Those lines feel like something I'd come up with randomly while trying to scrape together an idea in a very short time limit. And I love it all the more for that.

Why tho when they already paint crystal clear images of the action with music? You can just see in your head the grand epic scale of things and honestly I think the embellishment added by the individual imagination makes it more extravagant and epic than what can be actually made. For example, I like to image hoots flying down into a clothesline on zargothrax in fires of ancient cosmic destiny

Justin V Allange I think the upside to that however would be the level of detail to added to everything. You can imagine the scale of the battles, but it’s extremely difficult to imagine every single individual soldier in their own individual battles with everything that is also happening at the same time. Plus, they could still use the music that evokes the same feeling at the proper moments.
I would find some way to watch that despite not having access to a television with access to most channels.

Judging by the other song we have from this album, he goes to recharge it at some point. If I had to guess, this song is probably early in the album's 'story', right after he emerges from the portal to the past we saw in Apocalypse 1992. The Hootsman probably saves him and gives him time to escape, and repower his hammer.

A bit late to the party. Confutatis maledictis can be translated in different ways, but I think it's a reference to Mozart's requiem. In that case it roughly means the doomed accused/condemned Scotsmen. It's hard to translate that to English because English lacks the proper verbal tenses. The problem is, that the sentence should continue, in the requiem it goes "Confutatis maledictis flammis acribus addictis, voca me cum benedictis" and the complete sentence would roughly be: When the condemned are doomed to the searing flame, call me among the blessed.

Zargothrax is a antagonist/villain that actually wins.

No, no, Epic battle is fight, neither the villain nor the hero "win" the point is to have an endless cycle of epic battles and quests. Repeat that to yourself, "Epic battle is fight."

The 1st time he was locked in a prison of liquid ice, which sucks but he returned, and the 2nd time, while his plan to summon the Elder God Kor-Viliath of the 18th Hell Dimension failed, he made the best of it by conquering a brand new world.
On the other hand, he has also won at least 3 times, first by taking over Dundee in the first place, with his unicorn invasion, then being freed by the Chaos Wizards and giving the Knights of Crail their first defeat (a major feat) and finally succeeding in the siege of Dunkeld and forcing Angus to retreat. So effectively they're 3 wins for 3 losses

The wormhole had transported Angus and Zargothrax to an alternate dimension! And somehow, Zargothrax had materialized at an earlier point in time, letting him conquer the entire Kingdom of Fife with nothing to stand in his way. With his Hammer of Glory unable to channel the powers of this universe, Angus could not defeat the evil wizard in combat, and was forced to retreat from the battle. Even with their mysterious battle-prayers to The Hootsman, the resistance armies had no chance. From a hiding place in the hills above Dunkeld, he watched in horror as Zargothrax's army slaughtered the inhabitants of the city, the final holdout against the forces of evil. Angus could not believe his eyes when he realized who was commanding the armies of chaos... it was none other than Ser Proletius, the Grand Master of the Templar Knights of Crail! What terrible enchantment had led the alternate-universe version of this noble warrior to fight on the side of Zargothrax?!
I think the fact that Ser Proletius is on Zargothrax's side in this dimension is the saddest thing. He was a hero!

Here we see that the Hootsman is still alive. I half-suspected they'd have gotten rid of him for good after Apocalypse 1992 and have James roll a new character. I assume this means that the album is set in an alternate universe and this is the alternate Hootsman. However, does this mean that there is another Angus and Zargothrax as well, in addition to the ones who went through the space portal in the previous album? An interesting prospect...
However both Ben and Paul look different enough to either be alternate versions of their original characters or brand new ones, so it's also possible that the Hootsman is the only consistent one since he is immortal. So in this universe Zargothrax may have already been defeated and Angus passed away, or perhaps the state of disorder described in this universe is the result of Angus losing the final battle and the alternate Zargothrax having taken over Fife? If so, will the two Zargothraxes team up or fight each other in addition to Angus and his allies? I'm excited to have these questions answered and see where this album takes the story.
...Oh and the music is good too.
In this alternate dimension, Zargothrax never became an evil wizard. He was a simple peasant, and was killed in a freak basket weaving accident 14 years earlier.

@Peter Mamaev I've seen Alestorm 3 times, met Chris twice (passed up a chance to play MTG with him once, and yes, he is as nuts as he seems) and Gloryhammer once (they were the support, Stratovarius were headline. Timo was sick and did not sound good.) Every single time has been amazing. So I don't doubt that Chris has that many tricks up his sleeve.
