Dumb analogy. A gun should fit and point naturally when handled. If the guns grip angle requires you to unnaturally change how you hold the gun to get the sights in alignment, look for another gun. Sure you can learn to shoot it but you'll likely never shoot your best with it.

First gun I ever shot was a Beretta, decent grouping maybe 3-5", thought it was a cool gun. First gun I bought was the Glock 43x, bunch of my coworkers gave me shit for it. I went to the range with them, tried their pistols(Sig, S/W) and thought they were cool in their own rights. I didn't give them any flak for their choices, its a tool and by god that tool has served me well since I bought it. I'd rather focus on being a better shooter with any gun then thinking that some gun is miles ahead of another because of branding and whatever little bullshit differences come out of the box.

I will say, when doing competitions, having a good trigger matters. I notice a big difference in my number of A-zone hit with my Canik as compared to my glock. But... I still hit the target. The time is probably a little slower. But I also admit I am still terrible. I've only shot in a few competitions, I only started going to the range regularly not even a year ago. I still sometimes find myself jerking the trigger or flinching (though, I've gotten rid of most of that!)
But honestly, if you are defending yourself, you are dumping at least 10 rounds into someone. I don't think anyone is gonna say "Ah, 7 Alphas, 3 Charlies, bad job." Honestly, for a carry pistol, I just look if it has the option for a light and make sure I practice. I think those are most of the requirements of a carry gun.

The slide is where most of the issues are. The burrs and areas where they save time in manufacturing and QC are what makes the Dagger less reliable.
It’s about the step overs left when going from one Endmill to another and some areas that need a second pass to clear out where the tool flexes under load while cutting tight corners.
Look for wear marks on the polymer and on the slide and rails.

If you want to argue that you have used glock so long you prefer it's feel to anything else, I believe that too. If you want to argue the aftermarket custom options and magazine availability and reliability of the glock, for sure. But then don't go on to compare systems and pretend the otb glock trigger is any less obsolete than the 1911. It's a crap trigger, and that's why you replaced it.

@@OvertonWindex I assume I just need to keep shooting. The 43x has been my first personal pistol, and I haven't shot more than 50 or 60 rounds with it.
My friend who goes to the range with me let me use his SAA .45 replica, and I felt like I was more accurate with it than with the Glock, but that could have been a fluke or luck.
Anyhow, I figure shooting many boolits at target is what I need to do
Thanks for the information(I watched your zeroing video before zeroing my AK)

Exactly what I think these days. I don’t even mess with the trigger in my PRS gun because I shoot my old 788 probably better. It’s all about shooting the damn thing.

Weight, size, caliber, capacity, price. Those should be the only things you care about IMO. I'm not a Glock owner but they do most of those things right.

  • @Shatteredlightunderfadingstars

I keep guns in the most common calibers in the most common styles in my area. Just in case. Thankfully, I can still count that number on one hand. I love my 1911, but shtf, I'm switching to either the sig, beretta, or the glock. You just cant compete against a double stack. Its not fucking possible.

Gun people complain more than an unhappy wife. Any modern trigger, be it striker or hammer, is going to be good.

Triggers tend to be subjective more than objective from what I see. I never understood the hate for Glock triggers, especially a Gen 5. I have the first Glock 19 also that I came across for $200 in great shape. That trigger has miles on it and it’s nice and broken in and it’s smooth as could be.
There’s things you can dislike about the Glock , never understood the hate for the trigger though of all things. It’s simple and direct, it’s got a very strong wall and the reset is fine. I personally love the weight of the trigger. It gets the job done just fine . The new M&P 2.0 flat faced triggers look and feel better but I have to admit I think I prefer the break and reset on my Glocks.
Moral of the story, find what feels best and shoots best for you and roll with it. Just because it feels good doesn’t mean you’ll personally shoot better with it either. If you’re new , feel some different handguns that peak your interest. Find a good range or a good friend with a collection and find what shoots well in your hands and then master your craft and become the best you can be with it .

People who go on and on and on about triggers are such fucking marks “have you felt the trigger in this” OR “yeah but the trigger on that sucks” like have you ever used an issued weapon? It’s been abused to fuck but the trigger still works

This is a question of elementary problem solving.
Figure out what needs to get done. Find the tool best suited to how you get the job done. Get good with it. Keep track of things so you can make adjustments when necessary. Keep an open mind so you don't miss the opportunity find a better way to get the job done.
    It isn't rocket surgery.

MP 2.0 with an Apex trigger is about as good as striker fired gets. I tried different stuff in my Glocks out of curiosity and it was all same but different…I think the biggest thing for me is shooting weekly and practicing useful stuff, but no one wants to hear that. They want to sit on their couches and finger fuck the trigger on a gun that has 50 rounds through it and form an opinion.

    Who fuckin cares about triggers
Hey guys let’s do a trigger ranking!
    😂😂 jfwy
I got one of the Glock performance triggers when they dropped and the Johnny Glocks vex shoe for it. I slapped it all into my g45 and it’s fucking awesome ,all that money later and I’m still dog shit with a pistol. I’ve finally made the decision to start training with my pistol and see if maybe that helps.

It's just so that you don't buy trash. You can be an expert when it comes to glocks but as soon as it gets stuck with its the poors pistol or its just cheap. Your brain suddenly thinks it's lessor than even though in a practical sense no it is not. But it's just a human thing so you need to address it and take it down over time.
