Awesome video!! Very well done!
Passenger door "cup holder"may actually be a fire extinguisher holder...
Call me when it’s got the h2 engine.
You know someone out there is already working on it.
I will be owning one sometime in 2020. Yes I'm a Kawi fan I have a 2018 Teryx4 and KLX250. Love them all.
Just had one come into my work. Very impressed. Fender liners by feet are metal. No worry of being impaled with branches. Trailing arms are arched. Roll cage didn’t require a jack to install like some rops system. May not be the fastest, but lotta thought was put into this sxs.👍🏻 just realized how big that radiator is for a NA motor compared to others
There's a few things Kawi needs to do.
1) Lose the "Teryx" name and stick with just "KRX 1000"
2) Lose weight. All of the extra steel components need to be replaced with UHMW.
3) Add a fused buss bar system for wiring accessories like the winch, light bars, stereo.
get rid of that stupid handle on pass side. Its just a rattle trap like the rzr
@@breakfastclub3909 that's what I was thinking .. passenger seems to be riding a dirtbike over there lol
And a turbo
And some dancin gurls and cocain
And some beer
That’s one awesome machine just seen it in Virginia at trailfest very well built!!!! I seen where a lot of people were complaining about the weight it’s heavy because it was built to handle the terrain built way better than any other machine on the market period!!!
What's it weigh?
That is one awesome looking paint job! Love it! Those green wheels and LED lights...really digging that. Those air intakes are really useful.
Kawasaki all the way. Been a personal choice of mine for decades. .... urk back up.. what a CVT? :O Omgosh. Outside of a CVT, love this thing. Wish I could justify having 1. Great review as always sir. TFL is fortunate to have you doing these vids for them.
Best ATV channel by far! Keep rolling the videos.
CVT transmission temperature gauge. Totally necessary. Installed one on my 2016 Polaris turbo. Had too after 4 belts. Next side by side. A real transmission. Honda talon turbo
No need for a gauge in my X3. It's a Polaris problem.
Dive Bar Casanova never had the problem in my rzr. Funny every brand has a problem. I think the talon is a beautiful machine in the dealers. Looks nimble. Steel think for dune runs it wheel do fine but will fall short in the power segment. Like this Kawasaki, talon, xx and Yxz. The only true big hitters are rzr and x3. And I’m glad my wife talked me into the turbo. The price difference new as apposed to the add on of a turbo to a n/a is cheaper. My xpt4 was 3k more that the n/a. The turbo kits are a lot of money. Prob with the talon is their turbo will be of a different company. Just remember and x3 or rzr turbo will always stop these n/a machines. 😎
Hey bud I think your engine transmission alignment is off. I have an alignment tool and have helped several folks make sure there belt is in perfect alignment. I've seen brand new units have slightly off belt alignment. Trust me it's very common.
I have changed the clutches to STM and now run a G Boost belt. So far all works ok. A lot of money to make this Polaris run effectively. I hate when traveling long distances ( Virginia to Idaho) and my biggest worry is if the Polaris is going to let me down.
@@johnkraft5640 align the clutches. you spent money where it wasn't needed on BS that won't solve the issues.
Awesome looking unit!
Cant wait 4 the ride review!
I love it! My 2012 T4 has been a great machine and I'm sure Kawi has a winner here as well.
Honestly... this KRX is beautiful! Great stuff Kawasaki!
I see these everyday, I work at Kawasaki. Made in Lincoln Nebraska
This thing looks sweet! If I were into SxS's, this would be my top choice. But I'm waiting for a Brute Force with this 1000cc engine. Call me old fashioned, but I still think handlebars and
It's all fun bikes atv sxs Not better... different.
@yfz450rx We have opted for 50" since 2013 because we have hundreds of miles of 50" from our back door. The 50 works great at Moab also

biz4two biz4 yeah my brother has an older (94?) KLX 650 dirt bike that has this sight glass. I’m sure Kawasaki has been doing it forever
Nice to see the available options as well as the things that come stock. In the market and I will definitely have to take a closer look at this machine.
I was hoping for this, exactly, but in a 63" model. That extra 5" is pretty critical as I'm already pushing it with my 19 Teryx 4 in terms of bush bashing here in Eastern Ontario. I don't think 68" would work for me. Now the question is, should I wait to see if they release another version, or do I go for the Talon 1000X. Otherwise, I love that they went with that wheel/tire option. I love the snorkels. Specs look great... I'm still really excited to see it in action.
