Nintendo knows so much how to do compression, like the DS WAS SO COOL GOOD, SAME WITH Wii, GAMECUBE AND Wii U!, Nintendo researched and found the best way to compress files into the best archives.
I'm just hoping they deliver with the games (Metroid, 3D Mario, Zelda, all the classics) and make them look great in a 4K console
The one thing I’m most concerned about is the name. Everyone’s calling it “Nintendo Switch 2!” or “The Switch 2!” but I really hope that’s not the case; something like The Nintendo Switch-Up could be nice, even if a bit corny
I feel like being more straight forward would help with less confusing, like the Wii U had a bad title AND bad Marketing I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo played it more safe to avoid that
Entirely fair, I haven’t been keeping up with most of the sources so I’m not sure if they’re calling it Switch 2 to keep it secretive (or if it’s just gonna be the Switch 2 like you said) or if it’s gonna have a different name

Games are huge in file size nowadays cause developers are lazy as fuck, specifically western studios. A 3-hour FPS done by a western studio somehow takes up 186GB while a 30-hour RPG from a Japanese studio is 36GB. Unoptimized assets with 3x as many quads as they need, 4k textures that's just a single color and hundreds of boilerplate code and assets from using pre-existing game engines like Unreal. It shouldn't be up to the consumers to continuously upgrade their storage because AAA developers can't be bothered to do an efficient job.
I agree, the faster storage shouldn't mean no optimization, it should be bigger scope and pushing the limits of what games can do

I honestly hope it's not too powerful for price reasons. I don't care for games to have more detail better than the likes of Mario Odyssey, Pikmin 4, or Xenoblade Chronicles 3 outside of making the fuzzy pixels less noticeable and better render distance.

ya my second cam was the iphone 15 pro but I've come to learn it's not good in low light at all I tried my best

It's been 7 years since the switch released and even when it was released it was severely behind in terms of power and what it can do

@@masterg2574 I think it’s more so on the developer side. The hardware is older than the switch itself almost 3 generations behind c developers cannot port PS5 and Series X games to this hard ware because it does not have the same features and overall power. If there’s not a new system that can handle those games then there won’t be 3rd party support
@@ThatGuyWhoGames that's true but that's also up to the game developers as well. (In the way of how much they can optimize the game)
I don't see the importance of having anything more than HD and ps4 power. 4k isn't even noticable to me when compared to a normal resolution and the only thing that's changed between ps4 and ps5 is that characters have more pores and the game has a 700× bigger file size.

A handheld with the power of a PS5 in the year of 2024 is just a fancy way to say "A brick with an umbilical cord." Have fun using your "portable" console 5 ft away from the wall when it dies in 45 minutes. PS4 level performance sounds exciting, but gamers don't have the braincells to understand why handhelds are nerfed in performance. Then again, looking at the majority of PC handhelds and gaming laptops shows that they probably don't care

I’ve been listening to a podcast and they talked about how we are getting so many new titles to the switch like Mario wonder tears of the kingdom. Why would they release big names right before a consoles life cycle? Most likely because it will be backwards compatible and still use the cartridges soooo that’s my theory, if so that I’m most likely not being the next console since I’ve only begun on my switch console for a year.

8:34 The Switch is a MORE POWERFUL PS3. Look at Borderlands trilogy on that system vs. Switch... It's a no contest who looks better. Also back in 2017 the graphics of the switch for portable gaming were pretty alright, not bad. It had good control schemes and controls. To me I don't care about GRAPHICS one bit. I have the Steam Deck, I have the Psvita, and Switch. I have no reason to play games on PS4 DURING ITS STARTING YEARS IN 2014!!! I always thought the PS4 was underpowered, the switch gets a pass for portablity, the PSVita was unique as there are games you can find on that system, but no where else or they are a lesser version of that version. Like RayMan Legends on Switch isn't as good as the Vita version. T_T The Switch may have the " pay2multiplayer" crap going on with it which turned me away from PS4 and every console now, but when I do buy games for Switch it's due to 1. DRM bs on the PC version or 2. Exclusive games.

