Some people got it early but that's not to say they didn't really test it. Mine is sitting on a shotgun waiting to get messed up.

They’ve had to come out with more major “fixes” than any other gun maker. I think they even do customer based beta testing in their “fixes”. Oh well. We’ll see if my Walther’s do any better.
Far too many companies do this now. My S&W M&P 10mm is junk. Constant failure to feed or eject issues with dozens of different 10mm ammo. I'm pretty sure the magazines are bad. I need new magazines but Washington State now has a 10 round magazine ban so I can't get new mags. I purchased it over a year ago and I still can't find 10 round 10mm mags.
@@KPHVAC Dang! That sucks all the way around. My son in law has an M&P 2.0 optic ready compact in 9mm and it!s a great little gun. I guess they failed on the 10mm. Honestly, that’s not the first time I’ve heard that unfortunately. And this 10 round mag capacity ban is so stupid, it!s maddening! Isn’t it. They just pick a random number with no logic or reasoning and just hurt regular folks like us. Like a criminal is going to say “Well, I can’t have more than a 10 round mag and I have to take the switch off my Glock now.” Makes no sense. The government is just trying to slowly work towards an all out firearms ban. Although it’s a great time for firearms with so many choices, it’s also bad in the way because the manufacturers are trying to keep up with the demand since there are so many new shooters and firearms owners that I think the term to let some bad designs slip through the cracks. Man! I sure went off the rails with my response! 😂
I did a couple of reviews on Olight back in 2019. Although the ones I reviewed worked well, I've since learned not to waste my time due to their QC.

I've done a few reviews for their lights only. I will say on their lights I like the rechargeable batteries and thats about it. For optics I've reviewed for my side hustle ZeroTech has been super accommodating, Australian company that I enjoy. I cringe when I get O Lights to review

The reason why campfire smoke does that, is when the wind is blowing around you, it creates a low pressure zone that the smoke immediately wants to go to.
So no matter what you do, that's why it seems to follow you. Helps if you have more than one person there.

Nah its because the heat from the fire heats you and your clothes up and also the air between you and the fire which rises and that rising air is replaced by the smokey air from the fire. I aint good at explaining but I gave it my best shot lol

Yea my video started out with me being like “oh man this is great” and then it shifted HUGE. Big bummer; I actually do like a few of their pistol lights and gave those an overall positive review because they took my beatings. I even have their LEP on my 8.6 blackout right now. If a product sucks, it’s sucks. Major Props for calling it out; videos like this are such a waste of our time but they need to be made none the less.

Yeah, Olight sent me the Valkyre 3 and then sent me a list of like 30 guns they wanted me to put it on and then send them pics of em all. With NO Compensation other than the $70 light. I told them to F off.

I just found your channel and I like the honesty you have about the products you review. I literally have knocked my Glock 49 off the shelf in my safe, not on purpose and the holoson hit hard on the metal edge of the door opening directly on the top of the sight and other than my pride it cracked the plastic part over the solar filaments. I took it to the range the next day to see if it was still on zero and it was still on target without an issue. The lens didn’t crack or anything else.

The two holosuns I tried had similar issues. One drained batteries, they sent me another one and it wouldn't hold zero. No more holosun pistol sights for me.
I do have a couple holosun red dots that have functioned nearly perfect on rifles however
My complaint besides the obvious is the proprietary rechargeable batter. Rechargeable batteries do NOT have infinite recharges. I want to be able to swap out batteries when it dies instead of waiting for it to charge when the battery runs out. I'd like to see a Dual Fuel in the next version.

What are your thoughts on using a dovetail adapter on a pistol that isn’t cut for optics? Is it good enough to try out optics but have it milled asap or would you carry with it?

That was the funniest Olight review I've ever seen! Well done. I looked at the OSight and was initially tempted. Then I realized that the rechargeable battery meant it wasn't going to be replaceable. Wear out your battery, chuck it in the garbage. Now I hear it breaks, and doesn't hold zero. Wow. What a disaster for Olight. Thanks for being one of the honest ones.
the reason the smoke follows you around a camp fire is because hot air rises and since there is not more air coming from behind you to replace it you create a vacuum and the flow of air leans towards you. so if you put something that blocks the same amount of air directly across from you the smoke will stop blowing in your face! i just thought it was cool and might be useful. awesome video!

I have similar problem when i bbq. I use real wood, like a camp fire. Then when getting into bed at night my wife is trying to get to the bbq! Be careful and enjoy!

Another thing OW does well is he will tell you what's good about it. Noticed the same things I did. As is common with olight, they have innovative ideas, but their execution in bringing it to market is . . . haphazard, to say the least. Props where they're due. Most people, if they want to like something bad enough, they'll talk themselves into a pretzel trying to excuse all of the flaws.
I think we create an area of lower pressure, so the smoke will always go towards you if you’re by the fire and there is no wind

I agree, I give Olight props on the hood charger, thats a really great innovative feature. Maybe the other rebuttal companies can go with an option similar and really streamline it on a much better optic. Now the only thing better would for it to still have a consumer serviceable battery back just in case the cell goes bad. I’ll be sticking with my Trijicons. Appreciate the video Overton!

