I gotta say the game for the time it was released looks visually great , looks like a 2d animated cartoon.

SEGA has better resolution, graphics, and music for sure. This is a perfect example of how a "zoomed" resolution may ruin the gaming experience. I love how the Mega Drive resolution is wider, no slowdown, has more variety of colors and the edgy sound is much more fitting.
"Ruin the game experience?" Lol You never played the SNES version. Or you would know that version is perfectly fine
@@josemarques131 you can play perfectly fine on Snes but on Sega you can play way better. Cropped screen doesnt ruin the gameplay at all but it plays wayyyyyyy better on Sega due to the awesome Sega's resolution.

My friends and I compared the Saturn and PS1 version all the time as kids. Though the PS1 version was PAL only..it was still great.

I'm kind of glad that the Genesis version won, because I love it when Boogerman says "Rad!", when he picks up a can of beans. 😆
I love the ending of the sketch where Boogerman's farts have no effect on the criminal, and he gets stabbed. Boogerman should be very glad he didn't encounter a criminal with a gun. 😆

When this game was new I played the SNES version, so that's the one that I've wanted for a while now, but it's a lot more expensive than the Genesis version, so I bought that one instead. Looks like I made the right choice. Great episode, guys!

Console Wars, the Super Nintendo game is fine too, but it's just missing a lot of content from the Sega Genesis version

I'm actually surprised the booger river in the Sewers don't flow, when the Swamp river does and it's...just a palette swap. Odd that SEGA missed that.
Couple corrections I noticed:
-- Sound is a bit distorted on SEGA, but it is actually clearer too. SNES voicovers are muffled, like the music.
-- Boogerman's blink does make noise on SEGA. It's much quieter and it sounds squishy, like he has eye boogers too. 11:10 listen very closely.
So SNES sounds are muffled but it's on Genesis that you have to squeeze your head to the TV speakers to hear some sound effects? Lol

There's a difference between *muffled* and *quiet* ... muffled is like when someone is talking behind a wall or through a pillow or something. Or if you cover your speakers. This makes it quiet too, but in the context of the comparison, even if both were the same _volume_ the SNES version is still _muffled_ sounding.
So...uh, yes. Lol.

"Are we doin' this?" Best catchphrase ever.......on a youtube show with the premise of comparing versions of games on Sega and Nintendo consoles and with representatives of those consoles named Greg and Dan. Great stuff as always. Love the show.
13:25 yup, Genesis' higher resolution for the win! 320x224 pixels vs 256x224 for SNES meaning that Genesis has wider playfield and thus more pleasant gameplay. And interesting to see all the other differences in this regard (slowdowns on SNES, more interactions with the scenery on Genesis...).
But I disagree with you on "best graphics" since both games have identical graphics except that due to the lower resolution, SNES version has stretched visuals with wrong aspect ratio (and not bigger unlike what Greg said) and thus looks worse.
But I also disagree on sound, IMO it's a tie here. Genesis has best music quality but SNES has better voices quality.
Pretty cool video anyway, some good infos and spot on when it comes to gameplay.

Great video once again. CHAOS ENGINE would be interesting to see you do. Oh, and one hint when framing a shot: Don't put the subject right to the center, leave space to the side he/she is looking. Lol keep believing the myth because none of the Gen games I play sound like farts mate. They sound pretty damn great actually. Play the Japanese games.
It's a joke dude. I love the sound of my model 1 Genesis. However, there are certain variants with poor sound reproduction. There's a web page dedicated to the different variants of each model Genesis and some of them are to be avoided.
Well I really doubt budz is joking lol. That really is a myth regarding the quality of the Gen's sound hardware that the uninformed believe. It's mostly American games made with the "gems" sound driver where the fart mediocrity comes from. And yeah early Model 2 units should be avoided.

Holy crap, this game has amazing animation! It's so smooth and stylized!
Also gonna be honest, I much prefer the background of the forest level in the Genesis version, it does a lot to the atmosphere. The trees having black behind them makes it feel like you're really deep inside a forest, with there being more trees in the black area that you can't see because of the darkness, going really deep. The sky in the SNES version makes it feel like you're at the edge of a forest, with there being an open field behind the trees since you can see the sky. Neither background is bad, but I like the "deep inside the forest" vibe of the Genesis version better.
Also, Matt Furniss did this game's soundtrack!? Not surprised the Genesis version is better then since he was amazing at using the Genesis soundchip, lol. Matt Furniss doing the soundtrack also makes me even more interested in the game.
