Sadly, rugby is now falling foul of football (soccer) antics during contact. It’s really sad to see the sport slowly being destroyed and everything that makes it special disappearing. I only pray that Rugby never takes off in the USA because if it does the sport will be absolutely ruined.

The amount of aggression and power is amazing. The use of speed and strength, while also being aware not to kill the other person is great. No padding necessary.

I first saw rugby when I was walking through a park in London and I absolutely fell in love with it. I wish though I could have played it

As a kiwi who is a diehard rugby fan I just wish we heard more about rugby over in europe. Im making it my business to find some recent games, maybe 6 nations so I can learn the hotshot player in your teams so i can educate myself ahead of the next RWC.

played for 7 yrs in a multi state regional men's league, 1 level below international league...god I miss playing...1st time I ever got hit, I was a prop, went into Ruk, I see ball pop out on opposite flank, just as got hit by opposing team member, clearing me off the ruk...went from watching ball play, green grass...to looking at the blue sky in a heartbeat, not realizing what happened...a I realized what happened, I started laughing at the absurdity...as I was a 240lb man, no one had ever done that to me, before...the other guy, looked at me laughing, and just shook his head...lol

French from southwest. Here Rugby is number 1. Thank you for your interest. Quite a lot of differences with American Football and similarities in the combat. Too long to explain here but basically in Rugby game there are much less time-off that makes AA football game last very long. Action is on. Once the guy carrying the ball has been hit and stoped, if if not too knocked out,, he has the possbility to release the ball behind him and the oppent's team can't grab it from the back but from the front only (that why you see a small fight for land possession once the guy is on the ground) and most of the time the ball is released and the game moves on. And you can see spectcular fights and moves for several minutes sometimes. So this makes a big difference with AA when the game always stop. A more fluid game I would say.

Anyone who says there is more skill involved in football than rugby needs their head checking. The amount of thought, awareness, fitness, hand eye coordination and power that is involved in 25 minutes of rugby shows how much of a better sport it is. I'm 20 and we just had a 54 year old join our team he was in mint condition considering his age with a full blown white lush hair and beard. Dude only started this year and ended it off looking like a pro. Never too late
I play, but I'm 42 :P It takes a bit longer for the body to recover, but it's still fun

@@broflo3875 NFL only run an average of 1.25 miles per 3 hour game, rugby run 4.46 miles (370% more) over 84 minutes. There's no comparison in fitness.
@@ruzziasht349 Fitness isn't particular to only running, and endurance fitness isn't the only factor in determining which sport is "tougher" or "better". As we all know, they run more in soccer than rugby. Because their cardio fitness is better does that make them all around better in your opinion?

They're professional athletes and just about every one of them, including the fat O-Lineman, have extremely good cardio. Furthermore, it's only a boring game to you because you most likely don't understand the sport and have no connection to it. The same way many Americans find rugby boring or soccer.
What we like about American Football is the brutality mixed with the strategic plays. For us, there doesn't need to be constant motion in the sport to keep our attention. Furthermore, most of this comparison to American football is usually out of some foreigner hatred or inferiority complex that most of you have. You hear that most Americans think they're the best and blah blah blah, so now you have to compare something you have to what the Americans have to show that you're big and tough yourself. Meanwhile, nobody in the US is comparing their sport to Rugby as nobody feels the need to compare their sport to what they feel is an inferior game.
They deserve all the millions instead of other sports who flop every minute