Just gotta point it out, the front end kinda looks like a newer Polaris rzr
And a raptor.
Yay team green. The added competition will drive improvements with all makers.
Very nice. I like the color, the hp figure, transmission set up, the high air intakes and some of the accessories like the spare wheel tray. Too bad they don't have a narrower model at 64". 68" is too wide for my area. I think Kawasaki did a great job overall. Very nice looking machine as well.
Ya that is what i was wondering. Here in Colorado we dont care about width but i bet those eastern states might say something
Looks great. I'm not ready to trade the XP turbo for one yet but it should be fun. I remember being amazed going from my very first RZR S to a 900XP then from it to the turbo. I love the competition. It is a win for everyone when manufacturers complete.
Its 112 HP and is 1900 pounds !!! "The New Sherman Tank"
@Joe Anthony we build sand cars that weigh less than that...and start at about 350hp
Finally, a good looking sport sxs that isn't polaris
GreyFox250 I never was much of a sxs guy, Polaris, CanAm and Yamaha weren’t very appealing but after seeing this one I’m hooked now!
Good to see some competition in the sport market.
TFL does a great job. I'm very interested in one of these. Been looking at the X3 for the whoops. not sure how well this one would do. Will it skip across the whoops or beat you to death? I'm ok with a non-turbo if it will get me across the desert whoops. I imagine the gearing is such that it will eat belts less often. My brother in law's X3 Turbo R goes about 1000 miles before he looses his belt. I agree that the cockpit looks a little plain. I'm curious about the noise level and seat comfort as well. I was actually surprised the starting cast is $20,500. I'm sure they would sell more if the were in the 18k range. I'm sure its built like a tank and very reliable. Full doors are nice. The only things I noticed that it doesn't have standard are a roof and a 2 inch rear hitch. I'd like it to have bumpers stock for that price too. Lots of folks are blasting around the desert these days. My fear is running into one of them..
Definitely looks like the took the safe route and followed the XP 1000 route, but took it up a notch. Should be a good machine.
Ok Suzuki....it's your turn!
I hope so too!
SW H Not where I'm standing LOL!
@SW H to be clear I'm not fan boy, but I am hopeful for a rebound from them. I really hate to see any manufacturer die out. I love Motorsports and the people that love motorsports and really like to see new options for our peeps!
They are parcel partner companies already dont think they would bother to compete with each other
This will be the Suzuki just like the KLX400 and DRZ400 are basically the same bikes.
Outstanding Kawasaki does it again, I love it!
I would buy this over the Polaris RZR any day of the week. Damn this thing looks like a beast. Can't wait to see it in action.
Great review as always!! With your knowledge and personal opinion what’s the best deal between all the brands out there? With one you get more for the money? Thank you
I like it. It lags from start to about 20 mph but that can be corrected. Turning radius is wide.
I see similarities to the Arctic Cat/Textron Wildcat XX, another seriously overbuilt machine with great suspension.
LOve the looks of it. Hard to tell if the seats had much or any bolstering. It looks like a lot of upgrades come stock and that is nice. One BIG PROBLEM in my home state Maine, 68 inches is not going to fly. The landowners want 60-inch max and the clubs had been trying to change it to 65. Right now we are still at 60inches although many people have machines that are wider.
The interior left alot to be desired. Well maybe not 3 years ago but it is a strong market. I love the exterior. It does look to have nice storage for a sport sidexside. Got to love the carnivores!!
Unfinished looking interior.
So question, I’m 6’8” and I can fit in a rzr but my knees are touching the dash. Do you think this has more space leg room wise than a rzr?
Wierd question what do you do for a living
I think Kawasaki did an amazing job. Speaking on looks first: Of course guys are going to aftermarket accessorize to the hilt, BUT.... I am incredibly proud of the work Kawi put into making their factory base model really stylish! I was super disappointed into the 'Pontiac Aztex' look of the new RZR Pro (and I am a RZR fan!) and the long, flat nose folks talk about the Talon (I'm also a Honda fan) but wow Kawi hit it out of the park. That iconic 'fastback'style cage everyone likes, the 15" bead lock wheels, the stylish wrap around seats, the grill, the lights; it's absolutely beautiful. And to boost, WOW! The factory accessories look actually incredible! I am shocked. I personally don't have any brand loyalty and Kawi is a testament to not being stubborn and sticking to one brand. They have came up with what seems to be an amazing machine. Performance: We will see and I am excited. So far they have hit all the marks, I', really impressed. The beefy suspension, promising CVT configuration and power out of their 1000 makes it exciting to see how it will hold up. Great great job Kawasaki. To the video creator, great job hitting this quick review for us to see, you speak well, don't linger and get to the point.
