they were fine with a jedi loving people as long as they understood that loss and death are natural and unvoidable and they kept their shit together in bad times.
In any case, YES, old school jedi were wrong with this and a ton of other stuff, ahhahaha
I think they have the same problem that many modern people do. They use one term, love, to represent several different types of emotional attachment. The Ancient Greeks had eight words for love. One for lustful love, one for brotherly love, and so on and so forth. In AOTC Anikin tells Padmé that the Jedi are encouraged to love, but it I think they would have benefited from knowing what type of love was encouraged and what type of love was discouraged. Or simply letting the Jedi love in all forms and helping individuals through the fear that comes with the thought of losing someone and/ or the pain that comes when a loved one dies.
One of the main reasons Luke straightened that shit out in the New Jedi Order
The Jedi taught compassion which Anakin described as unconditional love which I don't think that it's that exactly, he was trying to get around the code. But you can see that many Jedi had become too detached from feelings, they taught and were taught that death is a natural part of life which is true but the question is, when do you stop fighting for life? Luminara Unduli was eager to abandon her apprentice whereas Anakin didn't stop searching for Ahsoka. Anakin being a slave was supposed to again abide to rules and not express his true feelings which led his burst at the end. Jedi feared so much the cost of someone losing a person that he loves, so they chose to prevent it, thus giving in to fear. Although they were supposed to face it.
That's where Luke succeeded, "No matter what happens between us, you're my father and I love you, and I know you love me too", and throws his lightsaber on Palpatine's face, "I don't care what you say, this is my father and you won't tear us apart"

I feel so bad, he joined the dark side to save padme and even in his anger he still loved her. He deserved more than what he got most definitely. I think annikens story is one of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard of. His life went like: Slave, Jedi youngling, Jedi, finding the love of his life and needing to keep it a secret, knowing she was going to die at childbirth and trying to save her by giving himself up to a sith lord, he accidentally made her die because he thought she had turned on her, he got burned and his limbs sliced off, when he recovered his first words were, “How’s Padme?” And “Is she alive?” When he faced the dreading truth he hated himself for the rest of his life and he lost two people that he tried to save but failed each time. He needed to make a decision right which he made wrong. He trusted Palpatine and killed the wrong person because he thought he really could save padme. That is the absolute worst outcome of any events and I still feel really bad if it is fictional or not

WHY DID THEY HAVE TO KILL PADMÉ AND MAKE ANAKIN TURN TO THE DARK SIDE?!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought it was weird for a 9 year old to have a crush on a girl. It's just an innocent admiration for someone but grew into love as he got older.
Yeah and they didn't even get together until he was like already an adult 🤷🏻♀️
This. You’d think no one in the history of the world had ever known each other as kids and grew to fall in love when they were full grown, consenting adults. People gotta moan and complain I guess, especially the Star Wars community 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
True! Plus the age gap is 5 years… I know a lot of happy couples with that age gap. My grandma was 5 years older than my grandpa and guess what? They had a son & daughter and lived out their days happily so… I never saw it as weird
Gotta say, that *was* really the worst timed entrance in history from Obi Wan. I mean seriously. Padme was on the verge of persuading Anakin to leave with her, but then she started talking about Obi Wan and he got riled, but could have been calmed down, only for Obi Wan to emerge from her shuttle. Padme and she looks towards Obi Wan, shouts "NO! and looks back at Anakin.
I mean it in that moment it did look like they were together. I'm not saying that justifies his choking her, but just the timing and her reaction, coupled with he fact that he was under the influence of the Dark Side. I mean it was inevitable that he would get the wrong idea about their relationship.
There was actually a storyline in an early draft of ROTS (that was abandoned) in which it was suggested that Obi Wan and Padme were having an affair. They weren't but it was something Palpatine implied, and his going to their apartment when Anakin was away did look suspicious. Then on Mustafar it would have seemed like they conspired to kill Anakin so they could be together.
The idea of his best friend betraying him in the worst possible way with his wife would have been enough to tip Anakin over the edge.
This scene kind of makes more sense in light of that.
