The 80’s were some of the best years, and I really miss them. We had the best music, and life was so much easier then!! ❤
Fell in love for the first time in 87 and these were the soundtracks to it.
80s music is the best.
Nothing cheers me up more than an 80s song compilation❤
Thanks a million !!!
I love the 80's music nothing beat it.
Haha “Beat It”
A big part of my growing up years here in the Philppines..10 yrs younger back then..loved it here..👍💿💖🙏🏼🇵🇭
1987 was a great year
1987. I remember every single track on this year's countdown.
Its a little odd how each song seems to flow into the next though,😊. Like it was ordained that way.
As a Brit and having been around back then I recognise two-thirds to three-quarters of these.
1987 is hands down the best year for music in the 80s!!
Agreed
Those are 1984 and 1986
@@danone987 1984 and 1986 were amazing...but I still think its 1987
My vote goes to 1984.
I can remember exactly where I was at some point in time when each of these songs played in 1987 . I got so much trivia knowledge of all these artists that it's sick. I'm such an 80's dork. I couldn't afford albums so I'd either tape these songs on my boom box from the radio and edit out the commercialsor managed to scrape up enough cash for the cassette single.
Oooh some really great songs in there
THE EIGHTY MUSIC ROCKS TOO MY FRIEND 🎸
Not a dud in the bunch. This is the year I turned 16 and I love it all!
I listened this music chart when I was 11 on Radio Miraflores (David Lemor), Lima.
Grandioso año de la música Pop & Rock, que dio oportunidad a muchos artistas y grupos que tuvieran su One Hit Wonder.
Otros repitieron éxitos y siguieron su carrera triunfal hacia el top de listas.
37 years have gone by fast.
This was the best year ever for pop music....
Definitely!!

知っている曲ばかりです!!!ILove The 80's music!!!
simply awesome
1987 best songs of the 80s in my opinion
Some of these came out in 1986
True
I counted 17 songs on this that were already in the British charts in 1986. Nearly all of those became hits here in the last quarter of the year, but number 44 (Samantha Fox) was a smash as far back as Easter time while 31 (Chris de Burgh) and then 8 (Bruce Hornsby & the Range) blew up big during the summer holidays. The others were 32 and 97 (both Cutting Crew),40 and 47 (both Genesis),92 (the Pretenders),66 (Swing Out Sister),64 (To Be a Lover by Billy Idol),37 (Control by Janet Jackson),34 (Kim Wilde),30 (Open Your Heart by Madonna),25 (Duran Duran),10 (Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi) and 3 (Gregory Abbott),plus 95 (Lionel Richie) just scraped in to join the party in time for Christmas. On the other hand,Tiffany and Glen Madeiros were both number 1s on this side of the Atlantic but in 1988 and in the latter's case not until the middle of summer that year!
They may have been released in 1986 but had their peak in 1987. In addition Billboard uses a December 1-November 30 calendar for their year end charts

RFTW was a great band!
80s YE And YE nowadays are 2 different world...
In 80s, songs don’t always stick for a long time since we don’t have streaming and there’s no other way to promote a single except putting it on radio and releasing an MV for it, so entering YE become a thing that is only for top 10 hits, they mostly peak at 1-10 or even spend multiple weeks in their peak despite it’s not a #1 song
Nowadays, apart from radio and MV, streaming became more important than ever, that cause Hot 100 entry to spend a much longer which is a reason why Billboard need to put recurrent rules (20/50 or 52/25), songs that are strong enough can stay for 20, 30, 52, or even 90 weeks, that cause YE is focusing on longevity rather than the peak position, as a result, some top 5 or top 10 or even #1 cannot made YE while some songs that never reach higher than top 25, 40 or even 50 can have an appearance (2022 situation is bit worse, we had “She Likes It” peaked #63 and “Flower Shop” peaked #64...)
I agree. Sales and airplay differences maybe the reason for that
Charts were best back before the era where a song could debut at #1, because airplay was determined by combining a large number of radio station playlists.
With or without you by U2 should have been #1 or in the top 5 in 1987.

Didn’t “I just died in your arms tonight” comes out in ‘86?
Question.... How can some songs on the year end charts be labeled as "New", since they aren't climbing further on a year-end chart?
I think I just answered my own question... First song by that artist (in that incarnation) on the Hot 100 charts? "In that incarnation" because, for instance, Dan Hill had been on the Hot 100 year end charts before by himself. This was a duet with Vonda, which was new.
Can you read the description? thank u

@@manel4034 Wow.... That was a little rude, but thank you for your helpful pointer. (I said that I answered my own question in the first comment, but isn't being a dick fun!)
