Carbon Public Market, Cebu City, Philippines - the oldest and largest market in the city. This market is also one of the tourist destinations in Cebu. Most everything is sold here such as various meat, vegetables, fruits, fish, souvenirs, handicrafts and many more. It is situated in the downtown area not far from Barangay Pasil. Everything is sold in much cheaper price compared to malls especially if you're planning to buy wholesale.

Our family live in Cabantan st., Mabolo back then where I spent most my childhood. I attend USP in primary and secondary at USP LAHUG. Mother went to Carbon market for re-supply and bought merchandise. My father was seaman employed by Gothong and Sulpicio Lines. He purchased the ships vegetables, meat and other products in bulk from suki stalls with discounts in carbon for the ships crew and passengers. As kid carbon is where people of the city converged to find foodstuffs at lower prices. Its equivalent to Divisoria in Manila. In 1976 my parents moved to Leyte for new life after father retired from being seaman in 1975. In 1983 I entered the AFP/PNP service and retired in 2016 after almost 34 years. My patriotic duty ended and my marriage was destroyed, and alienated me from my 3 kids arising from long and extended assignment to far away lands across the country from places of Luzon, NCR, Samar Leyte, and BASULTA to last frontier islands of Sitangkay, mainland Mindanao, Mamasapano included. Now parents are gone without me bidding goodbye, and when my services are needed by them at last moment upon death. I'm separated and alone. Twilight Zone is dead straight full steam ahead to face final judgment before God upon death. Life is just passing-by my friends. I hope to return to where I was born in Cebu to treasure moments for the last time. Carbon Market is among the places of childhood.
