========= Stormtroopers LYRICS ==========
Now there’s a standstill in the war, repeating what’s been done before
It must come to an end, a few will transcend
They were under twenty five, and under fire they would thrive
The Sturmmann is born, their enemies scorn
A glimpse of the future, new tactics in war
New doctrine in combat explored
As fast as lightning, there’s no time to mourn
A glimpse of the future and Blitzkrieg is born
Strike at zero hour
With overwhelming firepower
They’re fueled by the fear in their enemies’ eyes
It’s a Shock Troop infiltration
A fast and violent escalation
Out of the trenches the stormtroopers rise
Jägers led the way, the pioneers would join the fray
Initiative gained, advancement sustained
Lead through direct command, as they’re advancing through the land
Encircling their flanks, and ravage their ranks
Expose their reinforcements, destroying their lines
New doctrine in combat aligns
Infantry attacks, exposing the cracks
New combat ideals, on the Kaiserschlacht’s fields
========= Historic Fact ==========

Sabaton’s music style is incredible because of two things:
1: They have an incredible mind for crafting songs that swell you with energy. Their songs are pump-ups
2. Their subject gives you something to put that energy toward. They sing about REAL events that actually occurred and actual people that existed.
The music gives you energy, and the lyrics gives you something to put that energy toward, and it comes out in patriotism and pride in something with which you were probably never involved, but nevertheless you’re blown away with pride

I remember watching "The Lost Battalion" in high school, as part of history class. I forget when exactly in the movie this happened, but I do remember that, when one of the German generals quietly, coldly ordered "Send in the stormtroopers," my jaw dropped.
At the time, I was--and still am--a huge Star Wars fan. I vaguely knew the Star Wars stormtroopers were based on real German soldiers, but having said that, I remember thinking "Oh my God, what *is* a real stormtrooper, who were these guys?"
And then when they showed up wielding flamethrowers and machine guns, I was awestruck. Star Wars wishes their stormtroopers were half as badass as the real ones!
Shock troops trained and equipped specifically to shatter enemy defenses. Tactics and equipment varies wildly by government and galaxy, but the mission remains the same.
The clones are ironically a better counterpart than Imperials to German Stormtroopers.
@@archer260 Ironic, but not surprising if you consider the situations. The G.A.R. was built to take on a peer level military, while the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps was primarily a means of suppressing uprisings on "friendly" worlds.
This shift in priorities is also visible in the fleet composition, shifting from a diverse and balanced battle fleet to a standardized series of mobile firebases expected to operate individually.
More irony, the massive bulk of the Imperial I and II classes, necessary to house all the support forces that used to have their own transports, combined with the heavily focussed armament officers liked for increased lethality made them particularly vulnerable to being outmanuvered by small high speed targets like the Incom Corporation T-65 X-Wing, whose design team joined the Rebel Alliance. So imagine that you are a french soldier in the trenches, ok? Suddenly, you see a group of German soldiers, but something is different about them. No the scary part is that while looking at him, you failed to see his squadmates flanking you and you suddenlyu get wacked over the head.
Sabaton is like the history teacher. Perfect.
The 'Sturmtruppen' were tasked to rapidly infiltrate enemy lines, led from the front and highly flexible due to "Auftragstaktik" ("goal orientated tactics" = instead of blank orders the german army bscly goes for "i want this goal to be achieved... how you do it is your business") and equiped with the best of the best when it comes to weaponry (they would use highly new and inoventive gear such as the MP18 (one of, if not the, first submachine gun) and light machine guns) and protective gear (such as the new and acctually usefull "Stahlhelm"), they would quickly charge over no mans land, envelop the enemys flanks and often be so quick that they could mow down reinforcements before they suspected to be in contact...
They were often made up from elite, battle hardened veterans from the eastern front, freed up by the russian revolution and subsequent peace treaty with russia, and told to think of themselves as the "princes of the trenches" and boy did they live up to that....

