Great video! One thing to also consider is that the 6 speed DCT transmission on the Honda is much more efficient than any CVT, with a 95% power transfer from crank to rear wheel. The Average CVT loses 23% of it's power from crank to rear wheel, so the Honda's 104 HP will transfer to a higher rear wheel horsepower than the Kawasaki's 112 HP, then you can start considering the weight difference and the Honda definitely will be the faster more powerful machine. Also with it being more efficient, the Honda's 7+ gallon fuel tank may get you just as far as the Kawasaki's 10+ gallon fuel tank. We hope to see everyone stepping up their SXS game to keep this industry moving forward! Good job Kawasaki, but it's Ride Red for us!
Honda World I seen a drag race video between the KRX and a Talon somewhere (I can’t remember where) and the Talon actually beat the KRX! So I do believe the DCT makes a difference. Thanks for watching!
Honda is the only sxs manufacturer to offer 1yr warranty. That sums up a lot in my book, it's crazy considering where these things go after coming off the production line. Can am ain't got nothing on my 2020 talon x so I can only imagine where the green team stands.
Good video. Kawis are a reliable machine as well. Nice to see Honda bring their performance up. Their ATVs were generally sub par except they had "Honda reliability". Seems like they tuned their SxS to match it's potential.
I looked at a KRX and Talon today at a dealer that had both in the showroom. The KRX is definitely good looking and it's big. Yes the seats have very high density foam which contributes to the feeling of "sitting on" the seat compared to "sitting in" the seat. The Honda seats are a bit softer, not as soft as Maverick, and I feel more comfy in them compared to KRX. The KRX suspension and steering components appear to be beefier than the Talon which explains some of the big weight difference. It's apparent that the interior fit and finish of the KRX is not up to Talon standards and quite a bit lower than Maverick -- it appears similar in quality to Polaris and some of the Chinese brands. That being said, a lack of attention to details in the interior does not necessarily mean that the rest of the machine is not well finished or engineered. With Kawasaki's reliability and durability reputation, anyone who has it on their potential list of machines to buy should check it out in person and give it a test ride. Kawasaki would never release a production machine that hasn't been thoroughly tested (and thrashed). None of those OEM companies can afford to risk their reputation of product reliability by cutting corners on critical components, so we can thankfully be assured that whatever SXS we like, it will be fun and reliable, so long as it's not abused and is properly maintained.
I love my krx, the cvt seems to be working perfectly, I can punch it and it will throw dirt and leave ruts in the ground taking off and it will literally creep over rocks going up hill and down, I've had up to 65 with more to come and that's all I will ever need, I don't do sand dunes, I like the trails, since I got mine it seems like the sales of the krx have exploded, I see more and more of them all the time
I have a 2017 teryx and still have 8 months left on factory 3 year warranty. When krx raises the warranty ill buy one but id miss the sound of the v twin
What would be the point in muting it if I wanted to find out the differences between the two machines lol I didn't click on the video just to watch pointless video of them driving around. I was just pointing out it was funny
Here's my take. I truly like both machines but I'm not a huge belt fan. I've had 3 belt drive ATV's. Brute Force, Kingquad and Grizzy. King and Griz had nice CVT's. BF was so-so IMO. I've had lots of manual ATV's BTW. Anyway, recently I have bought a Honda Rubicon DCT and Honda Africa Twin DCT. Definitely a fan of the DCT although it is complex and hope to never have to mess it. What I don't care for in CVT's, and is magnified a bunch in the SxS, is the constant engine noise. CVT's always have the RPM up and when your just cruising around its annoying. My Hondas have always been quiet and I suspect the Talon is the same. I watched a video of guy who just bought a KRX and first thing I noticed was how constantly loud it is. Anyway, I like Kawa but likely would buy the Talon. Of course I've driven neither so take this for what its worth.
