    Absolutely great game, a true classic. Max was relentless with his attacks, sacrificing pieces and leaving Hans one imperfect move away from getting crushed. There were crazy sacrifices all over the board, any wrong replies would be heavily punished which forced extremely precise calculation,bwhite's position was crazy with his king on the run, and overall the game was just incredibly wild. Given Hans' position was nearly completely busted many times and Max was achieving incredible counter play with brilliant sacrifices, there didn't seem like any way Hans could survive being checkmated or at least having to toss material into the fire and be completely lost. Somehow he pulled it out with precise responses, a trade down, and a great endgame. Classic game for sure, a lot of fun to watch. Thanks, Antonio, you're the best

    I have two questions.
    1. Why in the early moves is it important for the Queen to give the check on a4 first, before taking the pawn on d4?
    2. When the Queens are exchanged, isn't it better for black to play Qe6, then Bxe6 and Kxe6, getting the King closer to the action already? May be there'll be no more need to run over to c8 somehow!?

    • @izzy7091
      @izzy7091 Před rokem +1

      1 should be quite standard theory. my take is if you don't do that black gets a free kc6 and don't have to put the bishop on the not so useful d7, which means winning 2 extra tempi for that pawn. 2 then you blunder b7 pawn to the rook and probly f7 as well.
      ps: not high elo player, didn't check engine

    • @Catofborealvalley
      @Catofborealvalley Před rokem +2

      You can play Qxd4 instead of Qa4+, and they transpose into the main line almost all the time, except Qa4+ ALWAYS leads to the main line because it forces Bd7, whereas the Qxd4 doesn't, it gives black another option, and the line goes something like this: 5. Qxd4, Nc6; 6. Qd1, exd5; 7. Qxd5, and here black has a choice between Bd7 (main line) and Be6, Qxd8, Rxd8 which leads to an endgame which is uncomfortable for white, because Nb4/Nd4 to c2+ forking king and rook is a hard-to-deal with threat for white. So in conclusion, Qa4+ limits blacks options and Qxd4 mostly transposes, but does allow black to go for a super specific very sharp endgame line with Be6, where white isn't clearly better.
