I’m an only child so I have no fucking idea what I’m talking about but Dax’s explanation of “Little Brother Syndrome” seems to make way more sense than the recorded definition.
If you’re a little kid and your brother is 5 years older than you, you’re seeing him do a lot of things right that you’re still doing wrong, and he’s also been given the big brother responsibilities of looking out for you and teaching you shit, but he’s also still a kid so he’s probably going to abuse that “authority” and tell you you’re wrong a lot even when you DO get things right.
Like how would that NOT build an inferiority complex? Any younger or older brothers have input on this?

I’m a female and I have the little brother syndrome b/c I looked up to my brother and wanted to do everything he did and do things that he would approve of and possibly think I was cool b/c of said things.I tried to be friends with all his friends and when he got older he actually let me hang out with him and his friends and I become part of his friend group which consisted of guys and gals.I learned a lot of awesome shit from my brother and I am a better person b/c of him.I still like Womenly things as well but both hemispheres of my brain are balanced so I’m a perfect balance of Feminine and Masculine energy..;-)
I’m an only child but I’ve always like observed the dynamic between siblings and it makes sense.. it sounds like your bro didn’t abuse that position too much and was actually considerate of you looking up to him. I would sometimes be sad for never having had a brother or sister because I felt like I would have been the kind of big brother you have, being kind and patient and looking out for that kid. I had friends that were like that for me.

Two older brothers here. I was way cooler than both of them. They knew it and didn’t really like me very much. I’m still cooler than they are….except for one of them. He assumed room temperature a couple of years back.