Mathew Hoopes we had a Foreman 500 and the engine noise was louder than the previous ones we’ve owned so we didn’t like that very much. The previous ones were quiet but we think this one was kind of a dud lol. I’m sure the DCT is more reliable than the CVT so I wouldn’t worry too much on having to work on it haha. The CVTs are simpler but would probably break easier. We haven’t had any belt issues from ours other than them slipping. The Talon gives out quite a bit of engine and transmission noise when you push that pedal down so I wouldn’t say it’s real quiet. But the preference is what matters. Thanks for watching!
Ronald L Edgerton thank you!! And a lot of people go for Honda just because of the transmission. Maybe the other manufacturers will learn from it. Thanks for watching!
Hey y'all, I sell both and I have to say that as a SxS enthusiast...Kawasaki has done it again. This machine is built like a tank and there's already a Turbo Kit that raises the bar on Two Seaters... Boosts power to 175 go and comes with a clutch kit and springs. Sorry all you Honda fans, but Team Green knocked it out of the park with this one.
My krx says it has 114hp but enough of that, I think the weight of the krx is what helps it be better on the gnarly stuff, I have no problems with my krx, the only thing I don't like about it is how noisy it is, I have to wear ear plugs or headphones

Looked at and sat in both today side by side. No comparison! Kawasaki is WAY better built and thought out. KRX feels MUCH better sitting in it and has MUCH more leg room. The Talon feels like it is made for migets compared to a Polaris and the KRX has even more legroom. If I was buying a new 1000NA machine today it would be the KRX, and I'm a Polaris guy.
Would love to see Kawasaki come out with a trail model. Something with less width would be a welcome addition. Have had both Honda and Kawasaki products both have been very reliable. IrishWariorKing I see your point of view. It is a lil pricey although it comes with a lot of extras from the factory. Hopefully it will drop later on. Thanks for watching!
Great comparison.......I'm in the market for a two seater, just trying to decide which one I want. I rode a Talon 1000R today, along with a rzr 1000 turbo, and I liked different things about each, but I'm not making a decision until I get my hands on the KRX, I really do like them!!!
I own a talon and wish it had the kawasaki suspension but I absolutely don't mind my talon, I love everything other than that and the extra room in the kawi. rode in two kawis and i can say soft and loud. If you did bot hear that really loud I hated the ride cause I could not hear the person next to me and it was stock.
I agree, the Kawi has a good ride and is built like a tank but are extremely loud in cab! You can’t go wrong with a Talon, we have/had several and basically no issues. Thanks for watching
Team Honda over here! Cause when boils down to nitty gritty...Honda gone outlive them all!!!! I’ll still be riding in my Honda when the zombie apocalypse hits
john kraft I would love to drive a Talon with a turbo kit in it. I haven’t gotten the chance just yet. I say it’d really give it the pep. Thanks for watching!
A lot of people don’t understand the difference between the belt system on the Kawasaki and Yamaha models vs Polaris and can am. The Japanese companies incorporate a hydraulic clutch in addition to the cvt system. This system keeps constant tension on the belt and never allows it to slip. Much longer belt life. Poop and CA use a tension method on their belt where the belt tension loosens and the clutch spins without engaging the belt. Once there is enough force the belt catches and starts spinning. Clutches sliding on belts is never a good thing, destroys them in short order.
Yamaha and Kawasaki both use a hydraulic clutch. They are the best cvt's in the business. Yamaha puts their money where their mouth is, 10 year warranty.
can we get a roll bar crash test review on these two units. a buddy had a talon x and rolled front over back and the roll bar seemed paper thin im digging the krx as i had the opportunity to sit in one over the past weekend cabin room is definitely 2-1 vs the talon having the gauges right in front of you is an added bonus as well. honda has my heart through and through but im considering kawi all because of the roll bar and safety components
Hahaha, don’t know if we could crash these babies on purpose they’re quite the jewels. We do have a buddy that’s had his Talon on his side but no major rolls. His wasn’t hurt at all.
You’re reading the torque number for the Kawasaki of 78.4. RWH is much higher than the Honda at peak but even greater on average thanks to the bulletproof CVT that keeps the HP at the rear wheels higher and longer. Geared transmissions have a much lower average power output with peaky dyno graphs.
