Learn how and when to use different clauses in English. A "clause" is a group of words that have a subject and a verb. More videos to come! :)
@@ArnelsEverydayEnglish thank you so much ma'am
You rule! Not to lessen faith in ESL teachers abroad but needed to use this to bone up on a lesson for Grade 6.
By the way what path did you take to have this sort of ability to know and teach grammar? MA, Celta/Delta? Books?
Arnel, would you mind recommending some materials that will help me enhance my English writing skills (such as grammar books, dictionaries, etc.)?
Could you please prepare a detail video on preposition
👍👍👍
Arnel I have a question...in this sentence: "you want this cup holder mounted on the left ..." why do we write mounted? I can't get the structure.. can we say be mounted or to mount? Why?...thanks🌹
I noticed that some examples in Adverb clause describe two actions in the past without using Past Perfect for the earlier action. Could you please make it clear?
That's a good observation. The past perfect isn't always necessary when the sequence of events is already clear. This can be if there are multiple past actions.
For example:
-I woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast, and left for work.
Here the sequence is already clear. The sequence is in order.
Words like "before" and "after" also make the sequence clear. The past perfect isn't always necessary, especially in a short sentence:
-We bought groceries before the store closed.
"had bought" isn't necessary.
I hope this clarifies things!
@@ArnelsEverydayEnglish I came across this comment by chance and was able to find the answer I had been searching for ages. In a student’s book this is not clarified properly. Thank you so much, Arnel
You must come to India sometime mam 🇮🇳
❤❤❤❤
❤
HI Arnel I'm bit confused by Adverb & Noun Clauses. What's the difference? How can I distinguish it?
A noun clause can be replaced by a noun:
I don't know why my cat never meows.
I don't know the reason.
You can see "the reason (noun)" replaces the noun clause "why my cat never meows".
An adverb clause explains when, where, why, how.
I waited until the rain stopped.
My adverb clause "until the rain stopped" tells us when. It cannot be replaced by a noun.
I hope this helps!
@@ArnelsEverydayEnglish Now I see the different. I need to do more practice! Thanks again Arnel!😁
I'm from India 🇮🇳
Can you help me:
New year’s Eve is a time when a family mebers get together.
Which clause did we use in the sentence above.
It is adjective clause.
When modifies the new year.
I love you
😊😊❤❤❤
It's great to study in one piece of paper like a video but please mam make a video on causitive verb I watched your video but it still didn't understand so make a video with it.
Arnel you are so beautiful! l am burning to learn Engish from you.
Thanks a lot for this effective video.
Can you please change this sentence to interrogative.
Who that met me did not help me.
Respected ma'am ! I am new viwever . Kindly can you tell me from which country you are ? America or England .
Respected Ma'am, being undisputedly the greatest grammarian of all time across the globe, you are earnestly entreated with folded hands to let me know which clauses the following sentences are -(A)It was yesterday when I met John (D)It was yesterday that I met John (C)It was last Saturday that I met John (D)It was last Saturday when I met John (E)It was August that he went to Paris(F)It was August when he went to Paris.Ma,am, do please enlighten me a bit by letting me know if the above sentences are Noun Clause, Adjective clause or Adverbial Clause. This is the kind of grammatical issue that has baffled so many grammarians and teachers so far because different teachers have answered differently, which has flummoxed me a lot.
I think they are adjective clauses because when modifies time.
Hi :) Is this course made of past videos?
Yes! I've put together my three videos on this topic. But, I've added a new test to summarize everything at 56:37
It would be great if you had provided pdf with the lesson
I have a doubt... Sometimes a noun clause can be the subject, right? but most of the time the verbs and what it is in the noun clause are part of the predicate, so that makes me really confused.
My dear teacher I want to improve my writing n speaking skill but I couldn't success when I try to my best but I couldn't success when I try to write n speak the words cannot come in my brain I confused shy n dishort I don't know what is the reason help me n guide me please
When will you start complete english spoken classes from day 1 to end
I'm not sure, but it's something I definitely have to do! :)
