The funny thing is Star Wars galaxies didn’t die out because of the Jedi grind…it died because the Sony online entertainment suits tried to play the game and didn’t immediately understand the rich game their devs had built and they reworked and oversimplified a ton of stuff killing the game in a few months.
It makes sense to me that the Jedi requires such a sacrifice.

the reason blizz made daily content was to artificially drag out content and make people be subscribed for longer
they couldn't make content that was good enough to play for the enjoyment of the game, so they time gate content that they knew people would want to grind for
fuck daily quests, and fuck time gated content
