1983 SPECIAL REPORT: "WAYNE WILLIAMS SPEAKS OUT ON THE ATLANTA CHILD MURDERS"
Vložit
- čas přidán 7. 06. 2021
- Wayne Williams, an Atlanta native who was 23 years old at the time of the last murder, was arrested, tried, and convicted of two of the adult murders and sentenced to two consecutive life terms. Police subsequently have attributed a number of the child murders to Williams, although he has not been charged in any of those cases, and Williams himself maintains his innocence, although the killings ceased after his arrest. In March 2019, the Atlanta police, under the order of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, reopened the cases in hopes that new technology will lead to a conviction for the murders that were never resolved
Typical narcissistic behaviour.

Wayne Williams really thought he was smarter than everyone. I was alive at the time and remember this well. Many people simply didn’t want to believe he was guilty. They were so determined it had to be a white man. But I remember everyone was forced to admit that once he was in custody, the murders stopped.
He still isn’t guilty lmao wtf stop playing cop, he was never convicted of any of the 30 child murders..
@@bloodmoneyhistory6845It’s true he wasn’t convicted of the child murders because he wasn’t tried for them. I don’t know why but it’s definitely suspicious. However the child killings stopped after he was arrested so there’s that.

Do you hear the guy name all these murder that happen after he was arrested, the police made him guilty if you believe he did it nothing will change your mind, but if you want the truth you would have to have question, what killer you know can give a press conference and listen to his attorney you got to say wait a minute something here is not adding up
That’s right when he got busted the killing’s stop he is a evil man I’m glad he’s in jail and I’m very surprised he’s still alive because Jeffrey Dahmer was murdered in the bathroom for killing kid’s and eating them and having sex with the dead body’s I forgot what it’s named people who kill and eat the dead and have sex with the dead it’s a sick person they should have been locked up in a Mental hospital not in jail cleaning bathrooms it’s a shame

This media interview just reinforces my opinion on this case. Here Wayne Williams comes off as a man who is relieved and almost elated for not having been convicted of any of the child murders. He seems comfortable being a prisoner and that never sat well with me. An innocent man would not behave like this in my opinion. Wayne Williams is all smiles in this early interview as well as in the interviews that came years later. He seems to be enjoying all of this a bit too much. Also one thing that no one has ever been able to explain is why did the murders stop after Wayne was locked up?
I believe the people of Jonestown were duped for a racial plot along with the use for study.
However, I also believe revenge by these victims is real.
Both, are real.

He is not confident . He is indignant . There was no serial killer . That narrative was used to hide the fact that Atlanta was a high crime area . I think Wayne killed Nathaniel Cater . But they tried to blame him for the deaths of children all of whom were killed with differing m/o's . The city was losing revenue due to the amount of child kilings the news was repoeting . So the city put pressure on the police to paint Wayne Williams with the serial killer brush to convince potential customers of its hotels and venues to come back to Atlanta . If they could insinuare that one person was behind all of that crime then when they encarcerated that person suddenly Atlanta is safe again . He was a scapegoat .

