We’ve had a Karcher for years, we’ve always used it after having a shower at home, wouldn’t be without one, so now we have another use for it 😊

To fill our water tank without a hose pipe I have a filling cap (can’t remember the make) that goes on the tank fill point in place of the cap. This filling cap has a Hoselock type connection on it, brilliant if you use a hose. But I have a 12 volt submersible pump with a hose and hose lock fitting. If I have to use the aquaroll to top up the water it’s easy, drop the pump in the barrel, connect the Hoselock to the cap plug in the pump 12 volt supply and wait for the barrel to empty. No lifting and pouring. Vital bit of gear!

2 small water containers rather than 1 large one, makes carrying them much easier.
Solar charging system is essential. If nothing else you never have to worry about a flat battery when your MH has been in storage for a while.
Additional external locks for garage and habitation doors, peace of mind for so many situations.
All season m+s tyres for muddy rally fields and Festivals, looking at you Glastonbury 2016.
External thermal blinds for cab windows, they don’t completely stop condensation but they do reduce it.

I really recommend getting one of the genuine Thermos mugs. They're not cheap but worth every penny. They keep a drink warm and drinkable even overnight and they don't leak if you throw them in a bag.

Top tip for satnav, buy a truckers satnav rather than an overpriced dedicated motorhome one. There’s a few very good navs sold buy truck drivers. I have one and it’s fantastic and only cost £100

No 1 for me is passenger air bag! Many moho's have this as part of the driver's or lux pack. Ought to be there as part of the base spec. imho.

You've called it #5 wifi, but it isn't just that (though it does send wifi around the van). The brand name MiFi is now used for it (like in the UK 'Hoover' is used for vacuum) - a device that connects to mobile phone network and provides wifi network locally. Then it was listed again at the end (16 minute mark).
I use an expandable hose. It's not food grade but I don't drink the main water tank water. Very compact.

We had a flat hose, and it was terrible - reel fell apart immediately, takes ages to get out and stow again, always kinks. I like the stretchy garden type hose (but not technically food grade i guess).

  • @kmac499
    @kmac499 Před 3 lety +1

Short 1m hose to flush out the toilet cassette
Stick up battery cupboard lights for the outside lockers incl gas.
    Bullseye spirit level
Strap hanger loops around the front top seat belt mounts for us vertically challenged to get in the cab
    Non slip mat cupboard lining.

Hey. I think we did mention it in passing, but it's not an essential unless you plan to never ever stay on a campsite. Having said that, we use it on every single trip. It's a fabulous piece of kit.

Aaaaarrrggghhhhh - must not be triggered, must not be triggered (and.... calm). It’s a CO, carbon monoxide, detector and not a CO2, carbon dioxide, detector. Whilst both gasses will kill you, the former only needs to be a few parts per million concentration whilst the latter you exhale and only causes problems if it displaces the available oxygen. Love your videos, but several van lifers refer to it as a CO2 detector, and it just sets my inner science nerd trigger off sorry 🤯🤯🤯. P.S. you are forgiven.... this time 😋

I disagree, I think I toilet video would be helpful, the greatest problem on sites is that people don’t use the toilet waste facilities properly, or know how to empty or clean their toilets properly
