The original video '140 Hit Songs of 1987' got blocked due to copyright infringement a few weeks ago, so I started to make a new version, adding and replacing some songs. In the meantime, the original video got unblocked, but I decided to upload this new video nevertheless.
I'm heading over to that other now.
In
My favorite rock song in 1987 is i’m still haven’t found what I’m looking for
La bamba
The final countdown
Livin in a prayer
And bad
1987 was one of fhe best years for music, and was also the year I became a fan of the Pet Shop Boys! 35 years of being a Pethead being celebrated this year, especially as I saw them at the Manchester Arena in May. 😍😍😍
Nice how was it?
35 Years Later, Still Timeless Classics !!!
Watching the World Snooker Championship currently, and all the players have a walk-on song from which a snatch is played when they make their entrance. Some are good choices, some bad,one or two amusing like Robert Milkins coming on to I Am a Cider Drinker by the Wurzels and Dominic Dale choosing I'm the Urban Spaceman by the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band (the Spaceman having long been his nickname on the circuit). Ste[phen Maguire has one of the best choices in Whitesnake's Here I Go Again (hopefully the 1982 version which is superior to the 1987 one that was the bigger chart hit); his opponent today Shaun Murphy has Disco Inferno by the Trammps, which is ace.
Thanks so much for making this playlist. Your videos always make me wish that I had a flux capacitor and a DeLorean time machine! 😂🚙
Such an awkward feeling, when one year produced more hits than decade now.
Thank you for this upload. 35 years ago already. The year a relative of mine was born and my closest friend. It is a very strong year with the Fleetwood Mac comeback - 'Little Lies' is a big favourite of mine (probably equal first). 'Call Me' is a guilty pleasure. 'Carrie' much better than 'The Final Countdown'. Very emotional power ballad. My joint favourite along with T'Pau's 'China In Your Hand'. A shame 'Everything Is Coming Up Roses' was never a big hit for Black here. I love the Elton and Jennifer Rush duet. My second fave of this list. Shame it wasn't a huge hit here. Both their voices gel and it's a catchy song. Jennifer Rush never got the credit here bar the divine 'The Power Of Love'. 'Hold Me Now' great ESC winner. 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You' divine ballad and 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' gets me on the dancefloor. They're joint third. Pet Shop Boys were on fire then. God there's so many to list, I don't want to hijack your comments lol.
Madge was on fire then love 'La Isla Bonita'. One of Janet's best ballads 'Lets Wait A While'. 'Luka' kind of hit new ground then, especially as a song about a mistreated child was rare and taboo in 1987. Sam Fox is amazing - my relative born in 1987 fancies her even now! Bruce Willis had a good set of pipes. Talented singer and actor. The lead singer in the 'Shattered Dreams ' video, could look like someone from 2022! 'Songbird' is absolutely beautiful. Erasure finally hit the big time and deserved. A very top year musically. Terrence Trent Darby is wonderful - gorgeous voice.
Thank you for another great walk down memory lane. Every time I hear these songs, they instantly take me back to some of the best years of my life!!!
I was born that year, 35 years of timeless best 80s music! Love them all 😚
another great list to start off the weekend!!!!! love it!!!!!
One of the best years for music.
I was a junior in high school in 1987.
Favorites: Crowded House debut album 1986
U2 Joshua Tree 1987, Grammy for Best Album
Peter Gabriel, So 1986, Nominated for Grammy Award
INXS, Kick 1987
Pop Goes the World, 1987
Steve Winwood, Back In the High Life, 19875
Bruce Hornsby and the Range, That's the Way it Is, 1986
ABC, When Smokey Sings. Matin Fry's comeback record after cancer treatment.
Great Year for hit songs!
I too was a junior . If it weren't for music I doubt I would've made it through high school.
@@WonderWhatHappened 😉❤
I was playing the hell out of The Joshua Tree and So then. My friend bought Kick.
@@rjjcms1 😊❤
Drafted in 1987.... a very significant year.
Thanks for uploading my Hero!!
🙏🏻❤️
Fantastic list and great work putting it together.
Richard Marx, Icehouse, Rick Astley, Heart, Johnny Hates Jazz, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, George Michael, Miami Sound Machine, Eurythmics, Def Leppard
Music that stands the test of time and doesn't sound dated.
Awesome video!! The 80's music will never be forgotten! Thanks for the walk down memory lane
Couple of songs at least that I hadn't heard for absolute donkey's years on this. Near the start of that year I landed my first permanent job, having been on temporary contracts before then with the odd period kicking my heels in between.
I was 3 when theses songs were in the chart. And I started to watch theses acts on TOTP and on Going live.
I was born July 30th 1987 some of the best music and movies!! ❤️
La Bamba by Los Lobos had just swiped the number 1 spot in the UK that week, with the rest of the top 5 including Who's That Girl by Madonna,Always by Atlantic Starr,It's a Sin by the Pet Shop Boys (great record) and Alone by Heart (the high note to end all high notes). The ball was set rolling towards buying our first house at that very time.
Took me back to college. I graduated in 87.
Great times and memories!!!!
Cool list