It's also really obvious in the novel how Palpatine and the Dark Side twist things. At first, when Palpatine suggest Obi Wan doing suspicious things with a Senator, Anakin thinks of anyone *but* Padmé. Then the seed is planted and when he does sense he was there, he also rationalizes that she sees multiple people a day and there could be a political (albeit perhaps treason?) for his visit. (This is the scene we end up seeing that evolves into him admitting feeling lost). The Padmé Ruminations scene on the novel explicitly has him thinking he doesn't care of any supposed treachery or deceit from her or the Jedi. He just wants to save her and his love for her weights more than any loyalty to the Order. It makes the part of him choking her SO SAD. It really drives the point of how twisted the Dark Side had corrupted him, we had never even seen him consider hurting her. And like you said, even then, she could've turned him back. She really could have.
They should have left it in that was always the weirdest part of that scene to me
The novelisation really does do a much better job of showing the reader Anakin’s real motives. It’s still shackled by the totally unrealistic 180 from “save Padme” to “rule the galaxy”, but that really can’t be helped. Lucas dug that hole by making the sequels first, so Anakin never had a chance to be his own person, his fate was preordained.
This really is Shakespeare's Othello set in the Star Wars universe
He’s like posing behind her like he’s a super hero come to save the day or a disapproving dad. It’s so odd.
I felt really bad for Anakin and Padme. Their love was really sweet but then it came to a very tragic end.
me: sees Vader force choke her
also me: cries
Anakin was the chosen to bring balance to the force, and in the very end he did, by protecting Luke from Darth Sidious. Padme was right, there was good in him still.
A lot of people claim that part with Clovis is proof that Anakin didn't love Padme and just viewed her as a possession, but I don't see it as that. Yeah, his reaction was extreme and he lost control, but honestly, the guy kissed her when she was saying "NO!" quite clearly and audibly. That's a forced kiss at best, sexual harassment at worst.
If he hadn't walked in then, how far would Clovis have gone? Might he have sexually assaulted her?
No wonder Anakin was pissed, and even in the other scenes I don't think he's trying to be controlling, he just wants to protect her. Its in his nature to want to help and protect people, even being overprotective.
I agree and I think it wasn’t entirely well written
I agree with you we have no idea how far Clovis would've gone so it definitely makes sense and arguably justifiable for Anakin to react like that. Plus Anakin has a hard time controlling his anger so seeing someone he loves being in that position will tip him towards the edge. In addition many couples would react aggressively if they saw someone doing that to one another.
Well those people probably don’t have wives or husbands. I would’ve done the same thing as Anakin lol.
TCW is like fanfiction (well I think Filoni wrote most of it so I guess it's fanfic), they made the trio so Out of Character! compare the 3D one with the 2D one, even a short microseries gets the characters better than a 7 season one.

I like the fact that Clone Wars show that they have issues like other couples, and how jealous can Anakin get. My heart 💔😭 It's the most tragically beautiful love affair. Ever since I was a kidcand still today Padme and Anakin love story will remain my favorite.
I just love the detail and story/character building that the clone wars provides. So much foreshadowing to Anakin falling to the darkside. The episodes with Clovis are just so interesting for Padme and Anakin.
This is so beautiful and so so sad. I’ve never seen the cartoons. This video has given me an more in-depth understanding of their relationship.
Watch it! You may think its for kids, but its 13+
@@myemye4357 how can I look them up?
@@Afroricanz84 Disney+, its called Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Released on 2008! I recommend watching it. Its between attack of the clones (epidode 2) and revenge of the sith (episode 3)
@@myemye4357 oh my goodness thank you so so much!
It is actually really interesting how the Force worked. It showed Anakin that the love of his life, “an angel”, will die. So to protect her he goes to the pitts of hell, he becomes something he swore to destroy. And what it lead to? In his rage, he kills her. Not directly - but by killing their love for each other
It also makes me think
Jedi didn’t allow “love” and marriage - they saw that those emotions can lead to Dark Side
Sith, as Dark Sidious, indeed used those emotions for their own purposes
And what happened? Both Jedi and Sith were destroyed because of it. Jedi because Anakin loved Padme so much, and Sith because he understood his love for his child (kids). So there was balance in the force. No more fighting between its two sides. Love brought peace
Beautifully said
Yes and in the end he was the chosen one and without that love he wouldn’t have had Luke to bring him back to bring balance to the force in the end
15:00 when we relilized all his power to keep Padame safe lead to her downfall
And his.
Padme : “wait not here”
Anakin : “yes here”
Me : *LAMO WHUT* 😂😂😂
when it’s out of context it sounds even worse
6:31 anyone felt nervous when the lightsaber is pointing towards her??
