It is awesome Su learning english when she never needed to since they could have just used translations the whole time. Mad respect for them both learning english just for the english fans.
For the english fans? English has been the common language for communication around the world, it is logical to learn that, and as frontwoman it is basically a have to thing for her, if they want to be more successful. She didn't do it just for the "english fans"
Austin Smith as I recall all 3 of the original lineup could speak English, but Su-metal had a little bit more of a grasp of English than Yui or Moa, but it seems that Moa's ability to speak English has improved over time
Granted, both she and Su-metal still answered a few of the interviewers questions in Japanese, but The one's that they did answer in English shows that their English is improving
I'm pretty sure schools in Japan teach the English language to the students
Don't be surprised if they Bust out some Spanish too, over 60% of the fans are spanish speaking as well?

Ah, yes, the musician mentality is strong in these two. That's an especially prevalent belief in the music industry, at least my end of it. It's found throughout the entertainment industry as a whole, too, I'm NOT saying it isn't, it's just pretty big on our side of the industry.

From what I learned Yui fell down the stage in one of their live show and hurt herself pretty bad, hence the bad health situation, also during the same year 2018 one their guitarist died, and it really affected Yui alot.
She left Babymetal saying she been more interested in playing guitar as a solo artist and how she was extremely grateful for her opportunities Babymental offered her.
IDK if most of those info are more or less accurate, I could be wrong, but it musnt be that off target.

What Su said is literally the exact same thing she's said over and over again when asked about Yui. Koba really controls and restricts what they're able to say, publicly, and Yui. I believe that Amuse has Yui listed as an available performer, so technically she is back, but probably won't come back to BM.

@@martinmetal7481 I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case, and I don't blame Yui for taking that stance. As a performer, your fans wants to know every little thing about their lives, so wanting privacy is a good thing I think.
Yeah, sadly with "Idol" groups like this, there's a LOT of control over what they can say or do in public. I kind of hoped in BM's early days that they might buck the trend a little and be more open, but it is what it is and just comes with the territory.

I’m no expert, but I think it has to do with the cultures. Americans tend to be much more expressive, so while learning English they probably picked up on that and adopted it into their personality, whereas Japan is more collectivist/not individualistic.

Graham has known Babymetal for years now. He's comfortable with them and they with him.
He's the ONLY interviewer outside Japan who got to say his peace about Yui and be more personal about it, because he knew her. Su & Moa gave the standard answer, but they know he knows their feelings better than most.

You can see the hidden sadness in their faces, when reminiscing about Yui.. Its obvious there were scripted answers, as to not tall fans the real truth, which would hurt both album and live performance sales, if indeed this was a permanent departure of Yui Metal This way AMUSE can keep us on a string so to speak, for a very long time, in hopes Yui will return,. This is how record companies are, take it or leave it. Sadddd but true
I'm thinking that at some point interviewers were told not to ask about that situation anymore because it's rare anyone asks about Yui leaving in any of these interviews on youtube. I'm just guessing though.

I'm also happy that they are doing well despite the difficult previous year.
Indeed, I am surprised they survived it between the emotional impact of Yui getting sick enough to have to stop performing, the additional emotional impact of losing her as a member completely, and the musical impact of losing one member in a three member group. Most groups don't normally survive that at this size and the trifecta of issues combined is even worse than that. I was sure they were done for, but it seems they recovered from the emotional impact just in time and the composers for the group came up with such brilliant ideas for new styles for the new album that they pulled off a very difficult recovery. It's great to see them back to full strength despite being down a member.
@@Alex20114 Pretty certain they lost a full year, my guess is they had planned to released this album last year.
@@autohmae yes, and that was just one effect of losing one member in a three member group. Things usually get much worse from there. (Example: the J-Pop trio Kalafina, who almost immediately disbanded completely after a member left.)
Not forgetting losing Mikio as well. It was a tough time for them all I imagine.
@@jaynbob42 I always remember BOH's words (assuming correctly translated in a stream from 2015, "BOH reflects BABYMETAL Yokohama Arena 2015 [ENG SUB]"): he called it passion for the stage. He only mentioned it about Yui and Moa, but clearly also applied to Suzuka. Koba mentioned it in an interview this year: they're now leading the way.

Can't wait for the album! I'm continually impressed by Su's growth as a singer and as a person. It can't be easy for them to learn English while touring, performing, recording, etc. How many of us, when we were teenagers, could do world tours and learn Japanese??

When I saw the Metal Galaxy tour, I was hoping for Riho, but the avenger du jour was Momoko... and Momo-Metal TOTALLY rocked the stage! Epic performance. I kept thinking, it's all true, they really ARE that good! Non-stop brilliance!

As a SG fan, was really hoping to see Momoko. Was not disappointed with Riho’s performance, tho. She absolutely killed it.
They switch out regularly, so I'm sure you'll catch a concert with Riho assigned eventually.

Just hearing the words "Yui's departure" is like a knife to the heart I did not think it would hurt this much... Su and Moa want to say more about Yui at least that's what i feel but I'm pretty sure they are not allowed to which sucks but i do truly believe their bond did grow stronger between them as long as those two are around I will continue to remain a BABYMETAL Fan.

@@nerdyyyellow8501 around November of 2017 Yui fell ill we don't know exactly what her illness is but it was bad so bad to the point she couldn't even get on stage anymore I don't know what she is doing now or what her condition is but she quit the band due to those reasons this was announced October of last year