Wayne Williams killed all those children and adults. He changed up his method of killings to throw off police investigation. This is a cold-blooded monster to read off all the children names and how they died without any emotions like he's investigating his own crimes. He forever belongs in prison. May the victims rest in peace.
Exactly!!!!!! He hated poor black kids...ppl said he would say that...fiber evidence, testimonys, the bridge...he burned evidence in his backyard....he is a good liar and manipulator....i honestly believe that NATHANIEL CATER was helping him wit some killings, i believe they were lovers, bisexual....then something went wrong and wayne killed him....wayne was trained wit the CIA, he was strong and knew how to kill
N yes, he would try 2 throw off police....he liked playing games wit the cops....he used 2 imperonate a cop!!!!!! So he killed some of the kids differ ways and different locations, trying 2 throw off a pattern
I hope Wayne confesses before he dies. He is absolutely the killer. Perhaps he wasn't doing it alone but he was the head of this evil. The murders stopped after he was arrested, fiber evidence on a body they found in the river pointed right at him, cops heard a splash and then saw him on the bridge, and he had no reasonable explanation for being out there at 3 am. Hairs found on multiple victims ruled out more than 98% of the people in the world and guess who is in the less than 2% it could be.... Wayne Williams... One of the victims brothers identified Wayne as the man who was chasing him. Soo much circumstantial evidence surrounds Wayne and no one else. His sheer confidence in this situation is the first red flag.(considering his the main suspect)
They are also excellent imitators of human emotions too,WW fits the bill perfectly you can tell he thinks he is smarter than everyone.
The thing is he's never getting out of prison. He was convicted of killing those two men. Thankfully the police built a solid forensic case on those carpet fibers and what they had to use back then. So no appeal is going to be taken for this man. He's going to die in prison a convicted man.
U don't think so if the new technology take place
Ironic that he mentions Patrick Rogers. Issac Rogers (Patrick’s younger brother) identified Wayne Williams as the man on the stairs that followed him back to Miss Willie Mae’s apartment before she opened the door to save him.
Issac said he would never forget his face. That is something I can believe.
Wayne Williams is such a unique looking person that, once you see him, you don’t forget him.
I was 13 when they caught Wayne Williams and posted his face all over the media. To this day I still remember his face from seeing it on the news.
I think like John Wayne Gacy, Wayne Williams may have flashed a badge and presented himself as a cop to lure some of the children. He used his music talent search as another ploy to bring them to his house.
I don’t think he killed the children that had body parts removed as one of the Mom’s had stated.
I do think there was a pedophile ring involved. Similar to the Oakland County killer in Detroit.
Gacy was def part of a paedophile ring look into it I think that’s what was going on in ATL as well
Oakland county killer? when!? (and ummm Detroit is Wayne county)
Alright, first, what's so unique about Wayne's looks? He is a light skinned black man with a big afro. What's "unique" about that?? You would be hard pressed to find a black man in the 70s and early 1980s that didn't sport a 'fro!!
I believe Isaac Rogers when he said Wayne was after him. He also used his "talent scout" ruse to put him in direct contact with youngsters. I do not believe that Wayne is a killer, but he definitely knew what was going on and he played a part. Wayne was a child pornographer who took nude pictures of young boys and teenagers and he procured some of the victims for a sex-for-hire pedophile ring operating in Atlanta during the height of the murders.