Same, I'm a big Johnny Cash fan, I listen to a lot of Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson and John Denver, never listened to metal in my life. Then for some reason I found The Winged Hussars in my recommendations and now 70% of what I listen to is Sabaton!
I am a twelve year old who loves to read about wars and my dream is too join the Navy. Specifically Seal Team 6.
Good luck
Good luck and God bless mate.
I can't help it, every time i see those old german gas masks it just remind me of that faction in warhammer 40k. The song also fits them perfectly too.
Death kreige I believe is their name
If I remember correctly the death korps of krieg are based off of the stormtroopers
My Great-Grandfather was an officer of the stormtroopers, responsible for their sports training. He also trained troops in Hungary and received several medals, including the Iron cross
I always like to see the imperial German Heer an army with honor. The British noted that when captured, they would be the first to help treat the wounded.
@@radicalgremlin6440 Unfortunately being a German stormtrooper was one of the most dangerous jobs in the German army in ww1 infact it was so dangerous that you had to be single to join if you were Married you were not allowed to join becouse the chance that you would not come back was very high

These are the only Stormtroopers that should be feared and respected.
I think WWII Stormtroopers were much scarier. I wouldn’t say if they have to be respected though.
@@boneflayer3954 nah I wouldn't say that the fear when the stormtroopers attacked in ww1 is written about especially when the idea was new the entente didn't know what hit them in ww2 the idea was well known and both sides had similar troops
@@boneflayer3954 I admit, I thought the Nazi's replaced the stormtroopers with panzers almost entirely, so I wasn't aware they were in large use in the second world war, and I can actually see why they would be scarier, but I was meaning respect in the sense that they shouldn't be underestimated.
Also I was trying to make it funny as I have a feeling there will be some people who will be like "stormtroopers are from star wars" so I kinda meant that these Stormtroopers are should be feared rather than the star wars characters. 😅
@@deadmanlnc2215 the germans mostly used sturmpioneers in ww2, not sturmtruppen. similar idea, just fewer more elite units that could do a broader range of tasks, although many stormtrooper tactics were also adopted by the regular infantrymen. they also had sturmzugs (storm platoons), but these weren't quite as extensive tactically as sturmtruppen were in ww1 (and their men were not called sturmtruppen)
@@matthiuskoenig3378 appreciate the information 👍🙂 thank you.

My personal song 2022 which guided me trough the most difficult situations i've ever had in live.
Back in 2022...it seems to be so far away.
And btw. my grand grandfather was a stormtrooper and this song gives him and all others whose names may never be mentioned again a legacy worth keeping in our memories.
Stormtroopers in Star Wars - a beloved and often funny bunch.
Stormtroopers in real life - not very loved, but feared. Total domination of the enemy, blitzkrieg... destroy the enemy with excessive force.
At the end of a crummy day, this is just what I needed; an epic sabaton song! Thanks guys!
100% agree my friend!

Here is why I like sabaton music :
- No drugs involved
- Pure entertainment
- When I got the notif, I watch at zero hour, with overwhelming fire power, they're fueled by the fear, in their enemies' eyes
- It's a shock troop infiltration, a fast and violent escalation, out of the trenches the stormtroopers rise.

The storm troopers we’re greatly feared my the allied powers especially during the Kaisershlact or Kaiser battle of fence in spring of 1918. “ new combats on the Kaiser’s ideals” , some of them being glam troopers, others being equipped with the new MP-18. They were the best of Germanys’ massive army. Sabaton depicted this perfectly
I've always known stormtroopers in Star Wars were named with inspiration from their ww1 counterparts but when I had seen the art in the music video of the Stromtrooper with a gasmask, for the first time I had realised that the Star Wars stormtrooper helmet was created with inspiration with the eye holes in the helmet reminiscent to a ww1 gasmask. Sabaton is always teaching something, even if it is something that wasn't intended. :P

Man, the tempo of this song is just epic AF and the lyric's complement it to perfection - simply brilliant. Only started listening to Sabaton recently, but can't get enough of their songs. You've got a new fan here all the way down in South Africa :D
I love the sturmtruupen. They are a legend even today. Their fearlessness and willingness to charge headlong against their enemy is amazing. They remind me much of the United States Marines in their dedication and skill. They fought with a determination that before was never seen as adamantly. may they rest forever for their honored service to their Fatherland. And their Sacred Germany!
They did not do WWI style charges. The strumtruupen were using the first set of modern infantry tactics of small fire teams moving forward one half firing the other moving under cover of that fire with short key artillery use around five minutes not the all day of before.
But yes very brave but also very smart you can't charge though enemy prepared trench lines but you can move up in small groups and push though the weak points.
