  • This exhibit conveys the themes and pivotal episodes consistent within the lives of the men for whom this prize is named. By doing so, it is hoped viewers will find these lofty ideals and principles easily within the grasp of their own daily existence. For it is within the mundane realm of daily living that Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Daisaku Ikeda have sought to forge an existence filled with dignity, freedom and happiness for all people.

Though I love Gandhi and King and I read their writings all the time, the writings of Daisaku Ikeda and his actions are so much more profound and I'm sure MLK and King would feel so honored to be considered in the same video with Daisaku Ikeda.

Nice. The way I see it, we do the best we can and leave the rest to GOD'S control. 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. -Therefore, I wouldn't count on worldwide love...good job.

This wonderful video is now unfortunately now slightly out-of-date since now the Soka Gakkai is in 193 countries =)

So what has Daisaku Ikeda done to be put on the same stage as Dr. King and Gandhi? Because writing books and finding schools pale in comparison to what Gandhi and King did in their lifetime.

Let me get this straight. Daisaku Ikeda is deemed a peace activist because of his didactic and ongoing novel series, his efforts to increase Soka Gakkai membership and extend it globally?

So, my question is, if Ikeda is really such an admirer of Dr. King -- then why has Ikeda never spoken out against Japan's discrimination against those people of Amerasian, Burukumin and Korean ancestry who live in Japan. Why has Ikeda never spoken out against capital punishment, as Dr. King and Gandhi did? Why has he never spoken in favor of reparations for those "comfort women," the women taken as sexual slaves by the Japanese military? Where is their civil rights movement? But of course, Ikeda wouldn't speak out for any of these people. It would be an unpopular cause in Japan, and would hurt the New Komeito Party's chances of staying in power.

Undoubtly, Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr. are greatest men in the 20th century, and everybody knows about them. But I wonder who Daisuke Ikeda is. Does anybody hear about him? I suppose this exhibit is a propaganda to raise the image of little Ikeda by exploiting greatness of Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr.