Sweet unit, Kasawaski did their home work.
Bob Thomas Yeah, Last time they attended classes was back in 1999 LoL
Looks good and has some really nice features it’s sure to be a big hit not totally sure of the width for the mid west but it’s good to add competition just makes the sport stronger
The design has a lot of things that copy RZR, such as those air intakes, tires, and frontend and rear end styling. But with that said it looks like a very solid machine to try in the market. I bet artic cat is sweating bullets right about now with these japanese cars coming to the market and the good response to them.
"We left this oil sight glass on for the convenience of our customers, no one has ever done this before and it is completely innovative!"
Maybe a first on a side by side, but I have had several motorcycles that had oil sight glasses.
My 1988 Bayou has a sight glass 😂😂
until a small rock smacks it and it cracks.
Briggs and Stratton 1917
Our new ride I love kawasaki 😁 such a pretty side by side
Super nice. But the prices for these are out of control, I can buy a brand new car for less, then take what I saved and buy a used 4 wheeler as well.
Alexander Blackburn these have way more R&D and features then a used 4 wheeler. You can’t even compare the two give your head a shake.
Oh does it have more features, regulations, and R&D then a honds civic for which I can get under 20k? Nah, I didnt think so.
Now you are comparing it to a Honda Civic haha oh brother. Do your homework my man.
I am saying if a legitimate car costs less, then the toy is overpriced. I didnt do a comparison of capabilities, but one of R&D, and cost of manufacturing.
A mass produced factory automobile can’t be compared to a niche market powersport vehicle for that reason.
About bought one, but as in any case when a company bring something new out, I'm waiting for them to upgrade. I love it though. Saving up now
Them front mud flaps look sick
Comparison video for all 2020 models soon I hope
This looks dope !!!
Great looks time will tell
I saw the machine in person, and is impresive how overbuild it is, I regret buying my rzr 3 weeks ago 😥
see it that way- yours faster and lighter..;-)
Not that this won't be a great machine..but something to keep in mind is its the first year model. So maybe you are avoiding first year issues by sticking with your RZR instead? Either way, you still have a great machien!
FYI the rear soft panel window keeps the dust "IN'
Lucky basterd
@@izom you mean breakage prone.
Just hoping for it to come as a 4 seater
I kinda chuckled at his amazement of an oil level sight glass. “They came up with it during development and decided to keep it “
I know, that doesn't make sense.
Glad to see Kawi in the game. Was starting to get excited with the real 4wd, and a real locking front diff, but lost me with the cvt, then the size, and the weight... I can't be the only one wishing for a 50" class machine with some power and suspension, AND a geared trans. These sports cars just aren't as fun on tight east coast trails! (i.m.h.o.) Imagine a 50" (class) version of the Talon, with say 70 h.p. to keep the nannys happy...
I have found my machine!!! I hope they take Polaris to school on how to build a durable and reliable machine
@yfz450rx Yea ok. My neighbor hasn't been pounding on his 2014 Teryx 800 for the last 6 years with ZERO problems. Must all be in my head.
Dude, what r u talking about? Teryx are known to be bulletproof, and krx1000 looks like it should be too. The thing to bitch about is power and weight. Its heavy, but its built beefy.
@@bigtwinz3296 Certain years of Teryx's are known to throw rods. Where have you been?
That may not be difficult to do.
Polaris owns the school.
I feel like the sight glass is a good way to see if your oil is milky after you swamp it. hahaha
Where in Palm Desert is he? I'm looking for new local places to ride
Does it come with the roof?
I'm not a cvt fan but that sounds like a better setup then the others
it's decent, I know kawasaki, suzuki, and yamaha have all done that on their CVT atv's for years and years. The nice thing is it's another thing you can tune, so you can put really stiff springs on the wet clutch and it won't engage at all until say 2500rpm. Then you're still able to tune the shift out of the CVT separately. I think the original Wildcat 1000 did the same thing but it had problems so guys were always doing "wet clutch deletes" to convert them to setups like Polaris and Can Am where the belt goes slack when you get down to idle speed
@@575conbon yep on utility sxs but this is first for sport model since can am and polaris use dry clutch.