Smoke wise, you are sitting close to the fire and the fire is pulling in cold air from all around and the heat is going up and out. When you block the cold air (like we do when we sit around a fire) the smoke goes to where the air is blocked the most.
Damn that was a fast overton lol. But as soon as i woke up this morning and saw the ads i just shook my head and said to myself “some poor schmuck is gonna buy that shit thinking its gonna be reliable because of CZcamsrs”.

I have a couple olight lights. Don't really trust them for much though. One was killed by the mighty recoil of the 5.7. They replaced it free of charge, but... yeah lol. They're mostly just stand ins for the other lights I have when I'm too lazy to rotate the good ones around.

I carry an olight keychain flashlight becuase Olight gave them away for $5 shipping a couple months ago. thats the only olight product I own, and I dont think I'll ever own another one unless they make massive improvements. I was really hoping this would be good as it looked like a 507 comp for way cheaper, but I knew it would suck.
Damn it dude, I work on guns by my bonfire all the time (live in the smokies) and not once have I thought to use that setting for a video. With the exception of a cocaine bear intro, in which, no fire was lit lol

Too bad their sights are weak. I have an o-light gun light and it's stood the test of thousands of rounds and drops, bumps, smacks, etc.

I decided to give this optic a shot on my Canik TP9 sfx Whiteout, as a civilian that only shoots at a range, it's held zero for me for 2 weeks now. I'm not doing any torture test though, as I actually pay for my optics. Would I put this on my CCW? or my main gun that I would use for home defense? I wouldn't. But for 2 range days, roughly 100-200 rounds, it's held zero for me and indoors, it seems to work well. Just throwing it out there.

Got around 400 rounds through the red dot and about 200 through the green. Dot hadnt moved a bit. When you dropped the optic was it on the gun? As with literally everything, people are goin to have different experiences. Mines been nothing but positive SO FAR.

Sage dynamics dropped an SRO and it completely shattered. I think that’s kind of what you get with thinner bezels and larger glass. Not holding zero is another problem though.

Hell, I paid money to get one as an early tester. It looked good on paper, but looking at it and using it I agree pretty well. The only thing I'd consider using it for would be competition where my life isn't on the line. But I wouldn't use this for home defense, carry, or duty.

Thank you so much for giving an honest review. I tried this optic at the Primary Arms Range Day, I shot a pistol and a Vector with it. The distortion in the glass was extremely noticable on the outer parts of the glass. The vector wasn't sighted in, but more than likely it lost zero throughout the day. I was very disappointed, especially when I saw the price tag. When I shot it, I expected it to be a sub $100 optic. But no, of course it's $200. A Vortex Viper is a much better deal than this garbage.

Man that sucks. I really liked the look of it for the big window and the battery charger.
In order to keep the smoke from being drawn towards you. Sit farther away from the fire. People sometimes say "it's like I'm a magnet" you literally are. That's exactly how that works. You're blocking the airflow on one side. That becomes the place for smoke to escape, instead of going up.
Can you please tell me more about life, the birds and bees, etc atop a beautiful mountain with picturesque peaks in the background, please?
Ok interesting, I’ve ordered one. It hasn’t arrived yet, I liked its features and unlike many on here I’ve been buying olight flashlights for years and they been great. So my use is going to be on my 1301 competition shotgun. Most weekends I typically fire , 150 bird, 40-50 buck and 40-50 slug. So I’ll zero it with slugs and put 150 bird through then check zero with slug again.

Love their pocket lights and their knives to open boxes at work. That's about it.
I EDC an olight arkfeld (the laser is nice for pointing things out to my smoothbrained apprentices) and the wireless charging works great, until it doesn't. I'm going to buy my 3rd soon but I absolutely would not trust any of their products to function in a life or death situation
I have two Sofirn flashlights (way less expensive than Olight) that came with 18650 batteries that are awesome. I'm not sure what batteries they are, as they are rewrapped with the Sofirn logo. The lights themselves (1 rechargeable from the light and one not) I've had and used for 4 and 5 years now. Both are still perfectly fine. No flickering/strobe issue some lights have.
My point is, neither light was over $50 (with a battery each). Well built, bright, good throw (Sofirn often has the same light but different model letter for more flood or more throw). Why can't Olight do this? They have to be making way more money than Sofirn. I understand a red dot is a different animal, but the technology around better dots is out there.
Personally, for lights in the price category Olight is in, I go with Streamlight. My only real complaint with Sofirn is most of their lights don't have momentary on/off.
