Nieman has definitely lawyered up. He hasn't said anything on Twitter since the Sinquefield cup.
If I have one goal in life it is to get Twitter's lawyers to conduct their affairs openly on the app. Hopeless obviously but such a culture is necessary to prevent exploitation and excessive control of user behavior, information, thought, and emotion.
He's going to sue Magnus for defamation, and win, like he won the game. Probably $2.5 million, so $1.5 million after the attorney takes his cut.
@@jestice75 Please don't get team hans' hopes up. (Btw I'm team hans.)
@@nicbentulan i think his assesment is definitely fair since hans will be denied many tourneys with many high level prizes. Usually in high level chess tourneys you get paid even I you just participate so you don t even need to prove he would win a lot or something like that. Also, magnus brought huge scrutiny to hand everywhere, mentally must be devastating for a young kid to become the villain of the chess world. He has at the same time to prove he is strong and deserving of 2600-2700+ elo but also if he wins a lot the accusations of cheating skyrocket, plus now that he is not doing so well in the last 10 games people say "look he s not cheating anymore because they increased security". I think the estimation is quite right in this situation since something like this can bring people to suicide potentially, it's defamation on such a huge scale and it's mainly magnus who brought that (plus hikaru that went immediately full force on insinuating he is definitely cheating, and then had to dial it back a bit because of potential legal backlash)
@@nicolarobatto7469 yeah well maybe. hans' success in suing magnus is like wesley so's possibly retaining both the us chess championship and the fischer random championship this month: i'll be really glad if it happens, but eh i don't necessarily think it will happen.

Once labelled as a cheater you cannot easily disassociate yourself from that issue even if you did not commit it.
So the issue is with labelling someone right?
Read between the lines

@@VirideSoryuLangley You could. And no one has heard of you, so your accusation would carry no weight with anyone with the power to do anything about it

With the exception of e3, which is a book move with tons of theory, every move in that line is the best move for white. It's not playing for tricks, it's improving your position as much as possible while your opponent drives off a cliff.
Knowing common blunders your opponent might play is not ignoring "real chess"
@@Linkfanoftheyear I’m saying to not play hope chess and hope for silly tricks. No good player will ever play b5 after e3. I never said white played bad, I just said to get out of the habit of praying for cheap tricks that’s all. Also e4 and Nf3 are usually more ambitious approaches than e3 since e3 is solely intended to stop b5 and yields a more passive position.

This is an unedifying spectacle. Whether you believe Hans cheated in the game against Magnus or not, there is no evidence that he did. It is not right to insinuate that he did without evidence.
He might not have cheated otb (I personally believe he did), but he did cheat over 100+ times online for prize money worth thousands of dollars. That should have consequences.
Honestly, Hans is lucky no one is pressing charges for fraud against him. He would have more problems up his ass otherwise.
He was a good player. He is also a money chaser. A money chaser will allow all options possible to get the most money. That now includes engines and pushing younger, potentially stronger players. This scattergun approach of trying to prove Han's guilt by association to Maxim even though they have not collaborated for the past two years ( from the period even chesscom is saying there is no evidence that Hans cheated anywhere ) is gathering more bodies by the minute .
Do you even know why the Norwegian Chess Association president resigned? Because he cheated in the 2016-2017 Pro Chess League on the Norway Gnomes team.
Personally, I'm happy Magnus has exposed so much cheating at the top level.
So will their be a civil case for slander, I wonder?
Hard to prove slander when you are an admitted cheater.
@@kennyg1358 Indeed
@@kennyg1358 What cheating did he admit to? His students were saying things they shouldn't while he was playing. That's it. Blown way out of proportion.
@@danieltaom he played the moves and was actively looking at the suggestions. He was, by definition, getting outside help--ergo, he was, in fact, cheating.
@@danieltaom Also, that's his side of the story. Which took him months to come out with after getting that email
This whole thing has been marketing 🤣
Nice gaslighting.

These guys should just be banned from all tournaments. Chess doesn't need serial cheaters.
I have a problem with people who come up with these self-righteous comments. It's só woke!
@@AnnaSchoneveld what's self righteous about calling out cheaters for what they are
Document with a whole lot of nasty discoveries.
Using his pupil to clear his public image. Nice.
Speech selves for its chess.
Would be great if you also share your own opinion on things like this statement from dlugy. I personaly think that Magnus only mentioned dlugy in that interview because he is a known cheater, so that with the wording "his mentor maxim dlugy must be proud of him" he could actually speak out kinda directly that he thinks that hans cheated when he got this extreme speed elo rise, without insinuating that dlugy directly is involved in any methods he thinks hans used.
I do also believe that dlugy is putting this statement out for damage control, who wants to send kids to a known chess cheater where the latest news come up when you google him. I do also believe that dlugy is comming up with a wild story which doesnt even makes sense at all, to justify how this could have happened when in reality the games he admitted to were 8 games in a row with 98%+ accuracy iirc. Also what kinda chess lesson is that where a bunch of juniors sitting in a room with a grand master to suggest moves for his prizemoney tournament he just participates in lol
The guy is chasing clout, Magnus wasn't insinuating anything current.
Liars and cheaters always come up with greater lies to cover up previous lies.
@@shawncarter7188 I can't blame him for adressing something after Magnus dropped his name, would totally do the same if i am a chief chess officer of some chess acadamys and actually earn my money because of my reputation. The excuse and reasoning for his cheating is just on a level that i can't believe without admitting to believe everything that someone can come up with.
I do think that if you spend the majority of your life to a game, with much of your waking hours dedicated to improving yourself at said game, chances are the other important sections of your life are neglected. Like how to deal with people.
Hans Beads Nomann butt himself
People are confusing accusations of Hans not being a good player vs. Hans being a cheater (or Maxim for that matter). He obviously is a very strong player, without any outside help or cheating. But that still doesn't affect the question of his integrity.
I don't understand why people always feel the need to point out "I am a strong chess player" - "he is a strong player". The cheating risk isn't inversely proportional to natural player strength. Rather, a very strong player actually has a lot of incentive to cheat in addition, probably more than a weak player.
It's not beginners and casuals that take drugs, it's the top athletes. It's the bodybuilders that have already invested years and years and start to plateau that will look out for ways to make more progress.
Agadmator ( Tony), thanks for being a leader in this issue. The chess world looks to you for clarity and unbiased information. I would like to know what your thoughts are on this matter.
Thanks for providing updates on these without making any conclusions or accusations. That is why your channel is of such high quality. This whole thing started with Hans beating Magnus in a classical in-person game. To my knowledge no one has presented any evidence of Hans cheating during that game and they keep referring to other times when Hans cheated online. Of course, there should be heavy consequences for Hans cheating online but what about that over-the-board game?
Hans Niemann’s “Mentor” Mr Dodgy…
I know my phone is giving me adds gathered from subjects I am thinking about. And YOU can test this wild accusation too by picking up a dictionary, some dice and thinking about the words the dice come up with. You might even turn pale....
No shit.
I never fib.... Throw a page nr, throw the nr for the word, and within 2 minutes the adds you get will involve the funky word....
Who is in charge of this human rights crushing tech. And why is this tech legal?
“A device that can run a chess engine and communicate with another device” that sounds like a smartphone
Yeah, a smartphone can easily pass a metal detector as everybody knows
@@HH-mf8qz you would only have to find the device that the phone send the information too 👍… the person not playing chess has the smart phone, other person has the device that would pass security 👍 didn’t think i would have to explain that part.