Just a note, maybe next time don't shoot video clips of the green Honda Talon when doing a comparison video to a Kawi. Got a little confusing sometimes when I would see a green interior when you were talking and then giving stats about the Talon. Threw me off a couple times because I thought I was looking at pictures of a Kawi, but it turned out to be the Talon once I heard you say it
TEAM GREEN it is a much nicer looking machine number one they don't give you the half doors and give you full doors more room in the cab bigger tires it just looks beefier than the Honda
Team Wax Offroad That would definitely be interesting, as they make things slightly differently, more automotive, like Honda - but The Suzuki Way!! Cheers;)
I've road everything except a cow and they were all decent but I've had more Honda's and the reliability is always there I think over the 45 years I've road honda has more than proven itself
Chris Baumgarten that is true. For dunes you would have to really beef these rides up. When they’re stock you can forget the dunes. Thanks for watching!
@@TeamWaxOffroad totally disagree with you I'm from the West Coast they both have plenty of power and the Kawasaki has plenty of travel don't know what you're talkin about as far as that goes if you want more power they already have a turbo for that krx I'll take that over a Can-Am or a Polaris that breaks down all the time you obviously did not take a look at the design of the frame the size of the axles and a arms on the krx
@@robw3761 Our Can Am's NEVER break down. we have 2 X-3's and a new 1000 R sport. Spent 5 days at Dumont and now headed to sand Hollow. Spent 3 weeks in the Black Hills this summer. The KRX is almost 2000 lbs and is HUGE! It has no record yet so we don't know if it will be reliable or not. Reliability is EARNED, not a given. Look at the disaster Textron WildcatX and what a piece that turned out to be.
I understand its not as quick off the line as the rest. And i saw a video where from a rolling start it did accelerate as fast as the talon. I wish someone would race the krx against smaller machines. Like a teryx or wolverine. I think most people are coming up from those style machines instead of over from another 1000. So my question is, is the power boring.
All depends on what you are doing, I don't do the sand dunes or anything that requires a need for speed, I do trails, mountains of Co or moab, barnwell mountain in Gilmer tx is a great place, if I hit 50 on a winding trail thru the trees I'm having a freakin blast and an adrenaline rush from hell and I'm very happy with that and the krx, it has more room in cab than the talon for me, I sat in all of the different ones and krx was it
I noticed you giving specification of both X and R tallons. I do like the KRX rims but your power to weight ratio is not so good. But how often do you need all she has. I have to wonder, will she flick around corners being heavy?
Sam Krieger I only gave specifications for the R except for when they were both the same. And you’re right the power to weight ratio on the KRX is a lot less than it’s competitors. We actually haven’t drove the KRX yet but we do believe it may be harder to flick it around turns being that heavy and with less HP to go with it. We think you’d need to pour on it a little more to get that weight moving faster.
Another thing to add is why weren’t the built in snorkels mentioned
Barricade Powell sorry about that :/ thanks for letting us know and thanks for watching!
They also didn't mention that there's already a Turbo Kit that boosts the hp to 175...

Team Green for me yeeh! I do wish the price point was a bit lower 💪💪💪
IrishWariorKing I see your point of view. It is a lil pricey although it comes with a lot of extras from the factory. Hopefully it will drop later on. Thanks for watching!
They are both awesome machines, but the real question is which one is the most reliable long term? Thanks for the vid
we shall find that out in time, thanks!
Kawasaki of course
Great comparison.......I'm in the market for a two seater, just trying to decide which one I want. I rode a Talon 1000R today, along with a rzr 1000 turbo, and I liked different things about each, but I'm not making a decision until I get my hands on the KRX, I really do like them!!!
don’t blame you i’d try my options out before doing anything
green, red, blue. its all good.
Doodle Bug ain’t that the truth haha! Thanks for watching!
Ride Reen haha I like both. ❤️💚
Wheelin Dylan a little bit of both suits everyone well haha!
