    After being confused how this game works and after 30 other videos, I finally understand the basics of how this game works thanks to this video thanks lol

    Everyone says the tree is gimmicky and makes the game feel "over produced" but it really does help manage the huge deck. Especially if they're sleeved and likely to slip and slide.

    I don’t own this game and never played it. Was just looking at this vid for research what next solo game I should get.
    I was able to understand everything that happened in this game thanks to how well you explain the game, how you zoom into every play you’re gonna make. And how you speak your strategies and zoom into every card you’re talking so that I can see it and read it. Also your cheery tone and mood soothes the experience of watching you play.
    I acknowledge the hard work that you must put into a video as you’re not only just playing the game, you’re taking your camera into the game too which could also distract your strategies or make you forget what was supposed to happen next, yet that never seems to happen to you. Good job and I’ll be looking at more solo plays from you!

    Thanks for the play through Mike. The directions were missing a very important note that you clarified. Rugwort does not get a set of cards dealt to him. Printed instructions say to set up the game as you would for two players. Well, that would mean that Rugwort, assuming he is the #2 player, gets 6 cards in his hand. I was so confused by this.

    Not sure if you've played Lost Ruins of Arnak? Gameplay seems to be similar in certain instances? Keen to hear your comparison (if you're familiar, that is).

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 3 lety +2

      Check the channel. I did a full playthrough and review.
      Definitely agree that they have similarities. Arnak is deck building instead of tableau building, and you use workers a bit more impactfully.
      I think I’d give Arnak the edge for solo. It’s not isn’t hard enough (though then have PNP expansions to fix that), but it’s still more interesting than Everdell’s, which plays cards too often in some cases

    great play-through, thanks! Just two questions - it appears on your first turn that you made two actions - both gained resources by playing a worker and also gained that card from the meadow in slot 8 - Is the first turn unique and allowing those two actions together? Also, you grabbed the two basic events at the same time without allowing your opponent a dice-roll. Is that part of the rules or a miss-step on your part? Thanks!

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for watching! The answer to both your questions is the same. Rugwort only takes a turn (rolls his die) after I play a card, NOT after placing a worker on the board.
      So on the first turn, I placed a worker first (no reaction) THEN played a card from the middle, triggering his reaction.
      Same for the basic events. Grabbing them with my workers did not involve playing cards, so he just had to sit and watch me :)
      Hope that helps!

    At 19:23, you act surprised of the cards you drew from the meadow, even though meadow cards are face up which means you have a choice on which ones to choose. Did you draw these from the deck instead? And if so, why? The instructions say to draw two meadow cards.