Wayne reminds me a lot of Darrell Brooks, who killed 6 people in Wisconsin (Nov 2021), driving his car through a parade. Darrell is now defending himself in court (Oct 2022) and his behavior is just like Wayne's in these press conferences.
I searched this video because I was just watching Darrell Brooks and thought he reminded me of Wayne Williams. (I had recently watched Mindhunter.)
Darrell brooks is retarded tho, he’s not.
@@Alan_Page Yes a very similar pattern. If you see Wayne Williams' interviews more recently, now as an older man, somewhat smaller than he was back then, he is not believable at all. Back then he had more energy to play the part of a lawyer.
How do you find these vids? Time machine?
I'm not gonna pretend I know what I'm talking about because I watched Mind-hunter I have an interest in criminal psychology and criminality in general, but it's more of a hobby because I'm an author. In my mind what stands against him is the simple fact after his incarceration the killings ceased. If he was wrongfully accused or imprisoned they would not have stopped. If the killer moved elsewhere there would be a spike of child murders somewhere in the states, at least 3 I would guess. Which would draw attention because there would be too many similarities to Atlanta. Plus this killer wouldn't have stopped after getting off with someone else going down for it, he'd feel invincible. He wouldn't be nearly as careful, he would've made some sort of mistake and he wouldn't be able to stay dormant for any notable length of time after killing so many children. Plus having someone else locked up for those crimes and I doubt this killer would be able to keep quiet for long, serial killers have a bizarre notion of copyright almost they don't like not getting credit for their work and they hate other people getting credit. Yes some have gone to the grave and possibly the Atlanta child killer would've been one he did take some extreme precautions and didn't publicly taunt the police. However the killings ceased once Wayne was apprehended and no spike of child killing occurred in any other city or state.
It's a bit like the Jack the Ripper case not in violence but in the way the killings stopped. Famously Jack the Ripper was never caught, there have been a number of suspects over the years. If one of these suspects is guilty I would believe Charles Alana Lechmere to be the guilty one. However Apart form I believe two killing a year or so later, Jack never killed again. Likely these two murders were staged to look like ripper killings they're just wasn't enough similarity, serial killers cannot stop only take breaks long breaks but to stop is impossible for them. My theory with Jack is he either moved some eyewitness accounts do suggest he may have been a sailor, or he died suddenly after his last killing. Both of these theories make sense and Jacks later killings were never picked up upon, but unlikely given his personal MO. Jack shover he was was indeed a sick sick man I look what he did to Mary Kelly, so my belief is he most likely died unless he travelled to a part of the world, were such violent crimes were not so uncommon.
Again this just comes down to a simple fact Wayne is put away the killings cease, there are no spike in child murders in any other state or city. This killer was prolific he would not and could not stop killing, another man in prison for his crimes. He would feel like god couldn't touch him, he'd kill more if anything. My opinion Wayne Williams is the Atlanta Child Killer & is exactly where he belongs he took advantage of racial tension, racial profiling, used his own race to gain trust with boys who would not trust white people or the police, he also took advantage poverty and child prostitution going on in Atlanta and young black boys with dreams of stardom. This is also case that is not talked about enough and one thing it shows is this word bother and sister the is used so casually epically in black communities, needs to stop just because they have the same skin colour doesn't mean you owe them anything. They may not want anything but to drag you down or even hurt you. Your Brother and your sister share blood and have a parent same as you. Overfamiliarity was used as bate here.
Wow, you certainly said a lot, lol, but your comments were engrossing. I have researched the Atlanta murders for several years and I would like to share with you some of the things that I discovered. First of all, it is a common notion that the murders ceased after Wayne was arrested, but that is NOT true. The series of murders that Wayne and his attorney are discussing in this video are victims who were murdered after he went to prison. At least 10-15 of the later victims met all of the parameters of being added to the official Task Force List. Their age, their geographical locations and manner of death all fit the criteria to be added to the List, so again, the murders didn't stop when Wayne was arrested.
Something the majority of people who feel like Wayne is guilty don't know, is that there were a couple of "sets" of murders going on. The first victims are young, little kids. Then the next set of victims are teenagers, then the next set of victims are men in their 20s. What do 20 year old convicted felons have to do with kids?? Serial killers rarely change patterns, they have a "type" that they stalk and murder. A serial killer would not start out killing 8,9,10 year olds, then upgrade to adults. That simply isn't the MO of serial killers!
Here's another fact that most people don't know is that the actual murders of young boys stopped months before Wayne was arrested. So the question that comes to my mind is did someone else go to jail, or a mental health facility, or was in some sort of way incapacitated to kill and that's why little boys were no longer going missing and murdered?? Even the police didn't have a justifiable reason why the victims started getting older.
I enjoyed your thoughts on the Ripper, because that is another case that interests me. I contend that Jack was seriously mentally ill. He was from the dregs of society. I've never quite come up with the reason Jack killed, when did he get started? A lot of serial killers start out as sex offenders and gradually ascend to murder, so what was Jack doing before he started killing? As you pointed out, serial killers don't stop killing on their own. Something happens to them that prevents them from killing: prison, mental health facility, illness or death. I think Jack was committed to a asylum where he probably died.
Back to the Atlanta Murders: the truth of the matter is that there was no lone wolf in Atlanta killing kids. There were at least 3 or more killers operating in Atlanta during the height of the murders. For starters, the official Task Force list muddied the waters, because they added victims to the List that didn't belong there. The 2 girls on the list were not a part of the other murders. There was no reason to believe that Wayne killed them. Again, we agree that serial killers rarely change patterns so killing over 2 dozen boys, then killing 2 girls makes no sense! The girls made the List because their parents joined up with other victims mothers and protested against the Atlanta police. Some of the murders were a part of inner city violence. Some of the victims, especially the teenagers, were involved in drugs and gangs and may have been murdered by drug dealers or rival gang members. There are at least 2 victims on the List that the FBI believes were killed by either a relative or a family friend in domestic violence. Then there are victims who do fit into a serial pattern. These murders were unique in that all of those victims were involved in either a child pedophile sex ring, or prostitution. While investigating the murders, the FBI discovered a sex-for-hire ring involving pedophiles and minor boys. Some of these poor kids were willing to do anything for money, so they were paid to pose for nude pictures and to have perverted sex acts performed on them. That is what the majority of the kids on the List were doing. They were being sexually abused by pedophiles that they knew, and some of them were being pimped out by pedophiles. You have to look at the many connections between victims. They lived in the same neighborhood, or went to school together or played together, they knew each other!! Some of the teenage victims were procuring the young boys to the sex ring because they were getting paid to do that. They never imagined that the little boys would be murdered. Next, the teenage procurers started to be missing and murdered. Then the victims became grown men. The members of the sex ring could not afford to be revealed so they killed the little boys. The teenagers knew them personally, so again, get rid of the witnesses. The goal of the sex ring was to indulge in illicit sex with minors and not be caught. I contend that the pedophiles were esteemed members of the community, like teachers, ministers, policemen and possibly city officials. So where does Wayne Williams fit into all of this?? I am about 95% sure that Wayne was a child pornographer and a procurer of young boys for the sex ring. Wayne took nude pictures of the boys, then these pics were passed around the ring, so "clients" could choose a boy that he wanted, and Wayne likely took the boy to the client. Wayne used his ruse as a "talent scout" to put him in direct contact with youngsters without drawing a lot of attention. Wayne knew the victims and the killers. I don't believe that he personally killed anyone, but he knew who did the killing and he may have helped dispose of some of the bodies. So that's Wayne's involvement in the Atlanta Murders, not a murderer, but a child pornographer. Now I'm going to include a list of names that I want you to research regarding the murders:
Jamie Brooks
Ricky Hawkins
Tom Terrell
Frankie Mealing
Jerry Thornton
John David Wilcoxen