Can’t really go wrong with either brand
All that leg room in floor of the can am is for your toolbag ,for all that wrench spinning your going to be doing😀
Isuzu Guru LOL if that’s how you wanna look at it! Thanks for watching!
Or so they can accommodate larger people but, perhaps you're right.
💚TEAM GREEN💚
C Clemons you know it
I own a talon and wish it had the kawasaki suspension but I absolutely don't mind my talon, I love everything other than that and the extra room in the kawi. rode in two kawis and i can say soft and loud.
Yah I’m a Red R...but much respect to the Green Talon R’s too😂🤣😂
Cool for Kawi to answer the call👍
cheray across heck yeah it’s awesome to see Kawi stepping in. Nothing wrong with a Honda!
Team Green! Always
Yessir!
Team Honda over here! Cause when boils down to nitty gritty...Honda gone outlive them all!!!!
I’ll still be riding in my Honda when the zombie apocalypse hits
J_RodDaBoss225 Lol Can not argue with that one. 👍🏻
Haha! I still see Honda atc 110's out riding! Cant kill them!
@@TeamWaxOffroad Time will tell. Longevity is earned, not given, at least in my world.
Why cant kawi fix the spring issue? They afraid it will hurt the ride?
Team red by far!!!!
Eric Nalley nothing wrong with a good ole Honda! Thanks for watching!
Ride RED or keep it in the shed. Nothing will ever beat a Honda.
Dakota Compton yeah Honda got its name for its reliability! Thanks for watching!
I built Rubberband powered wooden cars in junior high 25 years ago.. looks like there still building Rubberband powered cars
wwcalibercleaningcom belts have their ups and downs for sure. Just like anything else. Thanks for watching!
Good info Lando. I think I like the Honda better but it's good to see new sport machines coming out.
Darren Green Agree with that! New machines is good. Thanks for watching Darren
Dual clutch transmission is the only way to go. I would add the turbo kit to Honda.
john kraft I would love to drive a Talon with a turbo kit in it. I haven’t gotten the chance just yet. I say it’d really give it the pep. Thanks for watching!
DCT over rubber band all day👍🏽👍🏽
Jerry Carter nothing wrong with that! Thanks for watching!
if you like goin slow...
I like this channel good job kid
It seems like if you slap a turbo kit on the Kawi then you have the perfect machine to me.
That would be interesting
Nice video lando👍
Jambo TeamWax thank ya! Maybe we will get to ride one real soon!
kawa all the way !! ;-) ...a green honda!? wtf..;- ()
Izom yeah Ride Reen haha! Kawasaki’s a good brand! Thanks for watching!
Team green
Wyatt Craig nothing wrong with that! Thanks for watching!
belts suck unless you are into changing them, babying them, buying them often. They are good for the dealers and manufacturers though.
Dean Friesen yes I see where you’re coming from.
Yamaha puts their money where their mouth is, 10 year warranty.
shit i might actually have to go with the Kawasaki
i have a rzr but im digging what Kawasaki came up with
Hey, they're definitely bad (awesome) machines!
can we get a roll bar crash test review on these two units. a buddy had a talon x and rolled front over back and the roll bar seemed paper thin im digging the krx as i had the opportunity to sit in one over the past weekend cabin room is definitely 2-1 vs the talon having the gauges right in front of you is an added bonus as well. honda has my heart through and through but im considering kawi all because of the roll bar and safety components
Hahaha, don’t know if we could crash these babies on purpose they’re quite the jewels. We do have a buddy that’s had his Talon on his side but no major rolls. His wasn’t hurt at all.
@@TeamWaxOffroad yeah i definitely wouldn't blow 40k just to see how tough a roll bar is.
Approximately 78.4 RWH 1900# I will stick with the Honda at Approximately 88.4 RWH 1545# I do love the looks of the KRX though
Arizona Picker Ride Red. Thanks ya for watching!
@@jamesgriffith3727 I beleave the RWH on the honda is 74.4 in four wheel drive actually a little less in two wheel weird to see that
I’m all in for RED....... Sorry 😐but that green is pretty
Stacie’s Country Cooking nothing wrong with ole Honda! They’re both pretty haha!