Yeah, Anakin could press the button by Force, but fortunately he didn't do that
@@Ad-fu6tj bruh why would he
It's fine, she has plot armor until Episode III's ending.
Padme: im pregnant
Anakin: *best father 2017 meme*
IM GONNA BE A FATHER?!?!
I love the scenes when Padme tells Anikin she’s pregnant along when they are both across from each other by the city contemplating on what they will do by the end of the war.
Great to see all those scenes in one place. Anakin made bad choices, but he wasn't bad. He loved Padme, and she loved him.
Anakin and Padme are the Romeo and Juliet of the Star Wars franchise. I would like to think they met in the netherworld of the force again. I hope they both Rest In Peace together.😢❤
Man I swear, Dave Filoni really knows how to make Star Wars. The best moments between them were from the clone wars!
Except I dunno how to feel about their marriage struggles over Clovis
Dave filoni and jon favreau is carrying all of Disney but Dave filoni cares about ahsoka to much
Hayden & Natalie are a seriously underrated duo. Anakin looked 10/10, Padme was already 9+ in TPM
imagine if they both just ran away and raised the twins 😪😪😪
Did anyone see that padme held her stomach at 10:44 so maybe this is how it leads to the revenge of the sith
Duh
Mya Villarreal yeah stupid
Did anyone know on the serie, palpatine oder the oder 66 maybe it leads to revenge of the shit?

Across the stars is a beautiful masterpiece, that completely captures the true love Anakin and Padme had for each other. I don't blame Hayden for his lines, they were given to him and I think he executed them to the best he could. They definitely improved by Rots.
6:31
Padme: "wow, its heavier than I thought"
*activates the lightsaber*
*DIRECTED BY GEORGE LUCAS*
1:09 Padme has the most cutest smile I’ve ever seen 😍😊😘
The first three episodes gave me a lot of emotions I’m overwhelmed
I can't look at Darth Vader without seeing a man truly dead inside.
He isn't dead, but he is broken.
I cry all the time when padme says she can’t do what ani does and then when she is dying and when ani yells I am In full blown tears I wish she were still alive so she would have a chance to raise luke and leia.
To be fair, anakin tried many times to try and leave with padme. Maybe if they did it all would've worked out.
Probably the greatest love story ever written. These two just have such good chemistry
anakin: i committed genocide
padme: 😍😍😍
@@joshuanbixbee2948 not just the women, but the children TOO!
Padme: hell yeah
Star Wars needs a what if…? show because we could’ve seen what happened if anakin never joined the dark side and had been with her to be a good father
The archives are not incomplete. Looking for "HISHE Star wars episode 3" you are.
Actually padme and anikin
had more moments in clone wars than their starwars triology
*Anakin
I mean, there was hours and hours of matierial in TCW
Just give me a rated R Dark Vader movie and he gets flashbacks of he’s wife
Idgaf that the earlier episodes weren't as iconic as the later ones. This dynamic stuck with me, it was one of the most intensely emotional, romantic yet tragic love stories I found myself invested in.
❤️Thanks for your unending love and support you have constantly shown me in such difficult moment. I’m forever grateful. I really appreciate your unconditional love to me and every effort exerted by you to cause a change…Where are you watching from?
this is one of the mistake that the jedi made. they teach you to have a feelings but not to in praise your feelings or nor to love.
When Anakin said "We don't have to run away anymore..." I knew it was over
12:27
Padme: ''What's botherin' you?''
Anakin: ''I don't like Sand.''
Anakin called Padme an angel when he first met her. She was secretly Queen of planet Naboo a planet a lot like Earth.
disney needs to create a “what if” series for star wars . It’s hard personally for me to accept the reality
You mean like "Star Wars Infinities"?
When you get flashed in battlefront “so love has blinded you” I didn’t even say it!
The scenes of 2003 should have been in Clone Wars 2008, it would have been cute, but still they are just as cute in 2008.
4:03 that chin on animated ani, what a chad
It hard to imagine that the young boy at the start turn out to be one of the strongest sith lords Palpatine ever had
He changed after Qui-Gon died.
I wish Hayden had done Anakin’s voice in the show. The characters are so different. It’s hard to reconcile them.
He actually wanted to but they didn't want him to.