When music was really music ... So much better than what you sometimes hear on the radio nowadays
Music today is still music, just not your type of music. It’s just your taste, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. You try to argue, you only prove my point further.
Music may still be music, but this isn't even one of the strongest years of the 80s in my opinion (not the weakest either) and yet it knocks the autotuned mainstream pop on some radio stations play now into the most cocked of cocked hats.
@@rjjcms1 it’s not “may.” It “is” still music. Whether you wanna accept it or not. As said, it’s not your cup of tea. Everyone has different tastes in music. And even so, people back then blamed mainstream pop music from the 80s back then. Much like what you’re doing now. It’s all taste in the end.
@@arturoromero951Dear lord it's just an opinion nothing more...everyone has their taste in music, no matter what age... and there's nothing wrong with that ! And besides where do I try to argue,? Did I offended someone? Or am I not allowed to have my own opinion ?
@@stephanievantielen5615 and that’s fine! Everyone has their own tastes. But to shamelessly attack one’s tastes or hold their opinion higher than others is unprofessional. That’s all I recommend. Not saying you did it, but just saying in general
Thanks for pumping up the volume SRG now dance, dance, dance!
I heard a rumour that you were planning to drop an amazing playlist today whispered to me by Allison Hargreeves so I pumped up the volume, it makes me wanna dance with somebody. I just cant stop loving your playlists cos when I fall in love, it'd be forever. You're the channel for me, the way You make me feel! Nothing is gonna stop me now. I lean on you for amazing songs like this when I'm not strong. Didn't we almost have it all? I was warned, if I don't fight for your right to party the rhythm wasn't gonna get you, tonight! hence I couldn't rock steady, steady rocking all night long, or may be because I'm bad, I'm bad, I'm really really bad. Who's bad?
RIP No-no-Notorious.
Enjoy your weekend!
Thinking BIG there.
1987 was a great year for music, and the year I graduated from high school. By the way, the timing of this video couldn't be more appropriate. Debbie Gibson has two songs in this video, and yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the release of her debut album, Out of the Blue.
😎Class of 1987 checking in!

Nothing Like the Music in the 80's & in 1987 was Definitely 1 of those Great Years !!! 👍🏻
I am working in a radio station since 1995,and the best songs remains the ones from the 80's and the beginning of the 90's. Nice compilation.

I hear violins! And forget everything!
A great video for a Saturday afternoon. Thank you.
What a year, mixture of absolute clasics, forgotten gems and slightly traumatic childhood disco memories! Special mention for Pepsi and Shirley - Heartache, which could fall into all 3.
That year I was turrning 10 yrs old many hits I grew up with..many great artists are gone but only the queen of pop still remain in limelight..kudos sir Francis..loved it here in the Philippines..👍💪🤝🙏🏼💖😋🇵🇭
Thanks for another great list Random Guy.
It wasn't a great year musically, for my tastes.
I was mostly listening to Australian music, which you included quite a few examples of. Thank you.
Was also listening to U2 in the non-Aussie music scene. Otherwise it was mostly indie music.
best year for music and my life. 1987 first year at University 😀
Ooh the memories! goddamnit!!! 😢 🔥❤️🔥
Sing it Johnny. I sure wish I could turn back the clock too!
Even the One Hit Wonders of the 80's are better than today's music... We, GEN X's, will ALWAYS know how to rock... Even in the nursing homes🤣🤣🤣
I saw white snake about 5 years ago. Amazing

Wonderfull life, the best one ❤❤❤
Best thing to wake up to here on a cold Saturday morning in Sydney 😉
And to wind down to here late on a warm, humid Sunday night a 45-minute drive away from the northwesternmost outskirts of London. Now,where's my glass of wine?
I love these videos, always great to discover a forgotten classic

So much Synth pop
Woah Can’t we try finally got featured
Se alguém souber e puder me ajudar, agradeço.

Just reading George Michaels name gives me the goosebumps legend gone to soon riep my teenage idol
I wasn't expecting Jimmy Barnes to pop up on this list.
ah the year I got into MTV and watched way too much of it! Really great year for music.
Man, how could you possibly leave out Def Leppard's Hysteria? Best song ever.
Hysteria is included in the 1988 video.

My mom's bday is soon and she was born in 1987. I'll send it to her.
I dig adding The Firm to the list...novelty songs (especially anything featured on the Dr Demento Show) got little respect back then.

The Firm - Star Trekkin'... wtf? I thought that only was a joke from the Dr Demento's sessions... 🤣
I was 7 in 1987....
Caution: Earworms ahead.
I just realised that I did not really like the pop pop in 87 but that was a switch to bands, poodle rockers and no longer the top pop charts.
I think I am 83, 84, 85 86 pop, but developed 86 87 ...
Felicitaciones Some Randon Guy, gran trabajo que haces.