Just a note, maybe next time don't shoot video clips of the green Honda Talon when doing a comparison video to a Kawi. Got a little confusing sometimes when I would see a green interior when you were talking and then giving stats about the Talon. Threw me off a couple times because I thought I was looking at pictures of a Kawi, but it turned out to be the Talon once I heard you say it
Michael Wolbert yeah I realized that after the video was up lol! Sorry about that but thanks for watching!
Team Wax Offroad Whats Honda doing making a green Talon anyway...?
LittleMan.TeamWaxOffRoad I don’t know you tell me lol
TEAM GREEN FOREVER!!!
Eric Pfaff nothing wrong with Kawasaki. Thanks for watching!
TEAM GREEN it is a much nicer looking machine number one they don't give you the half doors and give you full doors more room in the cab bigger tires it just looks beefier than the Honda
Rob W yes it is a lot bigger and beefier. I believe most of the weight comes with it being built tougher.
Team Green but sure wish Kawi kept their great warranty like on the Pro FXT!
Travis Carden agreed. Maybe that will change in the future. Thanks for watching!
You didn’t state the Honda only has 28 inche tires
Woodard Kingsbury sorry bout that. Wasn’t sure if it was relevant or not. But thanks for watching!!
Ride RED!!
Willie-Joe Camara heck yeah! Thanks for watching!
Next level video
Thanks man!
Team green all the way
oh yeah!
Team Yellow All the Way !
Suzuki SXS where are you??? ;)
photoheritage I know!! I look for them to come out with something before long. Thanks for watching!
Team Wax Offroad That would definitely be interesting, as they make things slightly differently, more automotive, like Honda - but The Suzuki Way!! Cheers;)
team green!!!!!
israel bennett We like it! Thanks for watching
I've road everything except a cow and they were all decent but I've had more Honda's and the reliability is always there I think over the 45 years I've road honda has more than proven itself
A cow can be pretty reliable too haha! But that’s how Honda got their reputation, their reliability.
GREEN!!!
Stock C6Zo6 That’s right. Thanks for watching
Both machines are decent for putting around. For serious dunes or open desert, they are both underpowered and not enough travel. Too conservative.
Rob W sorry about that. I knew turbo kits would help and the extras. I just thought you’d need a bigger HP to weight ratio for the dunes
@@TeamWaxOffroad no need to be sorry a friend of mine went out there and did the dealer testing in California and he said that thing rocks
0-60 would be nice to see the comparison on.
I just want a Kawasaki with the power of the x3 rr and the transmission of the honda. But a guy can only dream lol
Exactly!! Lol
Team red for me
Gert De Lange ole Honda is known for reliability. Thanks for watching!
All depends on what you are doing, I don't do the sand dunes or anything that requires a need for speed, I do trails, mountains of Co or moab, barnwell mountain in Gilmer tx is a great place, if I hit 50 on a winding trail thru the trees I'm having a freakin blast and an adrenaline rush from hell and I'm very happy with that and the krx, it has more room in cab than the talon for me, I sat in all of the different ones and krx was it
if the kawi had a 4 door and a turbo it would be the best on the market
Possibly
RIDE red dependability of the Honda made my decision. I've owned green in the past and was never happy with them at all as far ATV
honda has earned that name of reliability lol
To me the yxz is the best choice
fuzzy176 whatever you prefer works the best. Thanks for watching!
Man that Kawasaki looks mean I’d take that but I’m a 2 wheeler
rvrbarnacle79 I hear yah haha. Thanks for watching!
Because u cant afford a sxs
Say no to belts! Team red with 32s
You figured it out lol!
Good video
Robert Keime thank ya and thanks for watching!
Team RED!!!!!!
Yessir!
Team green💚💚
Lawrence Menez Green means Go! Thanks for watching!!
Do a comparison with the xx More hp built stronger more cab room better suspension etc
david payce thank you for the suggestion. We will look into it. Thanks for watching!
Are you talking about the cat, if so several CZcamsrs have reported it as junk during use.