No, they didn't! The police stopped counting, and the media stopped reporting
@@rucianapollard7098 For what reason? Are you silly or what? lmao
@Raymond Chow For what reason?? The mental climate in Atlanta during the height of the murders was chaotic and very scary!! Kids were traumatized by the thought of getting snatched off the streets, and parents were scared to let their children out of their sights!! The police couldn't offer the public any information on why kids were coming up dead. Poor black people in the communities where kids were disappearing didn't trust the police. Some even suspected the police of the murders!!! Then there were the rumors of Klan involvement, and of course, black people were very upset and concerned. In certain housing projects, people were patrolling with bats and guns. It was crucial!! By the time Wayne came along, EVERYBODY was ready for Atlanta's nightmare to be OVER!!! 2 weeks after he was arrested, the Task Force dismantled, and the investigation was over!! So when a few kids came up murdered AFTER Wayne was in jail, the police treated them like regular street crimes, and the media reported them that way!! So that's what I meant when I said, "The police stopped counting, and the media stopped reporting!" Murders in Atlanta that met the parameters of the official Task Force list continued to happen up until 1988, SIX years after Wayne was incarcerated!! So, to answer your question, NO, I'M NOT SILLY, I have done YEARS of research on the Atlanta Murders, and I am very informed about the murders!

Regardless of the suspicion of guilt towards Wayne Williams. It was foul to just close all the 28 cases of the murdered. That's just unheard of. They threw this case together.
He murdered children and was brilliant in hiding it .. wtf you talking about
Pisses me off that people are as completely incompetent as you are and probable against the fact that a man othe than white can Creat theeee murderes
@@adamrobbins5337 you must was there right?!
They closed it to keep the truth from coming out.
It's about money 28 prosecutions is a lot of time and money. Why bother when you're sure you have the killer?
It’s so irritating that he was identified, not only that the sketches were a complete match. He is naming a lot of victims that were slain. It’s Shane for that even the people that say that they got away or seen him with their brother last and never saw their brother again it’s not enough. An adult woman that said a child was banging on her door and he wanted them to see him, wasn’t enough, even though he escaped a possible murder his brother had fatally lost obvious and he identified Wayne Williams as the one that took his brother. But at the end of the day, these are not anybody else’s kids that are dead; that’s out here that are overlooking this so they can always say this and that.
11:25 🚩A laugh/smile escapes him when he hears "We don't know" and looks directly to the camera to check if they got that (you can pause at precisely at 11:26 to see that smile in full picture). He then pretends to readjust his glasses trying to disimulate what he caught himself doing. At that precise instant, for a very brief moment he lost control of his act.🚩 He then readjusts his behavior immediately by staring at the ground for a brief moment
I can see so many similarities in his speech, his way of communicating, his confidence, his looks... with the Ted Bundy's interviews.
GUILTY!!!
Wayne Williams evidence is better than the cops
Looks like he got his face scarred from a razor blade in jail.

...can anyone spell S.E.R.IA.L M.U.R.D.E.R.E.R😳🏵
He knows them all well it sounds like to me. It's so personal with him.
Did the kills (same profile) stop after he went to prison?
Why don’t psychos understand that the more eloquent and detailed they speak on their “innocence”, the more obvious their guilt? Just go do that time and have a few seats, g.
If the guilt was so obvious how come he want found guilty?
@@bloodmoneyhistory6845 Can you ask that again? I don’t understand.
@@DuckiesDad08 if his guilt was so obvious, how come he was never found guilty?
@@DuckiesDad08 40 years later and they literally still cannot find enough evidence against him. He isn’t guilty, there were way more people with way more evidence against them.. for instance, one of his supposed victims was found behind a dumpster outside of a dry cleaners.. there was a whole witness, whom told the police they witnessed the owner of the dry cleaners murder the boy. There was also the call intercepted from the kkk admitting to the killing of one of the children and looking for more, a few of the boys lived with a well known pedophile and he wasn’t even looked at, the whole case is a mess, he spoke on his innocence because the entire world knew his name address and number. He’d be in danger if he didn’t atleast protest it
@@bloodmoneyhistory6845 he was found guilty. Wym? He’s in prison today. He wasn’t found guilty for all the murders though. If that’s what you’re saying, I get it. I also thing the investigation was closed to save face. I think he likely didn’t kill every victim with whom he’s associated, but I don’t imagine he’s completely not guilty.
They let him talk waaay too much
He did it. Some people are in denial
Never had a chance!