No, just let sony kick the bucket, have its tombstone urinated all over, and maybe a steaming dump. As that company has been trash since the launch of PS4. 2016 When they had their HQ in California instead of Japan is when well the real trouble began. I hope Sony fails as they don't know momentum and also PS4 had no reason to buy it over a nicer PC. It was a common joke to mock the PS4 for 1. Mid-tier PC 2. MID-TIER PC, 3. Pay2Multiplayer subscription.
Subscriptions are a plague and blight on humanity. I don't like the Switch's subscription infact I have been playing on it for a year and had no desire to buy switch online as I am not going to waste 30 dollars to use a feature on some games.
i would disagree with the argument that most people use the switch in portable mode. spawnwave did a pole not to long ago and it was about 50/50, docked marginally beat portable, so i think that a lot people do enjoy the switch as a home console but with the added functionality of being able to take it with them on holiday, for example, so i do think the graphics and general performance is something a lot of people would like to see have a sizeable jump. however, i do also think that if the next switch is comparable to the ps4 it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but i would admit i would hope to see it be closer to the series S if not xbox one x level of performance
The only interest I've had in upgrading from a PS4 to a PS5 is to have a better running disk drive. But the size of the console and exclusive titles don't appeal to me, and even the Slim model makes me have to compromise where it'll rest near my TV.
There's more I could write but I agree with most of what you said especially about Nintendo focusing gameplay over hardware specs for decades. Console or handheld.
The Switch was a big jump in the wrong direction. It sold really well, but it's also a gigantic step back from Nintendo's previous generation. In terms of emulation, you can already play the majority of the Switch library on a $200 Chinese device with absolutely not compromise in terms of user input. The switch is basically just an XBox controller with a seldomly used touchscreen. Compare that to the Wii, the Wii-U and the NDS and 3DS. Everything uses the XBox controller these days and has since the XBox/PS2 days, so any third party device will have those controls. Last year, we got devices that could run 3DS games through emulation. This year is the Switch. We still don't have decent Wii-U emulation, and part of that is because of the uniqueness of the hardware. Even though we have solid 3DS emulation, you're still compromising because of the dual screen thing. To this day, the only way to decently experience the NDS/3DS is an NDS/3DS. That's because there's absolutely nothing out there that compared to them.
If Nintendo just does a Switch 2, and Sony gets back in to the hand held market, Nintendo is screwed.
is 3ds emulation really solid tho? it seems like you need a monsterly expensive computer to even get games to run without flaws where i dont really have to do that with things like Dolphin, DS emulation has quirks oo of microphone stuff and how thats quite a headache to set up and get working. I don't disagree with your point im just trying to understand where you are coming ffrom cus idk if i get what you're saying
@@Keeby219 A $200 Retroid Pocket 4 Pro can do 3DS using Citra without an issue. The Retroid Pocket 2S before the 4 Pro was released didn't have much issue with the 3DS emulation either. It also does Switch pretty well despite using an emulator designed for a different chipset. It uses Mali and Yuzu was designed for Snapdragon.
Also, both of those consoles have microphones but neither of them have two screens which hampers the experience for 3DS games. However, they do have all the hardware the Switch has in terms of human interface, touchscreen, analog joysticks and triggers, all the buttons, and even gyroscope. The only thing holding them back right now is Yuzu, and those guys are updating regularly.
My 4th Generation i7 has no issues running Citra either, double scaling.
@@anotherthing thats cool but when i tried emulating ds games mic stuff held me back and the emoulator wouldnt even detect my mic so i just stopped playing it. My pc is also too weak to perfectly run 3ds and i dont have the money to build a pc or buy a new one so im just better off using my actualy 3ds and probably modding it
Never heard of that $200 device but neat can it possibe emulate PS3 since ok ps3 emulation is still in its infancy
@@anotherthing Yeah it's crazy how fast the switch could be emulated on OTHER portable devices, it makes the switch feel a bit more obsolete so early in it's life but the average consumer wouldn't go about figuring that out due to convivence. Would love to explore the world of switch emulation one day
@@ThatGuyWhoGames A lot of it has to do with the hardware of the Switch. Compared to the 3DS, the Switch is dirt simple. Sure, the Switch is faster, but there's also less stuff to emulate. You really don't even have to emulate the touchscreen on the Switch thanks to the docking aspect of it. The only thing holding back Switch emulation is the infancy of the emulators. The hardware to do it is there and in people's hands right now, handhelds, phones, and computers can all perform well enough to do it and there's bluetooth controllers that match the Switch controller completely since Nintendo didn't bother to do anything special.
We're further along with Switch emulation than we are with the Wii-U. Dolphin can do Wii, but you either need to buy a DolphinBar and WiiMotes to get the most out of it or you're not going to get the full experience.
