With updated exterior styling, a new 12.3-inch infotainment running the latest iDrive system, a revised suspension focused on smoothness, and tweaked drive mode dynamics, the latest M5 aims to outgun its closest rivals, including the Mercedes-AMG E63 S sedan, Porsche Panamera Turbo S, and Audi RS7.
The M5's Competition package goes a step further to improve the soundtrack via a sports exhaust system, sharpen handling with additional tuning, and heighten the thrill with 17 additional horsepower for a total of 617. Though traditionally a subtle sport sedan, this particular tester is clad in striking Voodoo Blue paint matched with gold carbon ceramic brakes. The voodoo blue and the white are my favorite color for this car. I currently have an estoril blue f30 340i xdrive and will be getting this next. 👌
Red is for moms above 50 who don't own anything than red jackets, green is for men above 65 because it matched the color of their underwear they still use from 30 years ago. If you bought this in this color and you saw it in black later you would pretty much want to drive off a bridge because you made the wrong choise.

if you want a really comfortable yet tight ride u just need to get M5 noncompetition, its just 1% less brutal with a very tight yet comfy suspension!

I like the Voodoo Blue besides is Voodoo Blue in the M logo. The Voodoo Blue pays homage to the M series and the logo 👌.

Awesome review, great that you're taking your time to go through the whole thing. As a contrasting opinion, I believe iDrive screams to 1st vs MBUX solely based upon CarPlay / Android Auto support. CarPlay updates over time and you're always getting new features. Idk about Android Auto. The iDrive also updates over time via LTE, since this is a 2021 model, it's almost guaranteed we're going to see more features and settings for this specific car.
A very good point. The smartphone support in iDrive is vastly better than MBUX

I have to say that I’m really shocked at BMW coming up with this exact same blue colour that I customised on BMW M5 in Need for Speed Payback video game. And I remember the game has been out for quite some years now. Like BMW officially took the wraps off the previous BMW M5 at the launch event of the game. Right? I’m loving this colour. Sure, it’s too loud and grabs a lot of attention on the streets - but in a good way. What kind of reaction did you receive while driving the car?

It's a very bold color for sure. Why I think it works with this sort of car is that it kinda offsets the cars otherwise too serious personality. Like - so what if it looks a bit too fancy & crazy? It has 600+ hp to back that ostentation anyways!

In my 2013 X5, the rear windows are one touch up but only when the door is closed, not when it’s open.
I realized my mistake after filming this. The M5 is the same way - doors must be closed for one touch up

The asking price is $128K as compared to the original MSRP of $141K. The vehicle has rock chips on the hood and holes in the front fascia from the New Jersey Manufacturer license plate.
