You were close. The deck height tool is supposed to be zeroed out then you use the clamp to hold it where you zeroed it out. You release the clamp then move the piston. the way you did it your deck height is .006 but I think if you zero it properly it will be closer to .004 it reads in increments of .001 so the difference of .094 and .000 is .006 good job Static this is how you learn to build engines properly.
Always love the junkyard videos! Always fun to see what's in there. I go to my local yards and prowl around just for fun, sometimes. We've got one here that's nothing but Honda/Acura. Usually some cool stuff in there.

Hold tool on glass table top, spin the face of the gadge around till zero is up top the set indicator dile with spinniny knob up top to match the two to where you want zero to be, that is setting to absolute zero. Now hold on the deck and record how many thousands it has raised past 0(which is pefectly flat with deck heigth).(10 is denoting 1 hundredths 0.01 the dashes between the hundredths would be your thousanths readings(0.001). An example would be, if its all zeroed and the piston makes contact making the dile raise to seven notches below the 10 then that would be seven thousandths and would be recorded as 0.007>0(deck) #-cyl.
Also a cheap trick to check your deck is the use a ss ruler with a flash light shining from behind, use feeler gaudges to check tolerances.

I have a CSS B16A in my basement with Wiseco 9.8:1 pistons and Eagle rods. I got the block for free, I already had the Wisecos from a previous build, and the Eagle rods for the B16A1, 2, 3, were $200 used in good condition, and $500 for the shipping both ways as well as the CSS itself.

The gauge that you are using is a form of a pin protrusion gauge. I always love watching your vids man, wish you had one of a del sol; going to take the plunge with a kswap soon

Tool that you used to measure deck hight is called a Dial indicator .the measurement are usually in increments of .001 of an inch .

In regards to that indicator gauge, after you lock it down just rotate the 0 mark to the number you saw as max( so in this case it was 94 ), then when you measure the next one you'll see how much under or over it is, instead of writing down the number between cylinders and comparing. So think of the 0 as a "marker" or "place holder". Hope that helps. 👍🏼👍🏼 DAAAIIIIEEEMM came up at the end Man!

On the CSS block. This is why i run EGT on each cylinder. Even tjough your a/r looks perfect one cylinder could be lean as hell. Run 4 EGT's on each cylinder and you will never lose another piston or cylinder

A sroker is when you use a slightly oversized crankshaft to get more cubic inches out of you engine. It causes a longer piston stroke.