Guilty of Cater's murder then scapegoated for the kid murders to protect out of state commerce inn the firm of conventions . News of high crime was swaying groups to hold conventions elsewhere . Its not limited to conventions but they were the single biggest loss of revenue .
No. Friends of the kids and escaped victims ID’d him. Maybe he didn’t kill all of them but he killed a lot of kids.
He sure knows a lot of details. A jury of his peers said so, and I believe them.
I've read several comments here but, I haven't seen anyone mention the highway shootings currently going on in Atlanta.

Guilty. Shut up.
The crazy part is there are people that think he's innocent. What dope are they smoking?
I don’t think that he’s innocent but he wasn’t found guilty of killing any of the children
Wayne Williams got caught dumping a body in the river.... that's not good for his innocent claim
Damn I didnt know Trippie Redd was this old
😂😂😂
Only black lawyer I want is Johnny o well
Right
I definitely believe Wayne was guilty but after I did my own research I always thought he had an accomplice I think this thing was bigger then it was
He didn't do it, read the book "The List" by Chet Dettlinger....Most not all of the boys were involved in selling themselves to older men in a homosexual ring, someone in the ring chocked these boys out, killing them to reach sexual gratification.
I agree with this statement
czcams.com/video/6Tvvd3QwcO0/video.html the film
Never believe Books mate. I used to do research for a couple of great True Crime authors, and you'd be surprised the amount of hood winkery and dodgyness other Authors would do to try and sell a few Books including manufacturing and forging documents to suit their Cause. Same as TV shows/Documentaries they always have one side they want to tell and sell, whether its the truth or not. You can only really go from Police records. And the Police records on this man are pretty conclusive.
@@worstxb1playertylerteehc635 "Never believe books" did you really say that...
Yup. Some of those boys who were killed where child prostitutes who sold themselves for money. That's the part that was left out by the media reports. There was a national pedo ring then as now that was trafficking kids all across the country and Wayne Williams was involved in it. No doubt.
He KNOWS he done this; I mean c'mon, there's NO way you'd be convicted of 28+ murders yet you didn't do sh-t? LOL get real boy, you are a murderer!
He was convicted of 2

Like I have said, I believe racially motivated.

No matter even if drugs were involved.

I say he did not kill those kids.
@@kimberlyhamilton8637 Oh he did
I think he killed some. But, they also threw a bunch on him to solve cold cases. Used a monster to clear the books.
Guilty
I believe Williams had everything to do with the murder of those innocent children. I don't believe he acted alone however. I've heard all kinds of stories about paedophile rings, the klan, Satanists. The pedo ring and Satanists sounds plausible. I think Williams, just like Gacy and Corll, was involved in some kind national, maybe even an international trafficking ring that supplied kids to pervs. He strikes me as a sicko. He was definitely in cahoots with a group of people. He didn't pull this off on his own. No way.
When he went to jail, murders have finished. Too much coincidence, it's very plain to see he's guilty
the murders kept going on idiot. they were swept. under the rug. The KKK set him up, one judge was brave enough to call it out, guess what he was called? N lover. whites of european descent, need to go back to Europe where they belong.
He might have killed a few but no in hell he killed all those children

he was framed because it was getting in the way of the "image" that Atlanta wanted as an up & coming city, they wanted this out of the news & to go away

Imagine being locked with no real evidence!
It’s called “ karma” he did it.
Plenty of "real evidence" presented at the trial and decades later with new technology. Read the book by the one who prosecuted him, Jack Mallard "The Atlanta Child Murders: the Night Stalker." Too many people just don't want to "see" the truth and that's a shame. Even James Baldwin refused to face the truth. See Baldwin's, “The Evidence of Things Not Seen.”
IDKY but something in me always felt that this man was set up! I felt that these murders were a part or something more sinister that had to do with racial divide!