Why aren't you a a fan of cvt?
@@silverback7659 same reason I like a manual transmission in truck like choosing my own gear when going up or down a hill more durable engine breaking not to say cvt don't have their good points too mostly being lighter easier too drive and smooth power band.
My biggest question is how much interior noise? Can you actually talk to your passenger or do you have to yell? Especially after you have a windshield and back window.
Still nothing on rzr or canam but nice to see kawi stepping up there game
999cc parallel twin 112hp, but is it two stroke ?
I can't believe they didn't put a turbo on it to compete with other UTV's. Other than lack of power, I love this machine.
It’s nice to see new entrants into the market, however I feel like they need to offer a competitive package and some new or different features to differentiate themselves from the competition. This unit has some unique features for sure, but a N/A 1000, that lack-lustre gauge package, I don’t see anyone abandoning Polaris Turbos to go green. This will likely capture brand loyalists, and I can appreciate the costs of designing a new machine, but I feel like Honda and Kawasaki really fell short with their first-entrants. When Yamaha entered, they had the only manual transmission and 3-cylinder unit and it was designed for sport riding. Though they’ve fallen behind in recent years, it was on par in terms of performance but defined the category of sport SXSs. I’m jus not sure what this Kawasaki does other than exist.
It's funny to see people complain that 112hp isnt enough. 90% of people will never fully use all that hp. It takes 3 to 5 years to bring a new atv utv to market so at that time I dont think turbos were the norm. They already have a turbo set up shown in other videos. Any new sport sxs at 20 grand or less is a bargain compared to the close to 30000 turbo rzrs being offered.
Matt Smith - I agree with much that you have said, however I respectfully disagree with your assumption ‘90% of people’ will not use all the HP. Every time you fully depress the throttle you are using it. This is especially true on CVT machines.
Well said. Overall, not a bad machine but doesn’t stand out in the current offerings from other manufacturers. You can get into a base 64” X3 turbo for over $1500 less, and an XP Turbo S for $500 more.
Not impressed with a press junket on a man-made course. That wasn’t rockcrawling, that was going up a bumpy hill.
Kawasaki exists for someone looking to buy something for cheap in the used market lol. I don't think I've ever even met anyone who bought a brand new Kawi
@@jasonquaile2492 for it to be used someone boyght it mew
Saw they have a Turbo you can get for this machine also taking it over 200hp.
I'm not sure about that... I saw the turbo takes it to about 170HP. Which would put it right in line with the RZR Turbo S and Turbo XP. Not sure that a turbo will give a twin cylinder of this size a 90HP gain, but I reckon it's possible! Lol
The one big problem I see is with the oil sight glass could get smashed in rough terrain from rocks flying and you loose all your oil
I want one but not sure about that CVT.........I would have to test drive a while for sure.
There is one in the dealer in my town
Is there e four seater
The only thing that worries me is the air intakes!! If you tip it on its side you risk ingestion on either side to the motor or Cvt.
That film over the opening is waterproof.
Most machines have air intakes in the same place rzr, canam sport and trail models, honda..so I don't know what you're talking about.
Joe Wilson most have them on one or the other side... this is on both. Regardless it was just something I noticed and was my opinion so I’m not sure what your talking about
@@McarthurMotors wrong, rzr has same setup so does my canam maverick sport. One side air instake other is CVT. Been this way since xp900 s
No drive test?
How much the price
I’m not a Kawasaki guy, but I can appreciate when things are over built. Ya it’s a little heavy, but has a little extra power to compensate. Some of the interior components look a little cheap (knobs, placement of switches etc) but, I’d rather have a durable machine that isn’t going to leave me stranded or if something happens it’s easy to work on. Every one of my personal vehicles I keep tools in for minor repairs and it seems like Kawasaki has plenty of room for tools to be placed. Heck when I go out in my Jeep, I have 2 tool boxes, full sized jack and an electric impact strapped down in the back just in case something happens since it’s driven too and from the trails. Sure it’s overkill but why not be prepared?
Kawasaki for the win!
Imma be that guy.... The 4wd selectoar switch looks so cheap
I think the whole interior looks cheap. And im not sure why there is 5 cupholders...lol
